  1. I'm of the mindset to put clear on the places that need it and dullcote on the places that don't. Hope that helps Dr. C. Other than that, it looks great so far.
  2. Gives new meaning to the term, "Evil Twin". How about "Evil Clones" ?? They are the puppet masters in the relationship, obviously. One is the idea man, the other, the action man. Their names ?? Ter and Esi, the Evil Clonesters !! Another build inspired and executed by a true visionary.
  3. Very pleased with today's progress. I cut 1/2" off the back of the interior bucket. The base plate has a cutout for sleeper access / crawlway from the interior. Both sides get sleeper access doors. I will now use the opening as a template to make a smaller door so that it will mount flush. With both sides mounted to the base, I'll let that dry overnight before gluing the front to the base. Tomorrow you'll see the hauler body on the bed for the first time. Are we jazzed about that ??
  4. Incredible Mr. T !! If you look at the proper angle to the firewall, it would look like 8 engines. Best of all, it's accurate on the 1:1. All Hail Alclad !!
  5. Brad, I was working on a stretch Deora transporter / hauler when a delay caused me to WIP out the Dragula. Now that I have finished the Dragula and finally settled all of the Deora issues, I'm back on that. At first it was going to haul my US Dart wheelstander, then it was for the Jungle Jim tribute F/C, then I was going to do a Hemi Under Glass using a 2009 Challenger. Now it's the Charlie Allen Dart, which is FINAL !! The Allen Dart will be the next project after the Deora. If you haven't seen the Deora topic, please check it out from page 1. It's a wild ride. Bride of Deora
  6. Apologies for those of you who tried to check pics yesterday. My PhotoBucket free account maxxed out. I had to get their Pro service. It's all back up and running.
  7. I've died and gone to Graphics Heaven. Beauteous man, just gorgeousal.
  8. Sorry for the delay. Had to upgrade PhotoBucket. Ding Dang it !! On to the goodies. Got the hauler sides done and the plate sitting in the bed will attach to the underside of the hauler body. Also, there will be sleeperage. Oh Yes, there will. I KNOW, RIGHT ?? It will feature doors on both sides and an entrance from the interior. There will be a bed / couch that will be in desperate need of a covering made using Darryl's famous tissue technique, should the day come that I actually learn it from, oh, I don't know, maybe a tutorial ?? There will also be a fold up table that will have a widescreen TV underneath so when the table is in the up position, Joila', TV. I'll start on the top and bottom tomorrow, okay ??
  9. Could explain why she changes every night into that hideous grotesque form. I'm talking about the human one. As a monster, she's great. As a lady she can be..........less than agreeable.
  10. Is this going to be a replica of a 1:1 or are you taking artistic license again? Either way, Yoooooowza Man.
  11. Thanx for all the good words everybody. It was a pleasure building it. I'm glad to hear that so many of you liked the WIP as much as the finished ride. Doctor Cranky, you might as well let Eyegore know now that Grampa and Herman have very specific instructions to park anywhere but in front of a fire hydrant anywhere in the state of Florida.
  12. Ultra cool Dr. C. I love Warcraft and Warhammer stuff. BTW, Elvis, meet Lily. She looks his type Virgil. Maybe we could hook them up ??
  13. Last night before I hit the sack (Don't look at me, the sack started it !!), I laid down the bed rail strips. I woke up in the middle of the night (because I'm old, 'nuff said), and I normally go right back to sleep. Two hours later, I came up with the template for the hauler. I'm debating the issue of the sleeper. I can put a sleeper in, that's not the problem. It does make the rear bed overhang a little long. Also debating a low angle Kenworth type roof spoiler to butt up to the front of the hauler. I think it will look cool even though it's not "period correct", plus it makes the seam on the cab roof a non-issue. Also of note, The b-pillars are gone and the side windows have a full widescreen view of the world. One more thing. I have not ruled out the addition of a spa in the bed and I love the cellar door type idea. Thanx for that.
  14. A few more shots. Lots of plastic debris to vacuum up. The tail is filled in where the taillights would have been. There will be a pic of that in the next update. Why not now ?? Alright, I've explained this before but I'll go over it one more time. I'M OLD !! I'll have the lights on the hauler door. Later for now.
  15. It's ready to roll. I'm done. Forward all compliments to Under Glass. Dragula
  16. Here's the rest......
  17. Look out England, The Griffin (from Munster Go Home) wants a rematch and Grampa and Herman answer the call with an updated Dragula. Here's the short list of modifications: EVERYTHING. There isn't a part or piece on the original that wasn't tweaked in some way, not to mention the scratchbuilt add-on goodies. Feel free to ask any questions about the build. There are only minor touch up and details left to do. Thanx go out to everyone who commented during construction and especially those who have been waiting for me to get back on the Bride of Deora. My favorite parts of this build are the wing and the headlight candles
  18. It's true, really. I'm back on the Bride of Deora. Whoot !! Here's what's happening now. It occured to me that the problem with a full size car sitting on the high sides (relatively speaking) of the body was part of the visual correctness due to the required height of the hauler housing. Therefore, I'm lowering the sides 1/4" and encroaching on the interior as well. There's a lot of unused space behind the back seats, so I'm claiming it. This will allow less overhang at the tail. Can you say, "Where's my Dremel?" five times real fast ??
  19. That's what I was waiting for. Schweet Wayne. Uber nice layout and I can see the orange shining now.......Ahhhhhhhhh.
  20. Yer slackin' off on us. We're too easy on ya' Darryl. I'm gonna nit pick the livin' daylights outa this build. It's about time somebody slaps you out of your complacency. I only see 8 pieces of artwork made from tissue !! There's easily room for one more shop towel or jacket. Are you sure those things only have 2 parachutes ?? Where's the other tire cover ?? Oh, wait, hang on, just a sec........ooooop.......my bad.....just noticed the plug wires hangin' over the frame. All is forgiven. Carry on........
  21. I can already see and smell the clouds of smoke fryin' off those big meatys !! Did they ever figure out how to debug the steering on that thing ?? I'll bet a new one from scratch with todays technology would rock the crowds. No need for hi tech graphics though. Let the engines do the talkin'. She's gorgeous John. Think I'll stick around 'til it's done.
  22. Thanx for the tip on the Beadalon goodies. Beats cutting up aluminum tubing for an inaccurate fitting. There are those of us who are low budget builders and a tip like that is a big help.
  23. I found some very nice pics of Dave Sanos' "Screamin Insanity" Grand Am and there's a couple of "Body Up" shots of a beautiful chassis. If you can't find the real thing, these might help. They are about 3/4 of the way to the bottom of the page. Grand Am
  24. We're in the homestretch now kiddies (Yes Dr. Crankster, that includes you). If I can just stop adding on to it and finish fer gooness sakes !! Before I complete this build, it's time to re-thank everybody. Believe it or not, I don't build for myself, per se. As someone recently caused me to refocus on why I build. It's for you, and him and them and, yes, even them. I like making people smile. I imagine the look on your faces when you open up the page and see what I have brought forth into the modeling world. On to progress. Finished the plug wires. Threw a little change up at ya', didn't I !! Caughtcha off guard there, right ?? I saw this on a 1:1 recently and had to do it. Throttle linkage done. Throttle return spring done. Throttle pedal line done. Throttle myself for starting this, done !!
  25. So I'm minding my own business, not hurting anyone, cruisin' thru the Workbench section, I click on this "Beerwagon" thingie and next thing ya' know, I'm lying flat on my face with tire treads across my back !! Big wide ones too !! Did anybody get the license ?? Wayne........................................never mind..........words can't express how cool that is.................see ?? I used words and it's still cooler than that.
