  1. The subject doesn't fit into my biggest interests, but you definitely did a great job on this. It looks very good, nice and clean assembly and paint all over. But those wheel wells are Huge!
  2. Very nice build, and great save! I have always liked these Vintage Stock Cars, and this one is very nicely built. Very realistic build, thanks for sharing.
  3. Thanks Fellas! It sure means alot coming from as talented builders as you are. I'm really happy how this turned out, too. I can't wait to pick the Street Car version of this kit. Oh, and next NASCAR build will be The Fabulous Hudson Hornet since Petty Torino is on hold because the body has warped front fenders... Maybe some day I will fix that.
  4. Just came across this while searching reference pics of Ford FC Engines... Umm, that's quite unique I'd say.
  5. Yesterday at Local Model Car Show I spotted one Jo-Han Pinto FC for sale. The first thing that caught my eye was the box, it was just like brand new! Since the price tag was 25 Euros, which is currently $32, I decided to buy it since there can never be enough Jo-Han kits in my stash! The kit was unstarted, only taillight lenses are missing. Maybe I need to scratchbuild them... The plan is to build something that could have raced Back In The Day, with three-color paint scheme that will be something similar to the one in that box art. The engine is a Boss 429 (?) so all detail pics of those FC engines would be highly appreciated. I have some pics already, but still lots of details are unknown. I started by cutting the Rear Window cover with "Pinto" text away, since I want to have a real rear window in this build. Then, after sanding those mold seams away, I put some Bondo on the body to fix a couple of bad spots. Tomorrow I'll sand them and see if it is already a time for primer coat. Also I started cleaning up the chassis parts, but I have no pics of them yet. Here are pics of what was inside the box. http://public.fotki.com/NostalgicDrag/johan-ford-pinto-fc/
  6. I haven't built the Bel Air kit yet, but I have built some W-Blocks and have some in progress... This one is from Revell '62 Impala kit. This is AMT Engine, but I don't know where it is from. Then another AMT 409 with Cragar Blower.
  7. The Front Wheels... They look excellent. Where are they from? Really nice work with the engine, it looks like a Full Scale unit. Also the Hood Scoop is excellent. I'm looking forward of seeing this one completed, it looks so good already.
  8. I bought these from a Local Model Car Show, now the only problem is that where should I put those? The Van, Boat and Trailer kit has almost all parts, only a few small parts are missing. It was 20 Euros ($26) so I had to take it. The Pinto FC is unstarted, only taillights are missing, but with a good price I bought that too. Those all bodies were in one pack, which I bought because of that '56 Chevy Sedan. Oh and that '58 Impala is Trophy Series kit Glue Bomb, which will be built as a Custom.
  9. One More. Thanks for Looking. Any Feedback would be highly appreciated.
  10. No problems were found in Final Assembly. Only the front bumber holes needed a bit drilling, but otherwise everything went very well together. I scratchbuilt those Headlight Covers with the information from Dave Van, to who I'd like to say Special Thanks for the help that he has given on this build. Thanks! On to the pictures...
  11. Thanx Guys. This is Finished. I had no time to post pics of the final assembly, and I only remembered/Had time to take pics of polished body with the glasses installed. They fit very nicely, just Snap them on place and no glue is necessary. Though the rear window was harder to get right, but a little Super Glue made it fit good.
  12. Very cool build. I like these Small Tire Drag Cars too. Interesting to see you building one, especially with Turbocharged engine. I know that's not easy, but I bet you'll handle that very well. Very nice start already. What are those rear tires?
  13. Wow that is excellent! I knew that your builds are always great, but still I surprised when I saw the pics... That sure is great build with spectacular detailing. Now I must get back to my '71 Pro Stock Cuda.
  14. Very nice builds of excellent subjects! I really like how they look, just like 1:1 cars. I always enjoy seeing these '60s Stockers or Super Stockers being built, since I'm building a '61 Dodge Phoenix Super Stocker and '58 Chevy Sedan Delivery Jr Stocker myself.
  15. Okay this is not the COPO Nova, but the Revell Special Edition kit that is basically the same kit. I converted mine to a Stock Eliminator Drag Car with a bunch of scratchbuilt/Modified parts. WIP Thread can be found Here.
  16. Sometimes I do BMF Before clear coat. That happens when there is either much paint so that after clear coat the chrome trims could not be seen that well through foil, or then there are decals that need to be assembled over BMF, as some NASCAR Models. In those cases I have put BMF before clear coat, and it looks good that way too, or at least I can't see the difference. But then, the usual case is that I BMF after the clear coat, and it sure doesn't come off when assembled properly.
  17. WOW! That is nice, it's really cool to see these old builds in here, and you did excellent job way back then. The subject couldn't be much better, and when the model is built this cleanly, I really like it. Very nice one.
  18. Very cool build! Dusters are something a bit rarely seen, but very cool. Really nice detailing, and clean paint work. It sure is a nice build, but a couple of things, it is Not a Super Stock car. You could not have a Super Stock Duster with a Hemi in it. NHRA has no Classifications for HemiDusters. Also you have G/SA markings on the windows, which means G/Stock Automatic and that is inside Stock Eliminator, not Super Stock. Also that Hood Scoop wouldn't be allowed in Super Stock. It it was a GT Class car in Super Stock, then yes but otherwise not. It is a nice build, but not a Super Stocker. Maybe my eye gets too much into that classification, but that's what real Stock Eliminator Racer's eye does. Very nice build anyway!
  19. Andy Frost's Red Victor runs with Drag Slicks and Methanol also, and on the street he uses huge street tires and pump gas. But it sure is fast, and street legal. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sF7XYdN_CEQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sniE9GOMmKw
  20. That Frame is a piece of art. Very nice job. It is not easy to build a roll cage from styrene, but you built lots of more here...Wow! The body looks very good, too. Keep it coming.
  21. Very nice! Your builds really are excellent in all ways, the paint, detail, clean assembly etc. Really nice work here too. I'd like to get me one of these at some point, your work inspires me.
  22. Turned out great! Looks like it was found from a Barn after 30 years, and I really like it. Weathering is very nicely done and those Cranky Decals look excellent on it. I can't wait to get going with my build that will have those decals...
  23. Very cool builds, as always. Both of them are very nice and unique looking with excellent body work and finishing. That Corvette looks like real Salt Racer, or something that could race on the Salt Flats, and the hauler is just extremely cool when the Race Car is driven on it like that...Nice job!
  24. Wow that looks great! Very nice and shiny paint job, and it looks even better with the BMF on. You do always very nice work, just like this one. Also this body style looks excellent in my eyes.
  25. Here... ...This is looking excellent! It looks good with the other Bumber & Grille set, but I think these Caddy bumbers are spot on. Very nice work so far with this, and so far it is shaping very nicely into smooth Custom. Personally I'd go without the Fender Skirts, but I have never liked them on any car, so.....
