  1. Most excellent Dave. It begs for rally stripes. Good call. Can't wait 'til Sunday.
  2. Got some body paint done with the gold base, and now highlighting the scroll work by hand. All raised areas get purple highlights, but I wanted to put a coat of clear over what's been done. I'll mask the other areas before starting them. Also got the calipers/rotors attached and ready to install brake lines.
  3. When I saw the "coming straight at me" pic, I didn't know whether to get out of the way or start waving my arms to back the car up after a burnout. Great front end attitude there Tyrone. Suspension is looking good too.
  4. Every time I check in here Chris, something amazing is going on. I can't believe how clean your work area is. What are you ?? A Stepford Modeler ?? The skill and determination to do Dzus fasteners is mind blowing.
  5. Thanx for following Ken. I have seen Rob Zombie's name associated with Dragula, but I didn't know Rob had a similar car. Couldn't find an image that wasn't Granpa Munster's car, Google - wise either. Could you post a pic ??
  6. Ya' think so John ?? Well, here, take this, and that and oh, how cool am I ?? Check out the tyres !! I'm a full blown nut case and it's all somebody elses fault. Sometimes we update because it's just time to and sometimes because we're behind on updating and other times because we've just blown our own mind !! This is why I build. Thank You Very Much !!
  7. Thanx Boyos. Andy, Halloween is a definate maybe. Today for instance, after being ultra certain the seat was a perfect fit with the rollcage, it helps to check length, height AND width. Especially in such tight quarters. How do they expect a person to be comfortable in that thing ?? Anyway, I had to shave at least 1/4" from the sides. It was either that or remake the rollcage, NOT !! Glad to have the Rat Rod Wreckerman give a stamp of approval. If you think my blower looks good, please come to Victorville, CA November 5th. Don't bring any models, just sign up to be a judge. LOL I think we have a styrene addict in the crowd........
  8. ....and now, the bat wing in living color.......and the fuel lines.........and the interior.......not too far off from starting assembly.
  9. JJ !! YES !! You did that on purpose, right ?? How did you know I'd be looking ?? You devil. Great all around work Darryl. Sweet.
  10. Just a note to let ya'll know there will be pics later. Got lot'so paint done today with exception of the body. That's tomorrow now that I'm done with detail spray bomb type fixtures. Got the blower and injectors wired. Wish I could say plumbed, but the budget isn't allowing for a/n fittings right now. I'll have pics of the finished interior tonite too. See ya then. (Gimme a few hours. Sorry Florida and points east.)
  11. I loves me a down and out cackler. You can always tell when a builder has a passion for the subject. Great work Shane. I like the wooden front wing. I'm putting a wood push bar on my Dragula.
  12. Great !! Tomorrow is good for me too !!
  13. As I recall Wayne, that's the same day I remember seriously considering retiring from competing again. Then I realized Darryl was 3,000 miles away........... LOL
  14. Recently I tried to make a jig to form solid wire fuel lines for blowers and injectors. It was less than successful. Biggest part of the problem is unbending the pre-bent line to put it thru the fuel block, then reshaping it to insert into the holes on the blower / injector. Should I just do one line for each one instead of my current method ?? Any help would be good.
  15. Pardon the way-obvious pun, but that's just NUTS !! Incredible detail and attention to accuracy. Heck, with my fat fingers I need tweezers to hold the tweezers.
  16. That'd be great. When I saw them the first time, I started wetting some tissue, then I realized I needed diluted white glue, not drool........... Must be something in that Florida humidity that keeps people inside building, huh ??
  17. Thanx Dave and Darryl. Also thanx for bringing the JJ car back to the head of the line. It's done well on it's first 2 outings at local contests. It won't stack up well against the stuff I expect to see in Victorville in a couple of weeks, but I'm going anyway.
  18. ....and now that I've seen your second post, the offer to allow you to do a parachute tutorial stands as previously offered. Plus, I'm more impressed than I was before, so that's gotta be worth sumthin'.
  19. Hi Darryl, I'm way impressed with your skill set. As a way of welcoming you to the board, I will allow you to do a tutorial on how to make deployed parachutes from tissue paper. You're Welcome
  20. It's splendiferal, it's fabeauteous, it's magnificul, it's gotta have it's own words 'cuz real ones don't cut it. I bow at the risk of not being able to straighten my back.
  21. Belated thanks for the compliments folks. I'm starting to see the end of fabrication and the really, really closeness of final paint and assembly. Here's what for today. Set up wing, braces, torsion / wheelie bar ( I know you don't need torsion bars on a solid frame mounted rear axle. It came as a package deal), and I've laminated some ice cream sticks together for a wooden push bar.
  22. Just a post to keep the topic alive. I'm waiting for the good folks at Comp Resin for my Dart and decals. I don't recall what the normal delivery time is from previous orders, but I'll hang in there if you will. In the meantime if you get bored, go to my Dragula build and check out the action there.
  23. Great pics Rob. There be some bodacious builds and no shortage of rods. Liked that double engine rail in the dio.
  24. Awesome piled on top of Awesome John.
