Moebius / Model King Marshall Teague 1952 Hudson kit
W-409 replied to S. Svendsen's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I just saw it in Model Express. I have to put order in now, before they're all gone. -
Can't wait to see more pictures, you do awesome work! The weathering on the chassis looks very realistic, but especially I like that rear bumber. Absolutely fantastic job. And Good Night, I just woke up. (8.30AM)

Thanks for the kind words guys! This is really going to be something different, I'm planning right now what to do with the grille. Somehow I'd like use parts from the original one, or then just scratchbuild somekind of grille... We'll see. Yesterday I added some styrene for the seam on the top. I'm planning to do some sanding today to get it smoother, and then I will continue with other modifications.

Thanks Nick! Actually if it's possible, a reference picture from firewall would help alot. And if you have pictures of the whole front suspension (upper or lower side, doesn't matter), they would be very helpful. And thanks Darrick! It's great to have people who are watching, it keeps me going.

Also built the engine mounts, now I have to do the crossmember for transmission.
-
Matti, sounds interesting. Can't wait to see the Merc'. Derrick: Your builds are great, when you figure it out, post a link to the pics, I want to see them! Updating the Simca build. I installed the seats and built new steering linkage. It's mostly built from Miss Deal kit parts, but they are radically modified, since the steering is now on left side, not in center as it was originally in that Studebaker kit. Also I started building the fuel system plumbings for the engine, not too fancy stuff, but done anyway. The driveshaft is built from two Miss Deal kit driveshafts, not the best in the world, but Okay for me.

Matti: Thanks! I've liked especially this '69 Chrysler 300 and it's very nice in original condition too. Tom: Don't know about body corrections, or differences between the original car, but if this is Mastered by Juha Airio, I'm sure that it's just right. And Thanks! Carl: Thanx! Yup, I was suprised too about how that chassis fits inside the body. Usually when I find some parts that can MAYBE be used, they don't fit at all. Roger: Thanks! John: Thanks, the tool is made by Trumpeter. I will take a photo of it tomorrow, could not find one from Google. I should have an update soon, today I was working on the Simca Gasser on the Community Builds section. Maybe tomorrow.

However, the chassis is on four wheels now. Parts fit very nicely and stance is pretty good. Front end could be bit lower, but rear end can't, otherwise rear axle would hit to the frame, and I don't do modifications to the bed, because I want to keep the body as it came from the factory.

More pictures of the Stepside. I started assembling the body parts together, to get it painted. Anyways now there is some need for putty, because parts didn't fit as well as they should have:

Who is the builder for that Impala? It looks great.
-
The detail in this build is fantastic, very much all kinds of things inside it. I always find something more when looking these pictures again and again. But then- there is not too much stuff packed inside it, it's just perfect. I like the color too, fits nicely to this kind of car.

Very nice Hudson! Nice paint and finish. Chrome trims look very good to me too, only thing what's wrong is that we need more pictures!
-
Looks great, even if I can see the 90's building style on body colored bumbers and wheels. Anyway it's built very nicely, excellent paint job and fantastic details on the engine. I really like this one.
-
Very cool build! Gremlin is cool little car and great basis for Drag Racing. You did great job with this build. Paint job looks good, and that spoiler looks actually very good when painted black. Very nice build, keep them coming.
-
Oh, then it might not help. Well, if the subject is interesting, it's worth buying anyway. Very nice body.

1/25 Drag car detailing questions
W-409 replied to Action Jackson's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Check the Drag Racing Models-section. Lots of inspiration and reference pictures there from Four Links, Wheelie Bars and Front Suspension Parts. -
That's a Chrysler 300 too, the AirTrax body. I don't know the differences between Fury and 300, but it really looks close to me. I don't know who has Mastered it, but it really looks good to my eye. I paid 5 euros from mine, but it was only the body without bumbers etc. and it was damaged on a mold. Well, it looked good enough for me, so I bought it. Anyways I have to buy the hood, bumbers and grille for it in some point. But the quality is great.

Send an Email to raurata@yahoo.com http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=26136 Those bodies are really great quality.
-
Then I glued the body halves together. Now some styrene and bondo, then it'll look better. I'm planning to fill the rear wheel openings from the body, move rear axle forward and shorten this body from rear side of rear axle. And then I started making the windshield. It's not the easiest thing to do winshield for this, because nowhere will probably be correct glass, and it's inpossible to make one from actetate. So I took the kit's windshield which had seen better days, but that's not so important, since I will make it smooth now, after narrowing and then I will heat form new windshield from acetate.

Yep, you read the title right, it sounds odd. Maybe the builder is bit odd too, but yes, I'm building a Hot Rod from '64 Dodge 330 Glue Bomb. I'm not sure will this be shiny, nicely finished HotRod or satin colored "Rat Rod"... We'll see. The inspiration for this build is this '66 Nova Roadster by Chuck Most: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=57970&st=0 I started working today. I'm building this while parts are drying for other builds, so I guess it's not gonna be finished in week or two. But it's not going to take forever. Honestly, I've been planning to build something like this for a while, but today I decided to test my new Razor Saw. It worked nicely. Here are some pictures. The project Basis was this Glue Bomb. Well, of course the body was too wide, so..... Here is the top sawed. More sawing:

Not much done since the latest update, some work with the engine, but no primer painted yet. Maybe after next sanding? Only picture, for now, is about these '64 Dodge 330 parts, I found from my parts box. I don't know which ones I'll be using, but that front axle is very helpful. I'm going to use it, and then I can move that other axle to '71 Cuda Pro Stocker project. That pile of parts in front of everything, is interior floor... I'm going to glue it together to see, if I can use it or not. As I said, not much done, just wanted to show you that I'm doing something other than eating chocolate.
-
Now we have to hope that paint don't go under the tape... You're doing great job, keep at it. Subject is great, haven't seen too many '63 Chevrolets, especially Wagons.
-
Wow, fantastic builds, Derrick! You know how to make excellent paint job, all of them are very nice and smooth! I like the '55 Gasser the most, but others are very nice too. Thanks for the inspiration!
-
Derrick: Absolutely, post some pictures of your builds. You build great stuff, and more inspiration we get-faster we build I guess. (Or at least I do. ) Gray, feel free to join in and start the T-Bird! I will add you to the list. And the Eye Candy continues soon!
