Weird cars!

I saw this one while visiting in Orlando, Florida last winter. Made me laugh. We were driving Lincoln Town Car. -
2012 Dodge Challenger Pro Mod Body...wip (updated 2.22.13)
W-409 replied to hOLMS's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Woo-Hoo, I've been waiting this one! You are doing incredible job with the Challenger. It looks like ProMod body, and very nice one. Can't wait for more. -
Yeah Thanks very much Bob, it took some time to find the pictures from my Photobuckets (I have two accounts, because the other one got stuck for year ago, and had to use another one for a while). I'd like to try using more photoetch and aftermarket parts on the engines, now I use only Battery cable connectors but nothing else. Maybe I should try adding more of those, it would make the engines bit better... Maybe. I like to build all details from different kinds of Aftermarket wires, or regular electric wires and sheet aluminium. Hose clamps are BMF.

"I do believe that Santa's sleigh gotta have a Big Block Chevrolet, if it's gonna make around the world on Christmas day...." Excellent and really fun build. My hat is off. And Merry Christmas.
-
Thanks Cole. My stupid computer has somekind of problem, when I tried to upload pics to PhotoBucket, it shut down and took 20 minutes to start up again. So don't shoot me if I have some problems with the pics. Body is Foiled now, it turned out Okay, could be better but Now I have to live with it. Now I have to remove fingerprints of it and add decals and shoot a clearcoat. Hope these Pics show.

Thanks for the comments everyone! Engine bay detailing is maybe one of my favorite things in Model Building. Well not always, I don't really like scratchbuilding fittings for fuel lines (see the Chi Town Huslter on Drag-Section). I should get a bunch of projects done early 2013, I have '71 Cuda Pro Stock, '53 Hudson, '64 Belvedere and the Chi Town Hustler planned for early 2013. And more to come.
-
Thanks Dave ! Update for the Hustler. I managed to get some more Fuel Lines done. Not the funniest thing in Model Building I guess, there's a lot of little parts on those fuel lines, and more to come. I should have another update soon.
-
Thanks Jon, and I agree with you. It's great to see different cars than always Petty cars (There's nothing wrong with them either). But after I get this one completed, I will start hacking with Petty '67 Torino Talladega. I got started the BMF work with this one yesterday. I have still more work to do with that, but I'm trying to get it foiled today, stay tuned.

Very Nice GTO. It turned out really nice Bracket Car, the overall look is very nice and clean. Really like the color and paint job too. It's always nice to see these Sportsman Class Racers too, even if I like seeing Pro Mods and other fast Doorslammers etc too. Good Job.
-
Can't go wrong with Bubbletop Chevy Super Stocker, or 409. That looks fantastic to me, paint and detail is really nice. It looks very clean build overall, one of my favorites I've seen in a while. Really nice one.
-
Thanks Guys ! If I remember correctly, I got one more finished in 2011, but as long as I have over 10 builds in one year, I'm very happy. But of course it's all about quality, and I've improved alot this year. Thanks.

Looks Good! The kit is great, except the engine is not perfect, but otherwise I really like it. I'm building one myself too, I'm tuned in to get some inspiration. So far your work looks excellent, nice paint job on it, those decals are really nice too.

Now it's diesels with those BIG pipes.

Here in Finland, Duramax Diesel Pickup Truck. And Mercedes Benz B/Street Drag Racer: -
And the last one was '57 Chrysler 300C for Cannonball Rally. Suprisingly, it took the third place on that Race! Thanks for everyone who voted this one! It's built from AMT kit with little modifications to make it look a bit like old Stock Cars with steelies. Thanks for Looking in and comments are of course welcomed & Appreciated.

After the Pontiac I decided to add a little more power for '59 Simca with Blown Hemi and other parts from Revell Miss Deal Studebaker kit. Tons of modifications were done with the interior, engine and chassis, and it was very fun build.
-
Thanx, Bob! Here's some more. The 8th build was '67 Impala SS from AMT kit. I changed the tires because kit's original tires were too small, and added some details. Other than that it's basic BoxStock build. Kit is great too, but watch the body-chassis fit very closely. The 9th build was Arnie Beswick's Packer Pontiac Super Stocker. Well it's not 100% finished, the hood is still in the paint booth, but I count it finished this year though. I added details to the kit, but otherwise it's box stock build.
-
The 6th Finished build was Revell's Hemi Dart. Very nice kit, I added some details to it but no more special things. I wanted to build a car that could have raced on Nostalgia Events nowadays. After the Hemi Dart I built Slingshot Dragster from AMT Double Dragster kit. I tried to replicate the Old School look on this one, not my best quality builds, but I still like it very much. I added some details, polished the paint and other basic stuff.

The 4th build was very fast and simple after that Nova. It has Bugatti body and Chevy SmallBlock with many modifications and scratchbuilt parts. It was built in two or three or four days, can't remember correctly, but a fast build between more serious projects. Then I built Revell's Kenworth W900 which I bought from Daytona Beach, Florida. No special details on this one, but very fun build to complete. My first (But not the last) Truck build.

Here is a Thread about my Finished builds for 2012. Looks like I can't get the Gumball Camaro finished since there's too much bodywork to get completed on time. There are 11 builds in Total, if I count right. 1st was the VW 1300, built for GrandFather as a Birthday Gift. Box Stock except of Finnish License Plates. The 2nd build was the Austin Mini built for another GrandFather as a Birthday Gift. Pretty much Box Stock except for plug wires and I drilled those wheel-holes open and changed Finnish License plates. The 3rd one was F/Stock Nova Drag Racer. A lot of modifications were done to get it as realistic NHRA Stocker which could run good times in the Strip. It may look Box Stock, but it is not.

I just bought MPC Fire Fighter Mustang Glue Bomb, which has a body what is molded to blue as you see in the pictures. It doesn't completely look like Fire Fighter kit's body, so you tell me from what kit it is. Previous owner has cut the front end off from it.
-
Fire Fighter Mustang Glue Bomb and three pairs of 9" slicks. I actually think the body is not from Fire Fighter Mustang, I'll post a question of it in Modeling Q&A section, see better pics of it there.

Charles Carpenters 1955 Chevy Pro Mod......FINISHED...06/09/13
W-409 replied to tyrone's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
This will be interesting, A Friend for the '57 Chevy ProMod. I'll be watching this one very closely, you do excellent job with the frame. It looks very good already. What body is that, it looks like resin from the underside, but.......? -
1. '62 Chevrolet Bel Air Bubbletop with 409 and Manual transmission. Dogdish hubcaps and steelies with very high profile tires. One of the most beautiful cars ever made. 2. '60 Chevrolet Impala HardTop with 348 W-Block and TriPower. My dad has one, with 283 SBC and Powerglide though, but it's very nice car and I'd like to have one with the W-Block. It would be with same kind of tires and wheels as the '62 Bubbletop. 3. '63 Chevrolet Impala Z-11 Stocker with 427 Mystery Motor and Manual transmission. It would be my Race Car here, one of the nicest cars ever made, too. 4. '71 Buick GSX Stage One with 455 Big Block. Yellow paint of course. I guess this is pretty clear choice, maybe nicest Buick ever produced. 5. '79 Jeep Wagoneer. This would be a car for the Winter here in Finland. ...And currently I'm just waiting for the Driver's License age, but meanwhile I'm driving a '80 Tunturi Trial.

Thanks John and Ron! Interesting information too, thanks for that too. Today I was working with the fuel lines for this thing. There's a lot of work to do before they're complete so I don't have a picture yet. Hope to have more done tomorrow and some pictures for you too.
