  1. Thanks for more pics and info, Very sharp looking build! My experiences from that kit are not so great, but looks like that with little more effort this can be made very nice looking AWB car. Great work!
  2. It looks very good to me, but before I can say more, we need more pictures and info, please. EDIT: Whoops I saw the other thread after posting this one. This reply can be deleted, I can't figure out how to do that.
  3. Hey Jeff, and welcome to the Forum! This is great place where you'll find lots of good tips and tricks as well as very talented builders...Especially in the Drag Racing Models section. That sounds wicked, after seeing Fast Freddy a couple of times racing here in Finland, I can say that he is a great showman who always does huge burnouts and then he reverses back very fast. I might have some pics of that car that might help you. I will see what I can come up with. But for the inspiration, here's my video from 2012... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdWI6Y1L1kc
  4. Thanks Bill! Me too, these '50s Stock Cars, as well as '60s and why not Early '70s Stock Cars too, are really nice. Much nicer than those new ones, even if there is nothing wrong with them either. Thanks Chris! Yep I saw that Scale Auto article, and it was great. I might build another Stock Car also from the '56 kit, so then I'd have '55 and '56 Stock Cars on my shelf also. But first I need to get this one done.
  5. This is going to be another very interesting build from your bench. The Chrysler you finished is excellent, and I bet this will be as high quality as that one. I can't wait to see more.
  6. That turned out very cool! Really nice work with all of that detail and detail-painting. Red and Gold fit very well together and here everything looks spot on. Nice work.
  7. This is my all time favorite. Revell '64 Impala Lowrider box, this is the side picture of chassis. Look the Driveshaft & Rear Axle area...
  8. Woo Hoo, another Cool 'n' Creative build from Ira's bench! The Camaro and '57 Chevy fit together surprisingly well, and I bet this will be another winner when finished. Great work again!
  9. I messed up the MultiQuote and two first Quotes disappeared. But Thanks Ira and Dennis too, I appreciate the kind words! Umm I guess so. You're right and Rods & Customs have always been really fun to build, so I decided to build one. But I need to get at least another one of these, since those Oldsmobiles were really popular in Junior Stock Races... Thanks Carl! Gotta admit, that the engine did turn out pretty good, the quality of it is so nice that basically it can't be built so that it looks bad. And I think the plug wires and carburetors turned out pretty good too.
  10. Welcome to the Forum! This sure is great place to get tips and tricks. And there are lots of talented builders, especially in the Drag Racing Models section, which is my favorite section of whole forum. Nice to see more Drag Racing Fans in here (I drive Stock Eliminator here in Finland).
  11. Nice work, as always. These '68 Coronets are really nice, and I'm glad to see one as a Model Car also. Excellent color choice and paint job, clean BMF work and overall really nice build. Those Body Colored Steelies with Dog Dishes really give the finishing touch for this one.
  12. Thanks Andre and James! The Photo Etch parts are made by Detail Master. There are parts for more than one carburetor linkages, so I think it's pretty good set. It's also available in brass color and then the standard silver.
  13. Here is a little update. I made the little "Groove" or what that is called to the frame to get rear axle fit properly. I also painted the axle and test fitted it with painted wheels and assembled tires. The Rear Springs need to be cut shorter yet, but that should be no problem. For the front, I needed to cut the spindles to pieces and put together to get the front end lower. Now it fits just like I want so I can move on to the paint shop. I also test fitted the Engine on frame, and it fits perfectly.
  14. I will be having the same Photobucket problem very soon, but my Bandwidth And Storage are both almost full. I'm not too crazy about upgrading my account, but maybe that's the only way. Dang. Luckily I was able to check these latest updates before this happened, incredible work again, as always! The engine is looking good already and with some more work, I bet it will be perfectly done when installed between those frame rails. Nice and clean Hobby Room, too. I think it's better not to show my own mess...
  15. This turned out very nice, I think the Register Plate says it all. Nice work with the conversion and the idea is really good too. And when the build is executed as nicely as this, I really like it.
  16. I couldn't agree more with Jason. Though I'm 16 and I'm trying to learn those Stock Eliminator tips and tricks. Someone said about the seperate Feedback Section. I think that would be the death for Under Glass, since at least I want honest opinions from my builds that I post. Then I can do better job next time (Or at least try to do). I'm happy to get Constructive criticism because that is the way you learn. Of course compliments and good comments are nice to hear, too. And I bet that I'm not the only one who does this. And if I'm building something, and the first time is not a success, then I start all over again so many times that I'm satisfied with it.
  17. This looks really good to me! Interior makes me want to jump on the drivers' seat. Those seats don't look like plastic at all, to me they look like they are real leather (Or whatever "Soft" material is used on the upholstery). Incredible detailing on the engine also, and you nailed the color choice. I'll be watching this one closely.
  18. Christer Lidberg's Roadrunner. Uffe Edwardsson's Challenger.. Daniel Nyling drove this Chevy Nova in 2009. Very nice car. Can't remember the driver for this Fairlane. Two SS/AH Hemi Barracudas Side By Side. Timo Eronen's Barracuda was posted here earlier, but on the Left Lane you can see Anders Holmberg's Barracuda, if I remember his name correct.
  19. Thanks Larry. Yeah I thought that some of you guys might not know that there is Drag Racing in Finland too, that's why I decided to start this thread. Now I will post some non-Finnish Drag Cars in here that I have seen Racing in Finland. Let's start with Stockers & Super Stockers. This D/S Fairlane was driven by Lars Nyberg this year, but I can remember that Lars Boden has been driving it also... These guys come from Sweden. Then Rick McCann who comes from London, England with this Super Stock Camaro. He does huge wheelstands. Hans Nilsson with this Super Stock Chevelle. Very nice car, also from Sweden. Then Björn Bondesson with this B/SA Chevelle. He is from Sweden too. Per Fageström's '69 Camaro comes from Sweden too. Daniel Nyling who bought the car that Jarmo Markkanen drove here in Finland for 19 years, another Swedish guy. And Pelle Andersson's Nova. Thomas Sundström's Mustang. Håkan Nordström's Plymouth Cuda. This runs very, very nicely, and he is usually the Number one Qualifier.
  20. Thanks guys! Yeah Cragars would have been nice also, especially the 5 spoke ones. But those aren't bad either I think, or actually, I even like them. Gotta check the Sammy Johns out, never heard of him.
  21. For the engine, I'd possibly go with the 427 from AMT Fairlane. But I hope that you will keep this with 15" tires and wheels, big wheels and low profile tires turn nice car into ugly one IMO. Personally I'd go with very high profile tires and 15" body colored Steel Wheels and Dog Dish Hubcaps and high stance. That would be really nice looking car. Nice start you have there!
  22. This is looking like a good start! '41 Plymouth is great basis for Drag Race projects, and especially when built as a Gasser. This makes me to continue my '41 Plymouth G/G with Hilborn Injected Ford Flathead.
  23. Thanks Danno! Here are the decals on place. They were really easy to install, only a little Micro Sol was needed, the decals were really thin and very nice, even if I was bit afraid of installing them (As I always am when trying to install bigger decal than those little badges or cauges ). This is now the current stage where I am at. Now I should have the body clear coated in a couple of days, since those decals has been drying over a month now.
  24. Congratulations, you managed to get this kit together so that the end result looks gorgeous! I remember when I was building this kit too, there were only a couple of parts that were fitting as they should. Absolutely a horrible kit in my opinion. But your build looks excellent, great work with the paint and assembly over all. Nice work.
  25. I think no one has asked that yet, or if someone has, then I must have forgotten that too. It was a couple of years ago when Top Fuelers started to run 1000FT instead of the regular 1320. Though there are only a couple of Nitro Funny Cars here in Europe, and they don't drive on every race. Though it looks like they are getting more popular all the time. And now let's post all Finnish Top Fuel Dragsters. Last year on the European Championship, Finnish TF Drivers took all places from 1 to 6. None of these pictures are mine, usually I take videos of these things. First Risto Poutiainen who started driving Top Fuel Dragsters in 1991. He drove a few years then and had a little break of racing. In 2009 he was back on track and he has placed 2nd on European Championship three times, in 2009, 2010 and 2011, and 2012 he won the European Championship. This happened at Alastaro Nitro Nationals 2010. Stig Neergard & Risto Poutiainen crashed very badly. Both cars ended to the center line after finishing line and Stig pulled the chute straight on Risto's eyes and the cars hit each others. Poutiainen's car destroyed completely, and yes, it was brand new car. Stig's car didn't damage that bad. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZ9Auv5Aiyw This happened on Friday, at the second qualification round. Since there are four in total, Poutiainen's team started building a new car. Their times were disqualified, but after working the whole night and next day with help and parts from other teams, they were ready for the last Qualifying Round as the only guy that is out from the ladder. But Risto ran very nicely on that round taking the # 1 Qualifying Spot with the new car they had just built. On the Eliminations Risto ran to the Finals where Timo Lehtimäki beat him. The win marginal was a couple of thousands of a second. This is the Final Round. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuJ2Gbzl7W0 Then Timo Lehtimäki. Another fast TF Driver and this car is pretty consistant too. Anita Mäkelä. The only woman who has won the European Championship in Top Fuel. She started driving Competition class already in the '80s. Then Jari Halinen. "Jari started his drag racing career in 1984. Since then he has won several Finnish Chamionships, a nordic Championship, and run numerous records. Jari has driven dragsters and altereds in Competition class, and also Top Methanol Dragster before moving to Top Fuel in 2007." Then Antti Horto. "He started his race career in Junior Dragster in 1996. After some successful years he gained his Super Comp license in 2001, and won the Finish Championship the same year. In 2002 he took his Competiton Dragster license and competed in both B/D Dragster, where he finished no1, and Super Comp were he finished in third place." 2011 He drove Top Fuel license and this year he is the current leader in European Championships. And last - but not least, Janne Ahonen who has been Racing since 2003-2006 in Competition Eliminator, and 2006 he moved to Top Fuel Dragster.
