I have old Suitcase where I can fit 9 Models so that none of them is hitting to other ones. Put some paper between the models to make sure that they will stay on place. Then just carefully handle that case and you'll be fine. I use this way to transport my models to shows, and I have never broke anything. Of course, more models you have, more suitcases/other containers you'll need. But this way it is highly possible that there will be zero damage.

I will post some pictures of this year's Drag Race Events here in Finland. First event is FHRA Drag Race week, and this was the first time when our Chevelle was on the track! First a couple of pics of it. Here is Lindström Racing Website. A complete Race Report can be found Here. Other Pics. Joakim Viklund's Mustang...Over 800 Cid Engine makes it running 7,4 ETs. Samu Kemppainen was testing his Nitro Harley. He ran a couple of 6,7s there. Jarmo Markkanen had some clutch problems with his Firebird, but anyway he made it to the finals in Stock & Super Stock. Jukka Mattila's '26 Ford T. He is a member of Rust Racing. Also Tami Brander was doing Test and Tune runs. He drove 6,15 if I remember correctly. Timo Mäkelä's AMC Javelin. And Hannu Tekoniemi's Javelin. All Pictures.

That looks excellent! Shiny paint and very nice detail. Interesting subject too, and a very nicely built model, so I really like it. Good work as always Jim.

Those are good numbers! Today Jonnie Lindberg set a new European Record in Methanol Funny Cars... Here is a quote of EuroDragster Live Race Report from Tierp Arena, Sweden. Fantastic match between Leif and Jonnie, Jonnie on the first half of European ET and speed records, well done Jonnie! Thanks to Spencer Tramm for getting in touch to let us know that Jonnie's 432.69 kmh / 268.86 mph is actually faster than Frank Manzo's NHRA record of 268.06 mph or 431.40 kmh so we could be on a world best here. Jonnie away first 0.1463 to 0.2244, Leif had the better sixty foot 0.9610 to 0.9855, there was a puff of smoke from the right side of Jonnie's car just past sixty but difficult to say what that could have been. Leif to the eighth in 3.6824/334.78 but Jonnie was visibly ahead at 3.6196/348.84. And the ET was 5.4379. Also here is Jaska Salakari driving with a Nitro Harley 6,2 second pass at Tierp Arena. He is a real showman, the other video is about his One Hand Burnout. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VSSzXIuBsY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksGtNZd1pmM

Pro Touring Cars, Yay or Nay?
W-409 replied to Jordan White's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
For me, those are a Big "Nay"! Honestly said, I think a Old School car looks horrible with wheels bigger than 15" and/or Low profile tires. They just look horrible. Same thing with the modern "Plastic covered" LS Engines. Nay! Here I'd say that Old School Is Cool! -
Wow that one sure is shiny! I bet Jim would like the paint on it very much. Oh and what times do those Alcohol Funny Cars run there in the States? Yep, me too. After I have finished a couple of builds I have going on, I will lift that one on the bench and start cutting.

I know what is it! It is...... Ugly! This time I want to get this right since it has been a long time since the latest correct answer in Auto ID Quiz...
-
You are right that some of the cars have a semi gloss finish. Since that is what you wanted, it's correct for this build. The car that came my mind, Jimmy Ålund's Camaro Pro Stock from Sweden, has a very nice glossy finish and I was thinking that did you try to spray the Semi Gloss clear or gloss clear coat. And I understand very well that wiring, since sometimes it is really tricky to get them right, and sometimes that makes me to put the build back in the box for a couple of months. But you did incredible job here, all I really can do is to take my hat off and start searching my jaw from the floor.

Fantastic build! Everything looks spot on, color is perfect and it works with that smooth look, when little chrome trims like door handles are shaved off. Also the grille works nicely, and so does those wheels too, even if the spokes are not Magnesium, they look excellent on this. One of the best looking TriFive Chevys I've seen in a while.

Great scratchbuilding! It sure does help when there is a 1:1 car where it is possible to check measures and how the parts really look and work. Both, the balancer and water pump are looking very good, just like real parts.

A second try with this reply... Last time I hit the "Back" button from my mouse. Fantastic work! Those body modifications are spectacular, I know I couldn't have done this conversion any better. And it sure looks like Mustang Pro Stocker. The combination between white and red areas on the paint job, is perfect and color combo is good. Chassis work is totally impressive also. Congrats. But (And this is very small "But") maybe a bit more glossy paint job would look even better? Of course it's possible too, that the pics don't show the shine so well (Always a problem of mine). Maybe a bit more detailing to the engine and frame too? But don't get me wrong, it is a fantastic build, and as said earlier, I couldn't have done this any better.
-
Thanks! That one is not posted yet, but it shouldn't take too long to complete it, so it's possible that it will be posted in Drag Racing Models after it's finished. If you scratchbuild the Ingnition coil, how about a little tutorial? The one that we have in our Chevelle, looks pretty much the same so I'd want to have a couple of those also.
-
At least I don't remember seeing these in this build, so maybe Ignition Coil would be nice addition? Maybe MSD Ignition box also, but that could very well be under the dash, as it is in the Chevelle that I race with. Otherwise I wouldn't add anything, everything just seems to be on place. Fantastic work! Inspired by this one, I pulled out my JoHan Cuda and sprayed a clear coat on it yesterday.
-
That's great! Your WIP looks excellent. Today the weather was fine, and when I woke up I knew that this day is perfect for clear coating. So I took my Pro Stock Cuda build and this Chrysler out and sprayed clear coat on both. Both turned out very nice, but I need to hope that there will be no surprises when the clear is dry. But at least now looks like I might survive with only a little polishing with this one.

'77 Chevrolet Van.
W-409 replied to W-409's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Thanx Guys! I appreciate the kind words! These '70s Chevy Vans are nice cars also, they look good on local Cruising Nights. Oh, and green was also one of the color options I thought, but ended up going with red. -
van builds finished or wip
W-409 replied to modelguy45's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Thanks! Yeah the plan was to build a Van you could see in '80s Finland. That's where the register plate and that 80 sign came from. -
That turned out very good! Personally I've never liked these "Super Gas Roadsters" or what are they called, but as Scale Models, these are really interesting. Nice work with the conversion, great paint and detail. Good work.
-
I thought too it was a Messerschmitt. I tried to search again what it could be, but found no answer. I have never heard of FMR before. Well next time I know.
-
Thanks Everyone! I need to check the Rear Window fit before clear coat, thanks for that tip, David. And Dave, your help is always appreciated. I'm not an expert with these Stock Cars, even if they are really interesting. Great to have those experts that are willing to help on here too. Dominik - The decals sure are excellent, as is the whole kit. But we need pictures from your build also, I'm sure it's going to be spectacular ! Now I'm waiting for the correct weather for Clear Coating. I will post more pictures when I get a chance to spray some clear over it.

What's been your big bargain purchase?
W-409 replied to Shelby 427 1965's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
AirFix Burnout Bird. Okay it was missing a couple of parts, but all the most important parts were there. It was 5 Euros ($ 6,6). On eBay those MPC versions of this kit have high Buy It Now, and I have never seen another AirFix Burnout Bird for sale. -
What Is Your Top 10 List of Ugliest Cars Ever?
W-409 replied to clovis's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Some of you obviously have posted some very nice cars in this thread. It was supposed to be about Ugly Cars. I'll play. Not in correct order. -Nissan Juke. That thing is just so ugly, grille and lights are maybe the worst I have ever seen! This year Nissan Skyline. The Front end just looks horrible, and when guys build these "Tuning Versions" of these, they can make these cars even more ugly. This Mitsubishi Lancer. Especially the grille, but also the rear end are horrible. I don't like the roof line either on this one. Skoda Roomster. This thing is just Freakin' Ugly! The front and rear end look like they're from different cars. Look at the side windows. Lancia Delta. This is ugly from all over. Well there are 5. I'm not going to post more now, my eyes hurt already ! -
I have this kit. After the clear coat has dried about one week, I start polishing. With the 2400 grit and with that I polish until the paint job is smooth, but it's better to be careful here, because it's possible to polish through the clear coat. Then I go through all of those grits, the finest one is 8000. After that I use the liquid in that white bottle that is in the picture. That sure makes the paint job look better, and finally, AutoGlym Super Resin Polish wax, and I end up with this kind of results. If you didn't quite understand what I said, feel free to ask and I'll try to answer more clearly. The "Trial And Error" is a good way to learn, that's how I started also, but actually I haven't messed up any bodies while polishing...
