Turned out great! Those Rally Wheels look much better than the wheels that you were planning first. Nice color combo and great paint job too. You did great job, as always.
-
Very nice Hudson! One of my favorite Hudsons that I've seen completed. You did terrific job, the paint is very smooth and shiny. I like the detailing too.
-
That's impressive work, Bill! I'm speechless. And that's quite rare.
-
Wow, looks great! Paint and details are really nicely done. I always like to see these Old School Style Front Engine Dragsters. This one is very cool too!

Ouch, it starts again! We have had no snow yet in Finland, but I guess there will come snow in few months time, a lot of snow... Last winter we had about one meter of snow on the roof of our house.

You can see the Blower belt is coming off in this picture: I will post few videos too in some time.

Okay, here are my favorites! First the Hollow Heads' Altered. It's powered by Mercury Y Block and TwinTurbos. They're trying to steal the Worlds Fastest Y Block title from Bob Lindsay. Currently the worlds fastest time with Y Block is 7,966 and so far this Altered has been running high 8's. But in the start of 2012 season, it was 11 second car, so it has improved alot. I'll post a video of this later. Then my another favorite Drag Team is Rust Racing which has two cars: '26 Ford T with Blower, of course: And '28 Ford Funny Car:

Pasi Vierikko's Dodge Dart. Burns methanol, went 8,6 on Finals. Rolf Claeson's Firebird. Very nice car with 468 Cid. engine. Timo Heiskanen's Polished Front Engine Dragster with Chevy Small Block and Blower. Burns Methanol, too. Stay tuned for my favorites of SPET... Coming in few hours time.
-
...And those last three pics were from Alastaro. Then Kari Laitinen's Chevy Camaro. This goes 8,8 times too, if I remember correctly. It has 540 Cid. Chevy engine and picture is taken in Motopark. Then Esa Leino's Chevy II. Very beautiful car, and goes nicely. Picture taken in Alastaro. Then Janne Noren's '34 Ford with 383" Cid. engine. This goes 9,3 second times, if I remember correctly. Very nice car. Picture from Alastaro. Here loses traction Risto Palosaari with Pontiac Firebird powered by 572 Cid. Big Block. Picture taken in Alastaro: Then Jukka Kivineva's Ford Mustang. It's 355 Cid engine with Blower, and it's Loud! Picture in Alastaro.

Thanks for the interest, guys! Jim: Yep, it's not free to ship these cars to Finland. Of course Race Cars are cheaper, because there's no need to do all of the registeration stuff. I don't know well, how is it today, but at least we have many cars, and there's coming more of them every year, many of them come from Sweden too. In the 80's, something happened and cars were much cheaper to ship to Finland than they were before. Especially Race Cars were much easier to ship on those days. That's why Drag Racing came very popular in Finland on the 80's. Ken: Thanx, here's some more coming...: George: Wow, thanks for the information! Of course I know how '65 and '67 Chevelles look, I've built one '65 and I'm building one '67 right now, but never thought of that. But now when you said it--- it's very clearly as you said, '65 with '67 front end. Darryl: Yep, these are great for inspiration, and I always have a camera with me to take some reference shots on the cars. I visit in every Drag Racing event in Alastaro and Motopark, so it's five times in a year. Next year we are planning to go driving in Kalajoki airport, too. Michael: Yes, it is really popular in many places, but Thailand! Never heard of Drag Racing in there, but why not! Okay, here is the next car category: SPET (Super Pro ET) It's basically the same as Sportsman & Pro ET groups, but these cars have dial in times between 7,00 and 11,99. Cars can have delay boxes and throttle stops, but throttle stops are quite rare in this group. Car can be normal Doorcar, or Altered or Dragster. Otherwise there are no bigger limits. Or of course there are, but they're not important in this point. Ask something if you'd like to know more. The qualification results are sorted by Reaction Time, and in Eliminator, it's normal bracket. This is good car category for cars, that don't fit any other category, but that is good thing in my mind. This is very big car category in Finland, so I give you some different kind of examples of cars that run SPET: First we have Mikko Niemi's Toyota Corolla DX with 509 Cid. Chevy Big Block. He won the Finnish Championchip this year, the car runs very nice and straight 8,8 times. This picture if from Motopark. Then another pic from Motopark: Hannu Tekoniemi's AMC Javelin SST. This goes 8 second times too, and he does sometimes huge burnouts, too.

That's beautiful Chevelle! Everything looks very good in it, especially the paint job is smooth and shiny. I like the BMF work too, and those burnt rubbers on rear quarter panels. Engine detailing is very nice too.

Revell '50 Oldsmobile Club Coupe 2'n1
W-409 replied to styromaniac's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Wow, they're cheap! You can't get many sealed kits from Finland with those prices. Especially new kits, are much more expensive than these (bit over $ 30). -
I've built this kit too, and it's not very well detailed. The front end looks way too flat to me, as someone already said. It wasn't the funniest build I've had, because of the bad parts fit. Overall, it looks like nice basis for Slot Car body! But it wasn't expensive either.

Revell '50 Oldsmobile Club Coupe 2'n1
W-409 replied to styromaniac's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I think that's not too much from new kit, at least here in Finland where kits are of course, a bit more pricey... Many kits that are not even new, cost the same here in Finland. I find that pretty normal price? So, I did not write this as a critic, I'd like to hear about the prices of Model kits in the USA. Are they much different in Local Hobby Shops, than in Model Express, for example? Just curios and I'd like to hear more. I paid 2011 winter from Revell Kenworth W900 and Revell '65 Stepside 35 Bucks, but they were in discount (Hobby Lobby). But what about the normal pricing? -
'73 Chevrolet Chevelle- Mastered by Tom Ellifritt
W-409 replied to W-409's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Once we get the '74 Chevelle, this is what I'll be doing ! http://tapahtumakuvia.kuvat.fi/kuvat/74+Chevrolet+Chevelle+Stocker/ I don't know how there are always cars in my family, where are no scale models except the '60 Impala. Oh and did I say that glad to hear the progress with the '73 Chevelle! Going to be another cool one when available in Resin. -
'66 Mustang Pro Modified (Updated 10/16/2013)
W-409 replied to W-409's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Actually I haven't seen them, but needs to check them out. I'll go with scratchbuilt turbos on this one anyway, because the shipping for those turbos would be too expensive for this point. I started scratchbuilding the intercooler. It's not finished yet, but the basic shape is there. It's built from different kind of sheet styrenes. But as I said, it's not done yet, tomorrow I'm planning to get it done and mocked up. I don't know what modifications need to be done, I'm planning to install it to the interior, as in one Finnish Super Pro Street Drag Car. I also fabricated a Flip Nose. This is not finished either, but getting there. I have to do little fine tuning so I can get the front end fit into body shapes better. But for now, it's functional and removable, too. Here are some pics, thanks for lookin'. -

Just came across this today: Does anyone know who is the builder, or what is used to build it? -

W-409 replied to Randy D's topic in WIP: Model Cars
WOW!!!!! That chassis looks fant... exc...... awe.... amaz.... Äh, whatever, can't find word that is good enough. I'm truly amazed by the work you did, but then I realized that the suspension is WORKING! Wow, that is piece of art you got there, it has to be 1:1 scale. -
Building the Revell 1950 Oldsmobile - We're Finished! 10/30/12
W-409 replied to Len Carsner's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Looks good! This is very interesting thread, I will keep a close eye for this one. The kit is absolutely on my "Wanted" list, needs to wait so I get some money, though. And I do need at least two of these, other one would be Stock and other one NASCAR, oh actually three, one needs to be Custom too, oh no, four, one has to be a Gasser.... Oh, whatever, it looks like great kit. -
It's my first build, built back in 2002 when I was six years old. AMT '60 Ford Starliner, brush painted and box stock build, of course.
-
Added you to the list! Thanx for joining in. Mopar engine in a Chevy? Just kidding, it looks great! I'll be watching this one, it will look amazing when finished, as your builds always do. Good luck with the exhaust pipe, I've done that few times on Monogram '57 or '56 Chevy kits, and it's really tricky.

'66 Mustang Pro Modified (Updated 10/16/2013)
W-409 replied to W-409's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Thanx, Tyrone, Bill and Ted! I managed to make little upgrades for the throttle body, and it looks much better now. I also started thinking about where I should install the turbos, first one is mocked up, I made a simple bracket for it which will stay there, but I will do some more metal tubings and make it look more realistic than it looks now. Now it's just installed for mock ups and it's possible to make all of the turbo pipins etc. Few pics: -
At least it's not beautiful ! Needs to try find out, what it really is, but looks like old Locomotive as Greg alredy said.

Race team Van and Trailer
W-409 replied to stewart's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Is that trailer built from somekind of model kit, or is it just Evergreen? Very nice builds, especially the paint job on the Van looks nicely done.
