Sauli Hituri's Plymouth Valiant, runs in C/Street, too. Goes 9 second times. Michel Seeck's Dodge Dart, runs in C/Street Too. Can't remember the best times of this one, though. Risto Vataja's Firebird. Runs in C/Street and it's Street Legal car too. Goes mid 10's. Toni Peräkasari's Chevy II, runs in D/Street and it has no blowers or turbos etc., either. Goes low 9's. Janne Nykänen's Blower Powered Valiant in D/Street. Goes 9's if I remember correctly.
-
Then cars what run C/Street and D/Street: First, Suojanen Brothers' Ford Mustang. Very fast car, no blowers, turbos or anything like that. Goes low 9's and runs in C/Street with 362" Engine. Kenneth Matfolk's Plymouth Valiant. Runs in C/Street too. No blowers, turbos etc. and the best time so far is 8,6. Toni Nyström's Miami Vice Racing Valiant with 358 Cid. engine, no blowers, turbos etc on this one either. Runs high 9's. (Yes, it's a Street Legal Car!) Runs in C/Street.
-
Then Kimmo Priuska's Datsun 140 Y. Best ET is 8,6 if I remember correctly, and sometimes it does huge wheelstands, too. (Not My Video) And the fastest Street B Car in Finland: Timo Erhomäki's Opel Ascona Wagon. Best ET is 8,2 seconds.

Yes, it's maybe the nicest Hot Rod that I've seen in Finland. Since I like Hot Rods and Chevy W-Blocks, the combination of those two things is fantastic. Okay, let's start one of my favorite categories: STREET! On 2012 season, Street was one big group where Street B, Street D and Street D Cars were running together. I will explain what car belongs to B, C or D group in a minute. Street is all about Heads Up Racing, no handicaps or "Safety Indexes" needed. The fastest wins. They drive with a Pro Tree. Cars can't drive with real Drag Slicks, they need to have only Drag Radials. Tube frames are not allowed either, but rear and front suspensions can be modified a bit. Engine tuning is pretty much free, but there can be no more than two superchargers, turbos etc. NOS is not allowed. Lenco is not allowed. I guess that's the most important, if you have questions, just ask. What Car Runs in B, D or D Street? B/Street: Smaller engines than 244 Cid, Turbocharged or Supercharged. C/Street: Bigger engines than 244 Cid, and smaller than 366 Cid if you are using Roots-Supercharger. If there are no superchargers, then you can run maximum of 410 Cid. engines. D/Street: Bigger engines than 366 Cid and smaller than 640 Cid engines without superchargers or turbos. If Supercharged, or turboed engine, maximum engine size is 480 Cid. Okay, few examples of cars that run Street Category. Let's start from STREET B. These cars run usually with 4 or six cylinder engines with turbochargers: Let's begin with Jani Lindqvist's BMW 2002. It goes 8,4 times. Then Osmo Isokungas' Mercedes Benz TurboDiesel. Lots of Diesel Smoke, but it's fast, too, goes low 10's or high 9's if I remember correctly. Then Jani Hautakoski's '74 Ford Escort. Best time 8,767. Then Another MK1 Escort, can't remember the driver or best ET, but cool car anyway. Aki Kulmala's Toyota Starlet, goes 9's I guess.

Kurt Wilson`s: 23 T` Bucket new project 10/9/12
W-409 replied to John Teresi's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Here we go again, another fantastic build from John's workbench is on the works! I really like the subject, and I'm sure that you'll do a justice for it. -
This is beautiful and Shiny, too! I like the color a lot, wheel choice is excellent and I really like the details all over. Very nice build as always, Jim!
-
Looking great so far! I like the paint and decal work a lot, smooth and nice. I can't see no wrinkles or anything, it just looks good. Where are those Jack Stands (?) from?
-
Thanks, everyone! This is one reason why I like this forum so much. Without you guys, I would be in trouble and I would build just a Stock Car what I think, is correct. Now I can start building seriously, I will ask more questions if I'm in trouble again.
-
No-one knows anything about this 1:1 car?! -Should I install the backseat or remove it? -Did these cars have a Roll Bar/Roll Cage? -Should I cover the head lights? -How about the engine? Is it just like Factory Stock engine with all original air cleaners etc. "Detail parts"? -Does the front seat need any modifications, like in Black Widow Chevy? And so on. Also, if you don't know about this specific car, also information about how things usually were back in the day, is very welcome.
-
Yep, it looks absolutely excellent! I like the color and paint job very much on this one. And the paint looks even better in person! The engine detail and overall parts fit etc. look very good to me, too. This is maybe the best one from your bench, I like it very much. Now I will get my Gasser Simca done and then our CBP is officially Finished. Just sprayed some clear coat on it , turned out pretty good.

New Moebius Ford Pick-ups 1971 Ranger XLT AND 1969 Custom SWB
W-409 replied to SteveG's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Great, THANKS Moebius Models, AGAIN! I'm owner of Two Hudsons (Stock & Fabulous Hudson Hornet)... More to come, I have plans of Gasser and Custom Hornets, too in my head, and one Convertible of course. I have alsso Tim Flock's Chrysler, haven't bought the Stock version yet, just because of budget things. They all are truly amazing kits, and that is one reason why I'm really looking forward to these. As said in other thread, I'm already planning to make one Hillbilly Pickup of the '71 Ranger Pickup. Little rusty and dusty, equipped with a shotgun, of course. I have to get at least one of both versions of this kit, glad to hear that the other one is with Straight Six engine. Someone said about the Ford Bronco, yep, I would be in line for one, too. One Factory Stock and one Rock Crawler would be my inspirations, both would be the stock "Baby Blue" color. -
Fantastic Daytona Pro Modified! You did outstanding job with the paint work on this one, I'd like to do same style paint job on some of my builds, too, but it's absolutely inpossible with my skills. The paint is not the only fantastic thing in this build, the detail on this build is absolutely perfect! Looks like you really know where every single hose, wire, plumbing, line, hose clamp, bolt and nut will be connected. Man, I'm not going to say seperately, what else is fantastic in this build, because everything in this build is Fantastic!!! This is one of your bests, I've seen, maybe the best. I really enjoyed following the WIP thread, it's bit of sad when there comes no updates anymore, but the finished product really stands out. I have to bookmark you WIP thread, since it has awesome scratchbuilding and detail stuff, great reference and inspiration for my builds, too. Thanks for sharing, John and I really can't wait to see what's coming out next from your bench. Oh yes, and the pictures are awesome too. It looks like real thing. Your builds have so much details, that you're great buyer for Pro Tech parts too.
-
I was suprised too when I saw yellow & orange color combo on this Charger. It looks good, though! Your builds always impress me, keep them coming.

Looking great! I like the look of this body after little cutting, just like someone said on the first page, it looks like Morris Wagon or something. And that's not a bad thing! I always enjoy watching your work, and I will be watching this one for sure. Bought the Wagon Rod while back too, nice Air Suspension and Four Links, good looking body too. But that's all, luckily I managed to sell the engine, wheels and modern interior parts. I'm building Gasser from it right now.
-
Yep, did you use MIG or TIG Welding? Really, fantastic work. I'd like to see this in person too, but the distance it bit too long.

1950 oldsmobile custom finished! 02/1/2013
W-409 replied to streetmachine11's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I'm going to follow this one very closely! I like the Chop Top idea, because when this kind of car is lowered, it looks much better when there's not too much head clearance. Your Chop looks great, just low enough, but not too low. Was it hard to chop? I've chopped one '49 Mercury by AMT and that wasn't very simple-not planning to do that kind of job again, but with this car I might have to do it though. Your proves that it looks great when chopped, even if it's still in rough stages. -
'66 Mustang Pro Modified (Updated 10/16/2013)
W-409 replied to W-409's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Thanks Romell, Dominik, Eric and Corey! Dominik: Well, it will be kind of Sleeper look, since the hood will be equipped with just very low Cowl Induction Scoop and body will be in original shape, no cutting or making it more aerodynamic for this one, I think. I'm not sure about the paint scheme yet, but maybe original White with Blue stripes or something, let's see. Corey: I must try to get that front end fitting little better as it is now. I have few ideas what I'm going to try, but I really don't know if they work or not. You did great job on your Dart, the flip nose looks very good in that one. -
This looks fantastic! It looks much better as "non Turbine version". Funny Car Frame fits nicely inside the body and I like the engine detail alot. You gave me an interesting idea, I have one Turbine Car Gluebomb, which was going to be Custom, but since I don't have good chassis or interior for it.........

New Moebius Ford Pick-ups 1971 Ranger XLT AND 1969 Custom SWB
W-409 replied to SteveG's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
That Moebius Models' Ford Ranger would make cool "Hillbilly Pickup", bit rusty and dusty and equipped with a Shotgun, of course. I'm really looking forward to all of those, but the Ford Pickup is maybe the best one. Those kits from Moebius are always top quality, and that is already enough to buy their kit. And when the subject is interesting, I can't wait to see one on my Bench. Needs to build also one Rat Roadster, and pick another one for parts. Oh man, that will be another very pricey year for me... -
'66 Mustang Pro Modified (Updated 10/16/2013)
W-409 replied to W-409's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Thanks, Matti, Tyrone and Rob! This thing is now in a "hold" for a while, since I've decided to go with TDR Turbos instead of scratchbuilt ones. So now I can't do much things with this, a little chassis work could be done, especially with the rear suspension. But the engine is not getting further for a while. Just in case anyone is thinking, is this build forgotten, no it's not. -
Alright, thanks Joe. I will pick one bottle of Model Masters' paint and try what I can do.
-
Wow, thanks Simon! There can never be enough sponsor decals. I have made my own decal sheets, too and they work fine but are hard to make. I have to get one or two of those sets soon, thanks for the tip!
-
I hope you don't close this thread with in few years time. Mine is coming along S-l-o-w-l-y. I have some important parts missing, like the wheels and front tires, also there are lots of modifications needed in the engine. I'm trying to build this one too, but right now I'm finishing a bunch of projects, so I'm not able to build my Super Stock Mustang for a while, but I will try to get back to it.
-
Great Thanks, Bill! Whole kit looks pretty good to me, even if it wouldn't be too great quality. Needs to start looking for decal sheet, or maybe whole kit, if I can find cheap one. But, here is Part Two. Other decal sheet, where are lots of decals missing, but I can see that there are great sponsor decals for Drag Racers, especially the Don Hampton Blowers decal. Maybe this should be in the Drag section, but I would not like to make another thread of same subject. Any help would be appreciated.
