I started making the hood for my Super Stock Mustang. I cut that original scoop of, and glued it back to different position, so it's bit higher now. All I need is some styrene and bondo to make it finished, now it's still in rough stages. Also primered the valve covers, but I don't have pics of them yet. This is how it should look when finished:

Thanx, Darryl, Terry and Bruno! Comments are really appreciated. I got the throttle linkage almost done. Little cleaning and other minimal things need to be done, but otherwise it's pretty much there. It looks better than I thought, so I guess it will stay there too. Now I'm going to move to the other side of that carburetor, to work with the fuel line. I also installed the tachometer. It's found from my parts box, and I scratchbuilt the shift light from plastic tubing. I wired it just like 1:1 tachometer is wired, just need to add the cauge decal for it and call it done. Interior needs some touchups and little details before it's done.

Well that's beautiful! I guess Box Stock can't be built much better than that, as Harry said. Fantastic paint job, as always in your builds. I like the overall clean look, too.

Chuck pretty much said what I was going to say. When I get this/these kit(s), one must be built to Custom, of course. This is just too good basis for that one, even if there is already Custom '50 Olds Factory on this forum. Other one will be Stock Car, just because it's included in the kit and Stock Cars are cool too. And the third one will be Gasser, of course. And Maybe one Stock version, if I'm still interested of building 4th Olds.

Whoops, sorry. Posted wrong picture.

Thanks, Michael! Can't wait to see more of your Vette-build, too. But no pressures. Yeah, more builds wanted. I'm going to start another one soon.
-
Well that's cool! I'd like to have one, this is one of the nicest Pro Stocks nowadays (but can't beat the Camaro).
-
Then this Buick Skylark driven by Noora Laine. Runs in K/SA and the best ET is about 12,3. Tarja Gynther's Chevy Camaro, runs in E/SA if I remember correctly. Iiro Mikkola's Chevy Nova: Jarmo Markkanen's Pontiac Firebird (the Green one). Bought from Jim Waldo. It ran 0,99 under the index this year, not bad I would say. Before changing to that Firebird, Jarmo Markkanen drove this '69 Nova for 19 years. Actually in that picture, Markkanen has already sold the Nova and driver is Daniel Nyling, but it looks the same as it did when Jarmo Markkanen was driving.
-
Then this '71 Chevelle, driven by Hannu Palasmaa in A/S. Then '67 Camaro SS/HA (if I remember correctly.) This year it was driven by Anna Kaisa Manninen.

Thanx, Dave! Here's some more: My Favorite car category, Stock/Super Stock (yes, they drive together here in Finland). FHRA and NHRA Rules are the same, so I guess there's no need to explain them. We have many great cars here in Finland, here they come: First Timo Eronen's SS/AH Hemi Barracuda. Goes 8,9 times. Then Arto Sulopuisto's B/S Pontiac Firebird. Tarmo Mikkola's Camaro, runs in Super Stock, but can't remember the class. Goes high 9's anyway. Yrjö Wallius' Rambler American runs in SS/J and goes low 10's/high 9's.

AMT '58 Plymouth Belvedere CHRISTINE kit
W-409 replied to cooltoys1's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
What is wrong with this kit then? Hood fit was only mistake that I found when I built this one few years ago. -
Thanks, Brett! And I do agree, the interior is one of my best ones so far. Of course it's not done yet, but I hope it will be soon. I started building the throttle linkage for that carburetor. I made some parts from sheet aluminium and somekind of metal wire. I don't know if I have to redo it, let's see when I try to add more parts for that one. I also moved the hole for fuel line to right place. I will covered the old one with styrene tubing, I have to cover it with BMF later, so it will be same shade as the whole carburetor is.

Thanks, and yeah, I'm really looking forward to that moment, when the Chevelle is ready to race. Dad will drive few races first, then I will drive my license and then we can fight about who is driving the rest of those races. Here are few pics of the Chevelle-project: http://tapahtumakuvia.kuvat.fi/kuvat/74+Chevrolet+Chevelle+Stocker/ And Wow, '64 Dodge would be very cool Stocker too, what engine is it running? Can't wait to see when you start building replica of it. You managed to get me going again with my E/Stock Torino project.... I'll post few pics soon.

Yeah, the Rulebook really helps alot! I have NHRA 2012 Rulebook too, as well as FHRA 2012 Rulebook (FHRA=Finnish Hot Rod Association) and they do help a lot. Other thing what really makes things easier, is that currently I'm building 1:1 scale Stocker ('74 Chevelle, will run in K/SA) with my father, and we are trying to get it running for the next season. Me too! There can never be too many Stockers or Super Stockers. I'm trying to build them too, because so far I have only '69 Nova F/Stock and '68 Hemi Dart SS/B completed (well I have also '64 Dodge 330 but it's older build). Sorry about this little offtopic.

Seats look fantastic! They look like real ones to me, they look "soft"-as they are in 1:1 cars. The wood effect looks great, too. Keep coming, I always enjoy following your builds.
-
Thanks for the picture! I have to score one and see what I can do with it. In some point. I'd like to build Sammy Miller's Vanishing Point Vega Funny Car which ran 3,54 (if I remember correctly) in Santa Pod, England on the 80's.

Everyone should be really supportive with these, both look spectacular ! Can't wait to see more.

1950 oldsmobile custom finished! 02/1/2013
W-409 replied to streetmachine11's topic in WIP: Model Cars
X2. But as said earlier, I really like the body lines, you did fantastic job with chopping that one, very nice! -
Fantastic job with the Nova! Subject couldn't be any better either. Also I'm glad to hear that it will not be your last Stocker. Engine detail looks great, color is nice and those sponsors make it look like typical Stock Eliminator Drag Racer. Maybe those front tires are bit too wide, since real FrontRunners are very narrow? And what carburetor is that? It should be Rochester, that looks like Holley to me? But overall, fantastic job, one of my favorite builds for a while in here!

AMT '58 Plymouth Belvedere CHRISTINE kit
W-409 replied to cooltoys1's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
But isn't it Stephen King, not Steven? I'm looking forward for this one, even if it's just a re-release with different box art, I built the kit years ago and enjoyed alot. -
1/16 Scale Army Vega Funny Car - Finished 10/14/2018
W-409 replied to Mooneyzs's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Fantastic Work, as Always, Chris! You do great job, and that rear axle looks perfect to me. Just like real thing. Paint and everything looks absolutely incredible for me. Keep up the fantastic work with this one, I can't wait to see more! -
Now THAT's cool! I like the carbon fiber on the body and scalloops fit very nicely too. Fantastic work with the Jet engine too, looks like a real deal. Do you have a picture of that kit, where that Jet Engine was included?
-
Ray: Thanks! You're right, that chassis is very handy to fit inside other body. Now I have one Studebaker body laying around, I guess I should plan something wild from that, too. I'm so glad that they release that Miss Deal Funny Car again! Matti, Thanx, Don't know about our next Community Builds yet, but I'll start thinking about it. Send me a PM on FCMA, and let's think more. And thanks Michael! These are very fun to build, when there's no RuleBook on the right hand. I'd like to do another one. Scott... Thanks! The burnt rubber is one of my favorite parts, too. Brett and David, Thank You, Too!

This is starting to shape up very nicely! Your builds are always fantastic to see, I can't wait for more. So far the work with that frame and rear axle looks cool.

1/25 Revell '67 Dodge Coronet- Foose Edition
W-409 replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Are there Stock Wheels included? If there are Stock wheels and tires, then this is worth buying as other versions of Revell's Coronet.
