  1. Red, Blue and Orange are very good colors for this body style of Nova. Yellow isn't bad either, like this Finnish Nova. Anyways I painted mine orange: Yours look Very nice in Primer! Can't wait for more.
  2. Hey, Thanks Rob! I'm very happy about the paint job too, maybe my best one so far. These Maston spray-paints are good stuff for polishing too, they turn out shiny and smooth. I bought my Polishing kit from Model Car Import which is here in Finland. Looks like it can be bought from here, too. http://micro-surface.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=188_189&products_id=75 Of course there are other polishing kits too, but this one works very well for me. And yet another update, the last one for today I promise. I won't tease you anymore. ...Until tomorrow or Tuesday. So I got the body on the chassis. It was overall quite easy job to do, but the firewall wasn't easy to get right. It was too wide to install when chassis was in correct place when looking the front-back position. I had to pull the chassis back, so the firewall's Blower motor and that Brake component could pass the inner fenders, then pull the chassis in correct position. But when you're careful, nothing will broke. Here are few (Bad) pictures.
  3. Another Update, now it's coming along fast! I got the chassis ready to be installed under the body. Firewall is painted white and black. I painted the wiring too, not fun to do but looks Okay after it was installed. Also painted the molded in wires from driver's side inner fender. Horrible job to do, too. Why those need to be always molded in? Windows are installed too. The windshield fits really nicely, but rear-glass doesn't fit so well. There's a gap on the up-or down of the glass.
  4. Very nice work! I always like following these "Out Of The Box" type of projects... Your Long-Bed looks excellent, nice conversion. Paint will be very tricky job, but I guess you'll make it. Are you going to go with those wheels, they look quite different than those 1:1 wheels, or does that 1:1 Pickup have normally that kind of wheels that you have under this one?
  5. Heh, Thanks Matthew! I used this Polishing kit (Picture below) and polished up to 8000 grit, after that I waxed the paint job and that's the result. It makes some nice paint jobs and it's quite easy too. Even I managed to get nice paint jobs with a little practising! Your 'Vette looks very good too!
  6. That's nicely done Cuda Funny Car! Nice paint and detailing on it, very cleanly built too. I mean that parts fit nicely to each other and that kind of basic stuff, which sometimes causes trouble to me.
  7. I haven't painted many cars black, since it's very hard color to get right. I have few Black cars on the works now, but these three are already finished. Matt Black '32 Ford Rat Roadster. Sectioned & Channeled, windshield frame scratchbuilt and chopped, smoothed, etc etc. MPC SnapTite '50 Mercury. Box Stock except for the tires. And then Arii's 1/32 Scale Prince Gloria Mild Custom. I lowered it as much as possible without huge modifications, still it's bit too high.
  8. Looks great! Nice Idea and very well done build, too. Especially I like the color, well red of course, but the shade of it is perfect. Nice, clean build. If it doesn't fly, then I hope you have Snow-Chains for the tires.
  9. That turned out great! I enjoyed alot to see it come together, and the end result is impressive. Your decaling job turned out very well, details are very sharp too. I like those seperate body panels, too.
  10. BMF Is applied to the body now! It came out Okay, could be better and not my bests, but still it looks decent. I also painted those 300C badges from those side trims. After taking pictures, I painted the body from underside. Firewall is painted, too. Tomorrow I will install the glass-parts to it.
  11. What Paint is that , on the frame? It looks excellent shade of brown/silver. Excellent work, as always, Tyrone! I'm tuned in for more to come, your builds always impress me. And this body style is maybe the nicest Nova.
  12. Also I got the interior finished. Of course first I had to put it back together after that little crash, then add some finishing touches, like rear view mirror and Tachometer. Once I get the body Foiled, painted from the underside, glasses installed, I can put these two components together, except that the Firewall is still missing. One More:
  13. That's sad to hear, it was turning out so nice. Well, hopefully it'll come back even nicer-if possible. Not sure if I'm going to make it either, but I'm trying to. Today got the whole body polished, and I have to say that I'm pretty happy about the result. Now I will put some Bare Metal Foil on it, and hope to have another set of pictures still tonight.
  14. Ouch, I was sure it was Model! It looked like one, so simple and smooth, that it just didn't look real. Also, there are so many chrome parts that it made me to say Model.
  15. Glad it could help someone! Jim: The transparent paper should be easy to find, I guess most of the houses (At least in Finland) have that one. It's that paper, what's used when you put something to the oven, and what you put on the Baking tray. I guess every paper what is transparent, works well if it wont melt with the lights. Pat: Yeah, I'm still trying to get the camera setting right for the new booth, thanks for the help! Jacen: Yep, I've used that method for a long time too, but I've noticed that my Models look much worse in the pictures, as they are in real life. Maybe it's because of my camera, but that booth makes life much easier. Now I can take pictures with same settings every time, without any adjusting or fear that pictures look bad.
  16. Well this is interesting! Didn't visit in your Fotki page, since I'd like to follow it in this topic. Excellent start with it, how fast these Top Fuel Bikes are in the USA? Here in Finland, Ian King drove 6,1 ET with his TF-Bike, here's my video of it. Peter Svensson has driven high 5's also, on 1/4 Mile in Sweden.
  17. I hope this helps someone. It took me little less than one hour to make it, and it won't cost too much. Worth trying.
  18. After cutting, you should end up to something like this. Mine is not that bad looking in live, picture makes it look rougher than it is. The next step might be the hardest thing. Cover the sides of that paint booth with white paper, it must be correct sized. Then find correct size poster, and that will be your "Floor" and the back wall. It needs to be one piece, of course, otherwise there will be disturbing seams on it. Then find some transparent paper, and tape the holes "closed". Here is the finished Photo Booth in action! Those lights are someones that I found from the Garage. Now you'll have one light on the top, and two on the sides. There will be no too noticeable shadows or anything. Models look quite good in here, and it's easier to camera to focus on the object, when there's no unnecessary stuff in the back.
  19. I tried to search, but I didn't find this kind of Photo Booth-thread. I hope this helps someone who has issues with taking good photos. So I made a Photo Booth, that's easy and takes only a little time. And it's very cheap too. What You need, is a cardboard box, some white paper, big white poster or some other big (white) paper or cardboard and Transparent paper. Oh and of course three lights. Tools you'll need: -Tapes, strong tape and then invisible (Non colored) tape. -Scissors -A Ruler. -A Knife. -Black Sharpie. And here is the box: Start by Cutting one end of the box open. Then you'll need to cut holes to the box, otherwise it will be too dark. Draw the lines where to cut with black sharpie and ruler. ...And then just cut.
  20. I agree with what Nick said. This forum has excellent sub-categories and there are very nice people and so on. I really like the place. I can understand, that bikes could have own section, just like Drag Racing Models or NASCARS. Personally, even if I like to see all kinds of models, I don't visit this category very often. Maybe it's just because I don't have enough time or something. But every subject can't have own category, and since it's Model CAR forum, I think bikes fit well under this category, too.
  21. That's excellent looking Camaro. Just what I've been planning to my first 1:1 car. It could pass real car, if photographed on asphalt road or something like that. I can't believe how someone can make that nice paint jobs, too! I've been polishing my '57 Chrysler today for long time, and it still looks like matte finish if compared to this one.
  22. You do excellent work with this build! The detail and craftmanship is near perfection! I'm enjoying this one alot, can't wait to see more progress.
  23. Not in Drag Racing ! Penalties are really rare there, and there are no pit stops during the 1/4 mile track. But you're right, it's the problem in many other motorsports, that's why I actually don't seem to follow them anymore. I used to watch Rally, but nowadays it's very boring, because there's only Ford and Citroen. Only way I like Rally is Finnish Historic Rallys and F-Cup. F-Cup is mostly MK2 Escorts, but it's nice to follow when there are lots of powerful rear wheel drive cars. Anyway, I watched a bit of that Formula race too, those few highlights that were shown here in Finland for free channel. If you pay, you can get a channel where is possible to watch the whole race, but I'm not that interested on it. F1 is funniest in Monaco and if it rains.
  24. Yeah, excellent build, as always! Your work inspires me every time, these builds are just so clean and very nicely done-subjects are interesting too. Very nice job with those red stripes, and overall clean build. From here the Alclad brass looks good too.
  25. Excellent progress, everyone! These last two weeks seems to be the most active time in this topic. I needed to show you that I'm still trying to make this finished for the start of this year's Rally. Chassis is almost in the same condition as it was before that little crash, and started polishing the body too. The top and trunk lid are polished, I'm quite happy about them. I will polish the sides tomorrow.
