Thanx Guys. This is Finished. I had no time to post pics of the final assembly, and I only remembered/Had time to take pics of polished body with the glasses installed. They fit very nicely, just Snap them on place and no glue is necessary. Though the rear window was harder to get right, but a little Super Glue made it fit good.

Very cool build. I like these Small Tire Drag Cars too. Interesting to see you building one, especially with Turbocharged engine. I know that's not easy, but I bet you'll handle that very well. Very nice start already. What are those rear tires?

Wow that is excellent! I knew that your builds are always great, but still I surprised when I saw the pics... That sure is great build with spectacular detailing. Now I must get back to my '71 Pro Stock Cuda.

Okay this is not the COPO Nova, but the Revell Special Edition kit that is basically the same kit. I converted mine to a Stock Eliminator Drag Car with a bunch of scratchbuilt/Modified parts. WIP Thread can be found Here.

Sometimes I do BMF Before clear coat. That happens when there is either much paint so that after clear coat the chrome trims could not be seen that well through foil, or then there are decals that need to be assembled over BMF, as some NASCAR Models. In those cases I have put BMF before clear coat, and it looks good that way too, or at least I can't see the difference. But then, the usual case is that I BMF after the clear coat, and it sure doesn't come off when assembled properly.

'64 Galaxie lightweight......a 30 year old build
W-409 replied to traditional's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
WOW! That is nice, it's really cool to see these old builds in here, and you did excellent job way back then. The subject couldn't be much better, and when the model is built this cleanly, I really like it. Very nice one. -
Very cool build! Dusters are something a bit rarely seen, but very cool. Really nice detailing, and clean paint work. It sure is a nice build, but a couple of things, it is Not a Super Stock car. You could not have a Super Stock Duster with a Hemi in it. NHRA has no Classifications for HemiDusters. Also you have G/SA markings on the windows, which means G/Stock Automatic and that is inside Stock Eliminator, not Super Stock. Also that Hood Scoop wouldn't be allowed in Super Stock. It it was a GT Class car in Super Stock, then yes but otherwise not. It is a nice build, but not a Super Stocker. Maybe my eye gets too much into that classification, but that's what real Stock Eliminator Racer's eye does. Very nice build anyway!

That Frame is a piece of art. Very nice job. It is not easy to build a roll cage from styrene, but you built lots of more here...Wow! The body looks very good, too. Keep it coming.

1956 Pontiac - Finished - - - Class of '56 - Entry #3
W-409 replied to Ramfins59's topic in Model Cars
Very nice! Your builds really are excellent in all ways, the paint, detail, clean assembly etc. Really nice work here too. I'd like to get me one of these at some point, your work inspires me. -
Turned out great! Looks like it was found from a Barn after 30 years, and I really like it. Weathering is very nicely done and those Cranky Decals look excellent on it. I can't wait to get going with my build that will have those decals...

Very cool builds, as always. Both of them are very nice and unique looking with excellent body work and finishing. That Corvette looks like real Salt Racer, or something that could race on the Salt Flats, and the hauler is just extremely cool when the Race Car is driven on it like that...Nice job!

Wow that looks great! Very nice and shiny paint job, and it looks even better with the BMF on. You do always very nice work, just like this one. Also this body style looks excellent in my eyes.

'54 Chevoldsmollac custom...mystery frame, Aug.26
W-409 replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Here... ...This is looking excellent! It looks good with the other Bumber & Grille set, but I think these Caddy bumbers are spot on. Very nice work so far with this, and so far it is shaping very nicely into smooth Custom. Personally I'd go without the Fender Skirts, but I have never liked them on any car, so..... -
I have old Suitcase where I can fit 9 Models so that none of them is hitting to other ones. Put some paper between the models to make sure that they will stay on place. Then just carefully handle that case and you'll be fine. I use this way to transport my models to shows, and I have never broke anything. Of course, more models you have, more suitcases/other containers you'll need. But this way it is highly possible that there will be zero damage.

I will post some pictures of this year's Drag Race Events here in Finland. First event is FHRA Drag Race week, and this was the first time when our Chevelle was on the track! First a couple of pics of it. Here is Lindström Racing Website. A complete Race Report can be found Here. Other Pics. Joakim Viklund's Mustang...Over 800 Cid Engine makes it running 7,4 ETs. Samu Kemppainen was testing his Nitro Harley. He ran a couple of 6,7s there. Jarmo Markkanen had some clutch problems with his Firebird, but anyway he made it to the finals in Stock & Super Stock. Jukka Mattila's '26 Ford T. He is a member of Rust Racing. Also Tami Brander was doing Test and Tune runs. He drove 6,15 if I remember correctly. Timo Mäkelä's AMC Javelin. And Hannu Tekoniemi's Javelin. All Pictures.

That looks excellent! Shiny paint and very nice detail. Interesting subject too, and a very nicely built model, so I really like it. Good work as always Jim.

Those are good numbers! Today Jonnie Lindberg set a new European Record in Methanol Funny Cars... Here is a quote of EuroDragster Live Race Report from Tierp Arena, Sweden. Fantastic match between Leif and Jonnie, Jonnie on the first half of European ET and speed records, well done Jonnie! Thanks to Spencer Tramm for getting in touch to let us know that Jonnie's 432.69 kmh / 268.86 mph is actually faster than Frank Manzo's NHRA record of 268.06 mph or 431.40 kmh so we could be on a world best here. Jonnie away first 0.1463 to 0.2244, Leif had the better sixty foot 0.9610 to 0.9855, there was a puff of smoke from the right side of Jonnie's car just past sixty but difficult to say what that could have been. Leif to the eighth in 3.6824/334.78 but Jonnie was visibly ahead at 3.6196/348.84. And the ET was 5.4379. Also here is Jaska Salakari driving with a Nitro Harley 6,2 second pass at Tierp Arena. He is a real showman, the other video is about his One Hand Burnout. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VSSzXIuBsY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksGtNZd1pmM

Pro Touring Cars, Yay or Nay?
W-409 replied to Jordan White's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
For me, those are a Big "Nay"! Honestly said, I think a Old School car looks horrible with wheels bigger than 15" and/or Low profile tires. They just look horrible. Same thing with the modern "Plastic covered" LS Engines. Nay! Here I'd say that Old School Is Cool! -
Wow that one sure is shiny! I bet Jim would like the paint on it very much. Oh and what times do those Alcohol Funny Cars run there in the States? Yep, me too. After I have finished a couple of builds I have going on, I will lift that one on the bench and start cutting.

I know what is it! It is...... Ugly! This time I want to get this right since it has been a long time since the latest correct answer in Auto ID Quiz...
-
You are right that some of the cars have a semi gloss finish. Since that is what you wanted, it's correct for this build. The car that came my mind, Jimmy Ålund's Camaro Pro Stock from Sweden, has a very nice glossy finish and I was thinking that did you try to spray the Semi Gloss clear or gloss clear coat. And I understand very well that wiring, since sometimes it is really tricky to get them right, and sometimes that makes me to put the build back in the box for a couple of months. But you did incredible job here, all I really can do is to take my hat off and start searching my jaw from the floor.
-
Fantastic build! Everything looks spot on, color is perfect and it works with that smooth look, when little chrome trims like door handles are shaved off. Also the grille works nicely, and so does those wheels too, even if the spokes are not Magnesium, they look excellent on this. One of the best looking TriFive Chevys I've seen in a while.

Great scratchbuilding! It sure does help when there is a 1:1 car where it is possible to check measures and how the parts really look and work. Both, the balancer and water pump are looking very good, just like real parts.
