Thanks for the pictures of this kit. It's always nice to see these H-Bodies. You're correct, the body looks good from the pictures, but can't say the same thing from chassis and interior, especially the backseat doesn't look real. The AMT kit with that horrible box-art is better, especially the interior and chassis are better in that kit. This was sold in Spring 2012 ( ), it was very fun car with Chevy SmallBlock. Well, it's a '79 Skyhawk, but mostly they are same cars.

Turned out excellent! These Front Engine Dragsters are really nice and I like them more than Rear Engine Dragsters, too. Your paint work is amazing and really like that Coyote decal you did. Excellent detailing too.

Looks excellent! I'm so glad to see you back on the bench with this one, it will turn out fantastic. The seat looks very smooth to me, this is absolutely like "Building Every Part Like It Would Be A Model Itself". And that's great way, I should try it some point too, but meanwhile I keep drooling this one. -
I really like these Regals, Grand Nationals, GNX and other Buicks from that era. You did excellent job with the conversion, it looks like real deal to me. Nice paint and great detailing on the engine bay. I really like it. The wheels give nice finishing touches to this one. Very Nice! And picture limit is Five pics in one post.

Engine is installed now to the chassis, next I will put the engine bay together and install the Brake Master Cylinder and other parts. The body should be dry for Foiling soon, too.
-
Thanks Corey! Once you get the Funny Car build started, keep us posted . I got the Chi Town Hustler of four wheels. Rear axle fit very very nicely to the chassis, but I had some problems with the front axle. Anyway I got it assembled somehow. Actually those rear tires are just mocked up, the brakes are still missing but I had to test how it looks on four wheels.

A lot of Snow, but something Model Related too. This came in the Mail today. A Revell '71 GTX Glue Bomb and some Misc. Drag Racing parts, engines, headers etc. The GTX will be built bit rusty and it will be a project-car without engine or transmission.

I'm still trying to get my Camaro done, there's a lot of body work to do still. If everything goes well, I should have it painted soon and finished in time.
-
Thanks guys! Much appreciated. I've been in a hurry for the past few days with the school and other things as well. But I try to get some more work done today.
-
Well that's nice build of nice subject! I like the look, it's just right. That white and blue color combo fits nicely to this one and I like the engine detailing alot. Where are those front wheels from? I know AMT Double Dragster have 12 spoke wheels, but I wonder if that's not the only kit.

That looks GOOD. Nice body modifications, smooth lines on this Custom. Beautiful paint too, shiny, excellent color choice and it looks smooth too. Nice details and I like those exhaust pipes on the chassis. Keep 'em coming.
-
That looks good as always your builds do. Nice overall look, the stance is just right and I really like the detailing too. Excellent paint job and very nice detailing too.

I got this one yesterday. A '64 Dodge 330 Glue Bomb. I have to say thanks to ChevyCoupe41. It has Max Wedge and Slant Six engines and one set of '66 Malibu flames too. The chassis will be taken to '60 Dodge Phoenix, from the rest of the '64 Dodge I'm planning to do a tube frame Drag Car...

A fast picture I made, hope it does a justice. Thanks again for making this CBP so much fun and thanks all who voted for my Chrysler. Nice builds everyone.
-
Congratulations Zenrat. I actually voted for that Chevy Panel Truck too. Congrats to Lunajammer too. Wow! I wouldn't believed that I would get the Third place . And thanks to all who voted for my Chrysler!

At the start or end of a Drag Strip, this would look like 1:1. That is very nice combo of kitbashing/Scratchbuilding there, you did nice job, looks like factory made.
-
Fantastic build, but what else can you expect from such a Talented builder as John. That is incredible looking build, paint and detail is excellent as always. If I understood correctly, there is/was a 1:1 Car like this one? If there was, what class did it drive? A Funny Car?
-
That's nice as always, Darryl! I like the modifications you did, these Super Comp Roadsters are rarely seen in 1/25 scale, even if they're pretty popular in 1:1 scale. Not in Finland, though. Anyway your paint job is nice and that color suits nicely '55 Chevy body. Good Job.

www.gassermadness.com resource gone....

I noticed this few days ago too when I tried to go to GasserMadness Website. Very sad, it was great site. Wow, never heard of it, but absolutely incredible reference page. Especially that Pro Mod section is fantastic. Bookmarked. -
That's fantastic Top Fuel Bike. Incredible detailing, and the amount of scratchmade parts is amazing. I'm speechless.
-
That looks excellent to me. I like the color on it, it fits nicely to X-Frame Chevrolet even if I hadn't thought it before. Nice job with the detailing too and stance is just right. Keep them coming.

Nice Oldsmobile! You sure know how to make these realistic Junkers. A thing I'd like to learn too. What you use for rust-or what technigues you use to make it rusty? Also how did you make those windows looking like that? I have '67 Mustang Junker in the works, and I'd like to make it bit more realistic than it is now.
-
Thanks, Bruce. And yes, you're right. My skills are much better than they were like year ago. It's maybe because I've tried new technigues and new building materials. Also I have a Polishing set for paintjobs, so that makes bodies look much more shiny. Interior stuff this time. First I installed the Fire Extinguisher and made brackets for it from metal wire. Nice little detail I think. Then I started fabricating longer seat belts so they could be mounted to roll cage. But there was no crossmember on correct height, so I had to add one. That's just because if I mounted the belts on the original crossmember (Too close to interior floor), it would not be safe for the driver. So new one is made from styrene tubing, painted gloss black and seat belts are Wrap Around-type. I had no problems when assembling the roll cage together.

Thanks guys. Brian: It's not hard to beat my build quality. I'm miles away from most of you guys in this forum, but I'm trying to improve. Bill: Actually I saw that picture today when I came across your (?) WIP-thread of Chi Town Hustler on the ScaleAutoMagazine forum. The block sure looks orange. Today I was going to start the fuel line plumbing, but actually spent the most of the day searching my Braided Line. Finally found it and started making those fittings and fuel lines, but actually I managed to get only one fuel line end finished. And then I worked with the rear axle a bit, painted it red and installed the Wheelie Bars. Still need to do some paint touchups and install the axle tomorrow once the paint on that Driveshaft is dry.

Arnie Beswick 1962 Catalina interior colors
W-409 replied to gtx6970's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Really hard question. I didn't find anything from the Internet, so I decided to paint those like they Should Have Been. Colors are mixed from Revell and Humbroll Enamel paints.
