  1. I'm going to follow this one very closely! I like the Chop Top idea, because when this kind of car is lowered, it looks much better when there's not too much head clearance. Your Chop looks great, just low enough, but not too low. Was it hard to chop? I've chopped one '49 Mercury by AMT and that wasn't very simple-not planning to do that kind of job again, but with this car I might have to do it though. Your proves that it looks great when chopped, even if it's still in rough stages.
  2. Thanks Romell, Dominik, Eric and Corey! Dominik: Well, it will be kind of Sleeper look, since the hood will be equipped with just very low Cowl Induction Scoop and body will be in original shape, no cutting or making it more aerodynamic for this one, I think. I'm not sure about the paint scheme yet, but maybe original White with Blue stripes or something, let's see. Corey: I must try to get that front end fitting little better as it is now. I have few ideas what I'm going to try, but I really don't know if they work or not. You did great job on your Dart, the flip nose looks very good in that one.
  3. This looks fantastic! It looks much better as "non Turbine version". Funny Car Frame fits nicely inside the body and I like the engine detail alot. You gave me an interesting idea, I have one Turbine Car Gluebomb, which was going to be Custom, but since I don't have good chassis or interior for it.........
  4. That Moebius Models' Ford Ranger would make cool "Hillbilly Pickup", bit rusty and dusty and equipped with a Shotgun, of course. I'm really looking forward to all of those, but the Ford Pickup is maybe the best one. Those kits from Moebius are always top quality, and that is already enough to buy their kit. And when the subject is interesting, I can't wait to see one on my Bench. Needs to build also one Rat Roadster, and pick another one for parts. Oh man, that will be another very pricey year for me...
  5. Thanks, Matti, Tyrone and Rob! This thing is now in a "hold" for a while, since I've decided to go with TDR Turbos instead of scratchbuilt ones. So now I can't do much things with this, a little chassis work could be done, especially with the rear suspension. But the engine is not getting further for a while. Just in case anyone is thinking, is this build forgotten, no it's not.
  6. Alright, thanks Joe. I will pick one bottle of Model Masters' paint and try what I can do.
  7. Wow, thanks Simon! There can never be enough sponsor decals. I have made my own decal sheets, too and they work fine but are hard to make. I have to get one or two of those sets soon, thanks for the tip!
  8. I hope you don't close this thread with in few years time. Mine is coming along S-l-o-w-l-y. I have some important parts missing, like the wheels and front tires, also there are lots of modifications needed in the engine. I'm trying to build this one too, but right now I'm finishing a bunch of projects, so I'm not able to build my Super Stock Mustang for a while, but I will try to get back to it.
  9. Great Thanks, Bill! Whole kit looks pretty good to me, even if it wouldn't be too great quality. Needs to start looking for decal sheet, or maybe whole kit, if I can find cheap one. But, here is Part Two. Other decal sheet, where are lots of decals missing, but I can see that there are great sponsor decals for Drag Racers, especially the Don Hampton Blowers decal. Maybe this should be in the Drag section, but I would not like to make another thread of same subject. Any help would be appreciated.
  10. Agreed! Very nice to see especially that Jukebox Ford being reissued. Also I can see bit weathered, rusty and crusty Mercury, a Light Commercial type of car, or then very clean SurfWagon in my bench.
  11. Yeah, heh, I saw actually that you were not a driver, since I haven't seen any Gareths driving Top Fuel in Alastaro. We have always liked Stock & Super Stock cars, since they are always nicely finished and body modifications are not allowed. And even if they're not the most powerful cars in the world, they're fast and they do nice wheelstands etc. I also like those engines with original carburetors, intake manifolds etc. Here's a video of Top Fuel Qualification at 2012 Nitro Nationals. Finnish Drivers took all of the places from 1 to 6.
  12. I have this decal sheet laying around, and I'd like to know that where is it from, since I'd like to have more of these decal sheets. So, This kind of decal sheet with Rebel Flags and those blue stripes with stars. You can see that few decals have been cut off and I used them in my Corvette build about an year ago. Any Help Would Be Appreciated!
  13. And last, Hollow Heads' Altered 8,7 second run, team's personal best, I guess (and a massive break out with 9,11 index.). [media=] As I said above, next I'm going to move on to Street!
  14. Wow, what Dragster you had with you? I like seeing the race also from the hill, but especially in the Nitro Nationals, when it's full of people it's bit difficult to see. So we've been many times on the other side of the track sitting in the grandstand (?). Next year I might be the mechanic, my dad will drive Stock Eliminator with '74 Chevelle. Well, not much compared to Top Fuel Dragster, but pretty cool anyway. Okay, last videos from SPET Car Category, then I will move on to another favorite group of mine: Street! First, one video of Hannu Tekoniemi & AMC Javelin SST. And pretty long burnout, too. Then one video where you can see Rust Racing '26 Ford T and '28 Ford Funny Car. And Huge burnout by Jukka Mattila in '26 T Ford. [media=]
  15. Engine looks fantastic ! Roll cage can be fairly simple in this kind of car. For my '57 Nomad Gasser that I did few years ago, I fabricated simple roll bar (bit like in your Simca). That should be enough, I guess. Little inspiration: I managed to get decals on, only a few sponsors this time. They were old decals and were quite difficult to get set right, but they're okay and I'm planning to clear coat this one tomorrow. Also I got the battery installed.
  16. Yes, Larry Larson's Nova is another fast "Street Car". I liked the video where he was cruising in Las Vegas city, too.
  17. I got this kit about a week ago. It's really fantastic kit, everything looks very good and sharp to me. Just like the '53 Hudson, this one looks great. I'm starting building this one now, but I need reference pictures. Especially the engine bay, interior and exterior shots, too, are hard to find. I've already found few of them, but I'd like to see more. I'll be building the 1952 Late Season version, as I think it looks the best. Pictures of all parts in the kit, can be found here: http://s1038.beta.photobucket.com/user/VintageDragRace/library/52%20Marshall%20Teague%20Fabulous%20Hudson%20Hornet Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  18. Thanks for the great Unboxing video, Doctor! This kit looks like Must Have. Needs to get some money for it and try to find one from Finland. Your comments about this kit are so great, that I can't wait to have one. While waiting, I might start the Fabulous Hudson Hornet.
  19. Never built a Prepainted kit, or modified DieCasts, but after the F/Stock Eliminator Nova which was very long project and built with NHRA RuleBook, I decided to do something really different. I took somekind of Bugatti glue bomb, or actually, what was left of it, glue bomb Chevy Small Block and built kind of What If Style Dragster from it with in four days or something. It was very fun and relaxing build. It looks like a fast build too, but it was just for fun. I'd like to try building DieCast car, too.
  20. I just tried to mix a little thinner and Revell Clear Blue, result was very good. It's actually very easy and you can adjust how much heat staining you want by adding more thinner, or more paint. I have to try those Tamiya paints too, even if this way seems to work fine for me too.
  21. Very nice El Camino you got there. Excellent paint job and I like the style of this one. There are already enough modern Pro Touring style builds, this one is just perfect styled.
  22. Since Jeff Already posted some Vintage Drag Race style Oldsmobiles, I will post another kind of Drag car. Custom would be cool too, is anyone making conversion kit for this kind of build, it's actually '48 but still looks great. It's built originally in Finland, I guess it was late 70's or early 80's.
  23. I think that's very cool. Even if the paint job is not my taste, but otherwise really cool Vette. My opinion is, that we have seen a lot of Factory Stock (or at least almost Factory Stock) Corvettes from '63-'67. They look all the same, or at least pretty much the same so little difference is not bad thing. As long as the body is pretty much factory stock looking, I mean that there are no any kinds of things that can't be returned back to normal easily, like fender widenings, it's all good in this kind of vehicle. Not wanting to start a fight, not trying to say that my opinion is the right one or anything like that, just wanted to let you know what I think.
  24. Looking good. This is going to be another masterpiece from your bench. I'm a fan of your work, your builds are always very clean and nice with excellent paint jobs and overall finishes. I'm sure this one will be beautiful too. You're doing very nice job so far, this is interesting subejct, keep it going.
  25. What did you use for painting those tires? They look Very good to me, just like rubber. I have few builds where I have to paint tires, and your painting looks just right.
