  1. As Terry said, I bet the driver would not feel cold in there. Very cool and unique build, that Jet engine looks very nicely done, and I like the carbon fiber on that body too. Excellent build.
  2. Today I was able to get that body painted. I'm not completely happy about that result, maybe Maston's white paint hates me. Every body that I have painted with it, has turned out bad, or at least something that I'm not completely happy about. This is one of the bests with that paint, but however I can't be completely happy with it. Maybe decals, clear and polishing will make it good, hopefully it'll go like that. And started the chassis assembly, too. Engine sits very nicely on place, but upper A-Arms were really tricky to get fit right. Cutting the locator pins was needed to make them fit. Same problem with the exhaust so far, they don't fit at all. And other one is badly in the picture, I haven't glued it to the exhaust manifold yet. Frame is also glued to the chassis. On the next update this should be on four wheels. Compare with another Hemi I have on the bench.
  3. Looks Great! Love the color and that hood scoop too. These cars are really popular in the USA Drag Strips and that's why I'm suprised that they can't be seen much in this scale. But good to see yours, it looks great. Can't wait to see more.
  4. That's Excellent, as always, Ray! I really like the color combo and paint job. The overall smoothness of this body is nice too, these '48 Fords just are very nice cars. Very nice build, not too crazy about the Continental kit, but otherwise I like everything about it.
  5. This turned out fantastic, Bruce. I really like the concept on this one and your builds always inspire me. Thanks for sharing this one, the paint and detail & Overall look is excellent.
  6. Nice! Excellent building style on this one, I like these '50's Customs alot. Great paint job and nice wheels and tires-or actually, those look more like Hubcaps for me. Excellent build.
  7. Here we go again, an update to my Chrysler 300C. The body is primered. There were not many mold lines to sand or any other cleanup-things on the body. First I sprayed one coat of Grey primer, it looked smooth so then I painted white primer. Why I do like this is because Maston white primer don't show the mistakes so well as the grey one. The white is because the body will be white, and it will cover that easier than grey. I hope to have it painted tomorrow. Also painted the chassis with "Red Oxide Primer" and shooted some overspray to it. Not too happy with it, since it's done with spray can and it looks way too rough, I mean that the spray should be much finer. But that's the best I could do with spray cans. Frame is painted too and so are all chassis parts, tomorrow it will start to pop up together.
  8. Yeah! THAT looks good! New wheels and those slicks really do look better. Are you going to paint those spokes with somekind of Gun Metal paint, they look more Old School like that, but they look great like that too. Anyway you do, it will look fantastic. Keep on the good work.
  9. Yep, drilling holes is a "Must". For the distributor or magneto, drill one small hole for each wire, same thing in every other places. One big hole can make it easier to drill, but nothing more. It looks better when there are many holes too, much more realistic. I think you would get a lot more answers for this question in the Drag Racing Models-section. There are many talented builders, who will help you. But here you go few pictures, to get started. http://www.pbase.com/gsaf/1970s_funny_cars_bw
  10. This is cool project. Always liked the look of '64 GTO and yes, I've built one too with Hillborn Fuel Injection. Anyways, your project looks great so far, that roll bar is shaping up nicely! And I would absolutely keep those aluminium heads because they just fit much better to Race Car than any others (except in Stocker !). And maybe finding a pair of rear slicks would be easier than making those as "Slicks". The shape of the side of that tire doesn't look like Slicks tire even if the tread is removed. But all in all, very nice build, I will be watching very closely!
  11. I'm going back to the original subject a little- Yes, I'm 15 years old currently. About a month time, I will be 16. Well I mostly build in the Drag section, right now in the CBP section too, if someone is wondering if there is nothing at my bench. That will not happen!
  12. What a waste of Dodge Charger.
  13. Looks great, this is going to be another fantastic build from your bench. The engine is looking good already, even without paint. Can't wait to see more.
  14. Great info-Thanks, John! Not sure yet about the powerplant or transmission, but it will take some time before it is on the bench anyway.
  15. Yeah, thanks! That's what I'll be doing. Just need to find that chassis somewhere, I mean that it's hard to get any parts what you're looking for in Finland. People have parts in their stashes, I'm sure about it, but very few people offer them to others.
  16. Oh, I can see those pics in this forum too, and glad to hear that you were able to see them too. But anyway, here is the link to Allpar-page: http://www.allpar.co...dodge/1960.html. Well thanks for the information again, I will start looking one AMT Belvedere kit. And yeah, Shop Manual would be good one too, but you know they are hard to get here in Finland. Especially when the car is bit more rare than 1st Generation Camaro or something.... And shipping from the states costs alot. EDIT: Good information, Bill! It's great to have more possible kits where to get chassis, then it's easier to find what I'm looking for. Adjusting the wheelbase should not be too hard, so that looks like good basis too.
  17. Another interesting build from you bench, Roger! What body is that? Somekind of Snaptite? I'm building one '71 Cuda Pro Stock currently and actually it's almost ready for paint, so I will keep close eye to this one.
  18. Thanks, Bill! That is excellent information, and thanks for the Allpar.com link. Never heard of it, but looks very good and gave me some results. I tried to search from eBay Motors, but currently there were no '60 Darts/ Phoenix's for sale. However, the Allpar.com results lead me to these questions: I found these pictures: So that's what the chassis should look like? And if AMT '58 Plymouth would be almost correct, it would be great because then I should not get another rare kit or something for the chassis of this one. It is really nice car.
  19. I just bought Jo-Han '60 Dodge Phoenix, and I'd like to add more details to it, like good chassis and engine bay. My question is, that is there a frame in '60 Dodge Phoenix or is it unibody? I tried to Google search, but without any results.
  20. If you're going to make Tube Frame Drag Truck, then I would suggest you to see this one: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=56886 . There is scratchbuilt tube frame and with same method, it can be built to Truck too, of course. There are other very nice and helpful builds and builders in the Drag section.
  21. That turned out great! As someone can already guess, I like the subject alot, there can never be too much Stockers or Super Stockers. You did great job on that paint and decals, and I really like that engine detail. Sharp build.
  22. Thanks, Nate! I'm now in situation where I have to start cutting that front axle piece. The engine doesn't fit there otherwise because of that deep oil pan... Once I get that done, there should not be much cutting left in this build. And yeah, I need the stock taillight panel for this one.
  23. Went to local Model Car Show/Contest: -'59 Dodge Phoenix (JoHan?) -'64 Ford Thunderbolt By Revell. -FCMA (Finnish Car Modelers Association) license plates. They are made in the USA and Rik Hoving has been in the making progress. -4 Chevy Big Blocks. Two of them are with Blower. -One Funny Car Hemi with Blower. -About 14/71 Blower, made from Metal. -Some spark plug wire harness. -Racing Seatbelt material with buckles and belt. -Photo Etch Carburetor details. -Two rear axles. -One Hood scoop. -4 Pairs of slicks, mostly 9" wide. -Centerline wheels -Hemi Thunder decals.
  24. You should have said that earlier . How about '73 AMC Javelin chassis, could that be taken from AMT's Mustang? I have one of them too, and that chassis needs a lot more work than AMX chassis, since there are also molded in exhaust pipes (what the Drag On Lady AMX doesn't have.)
  25. That transmission looks fantastic, Joe! This build is coming along very nicely... I'm sure it'll be excellent when finished, the chassis is looking so good already!
