Wow, great looking Diorama. It's in good shape, if it's really built 20 years ago! That would look very good when cleaned.

Something new again. Really like those Resin bodies ('56 Studebaker Commander & '69 Chrysler 300).

Fiat Topolino '60s Altered & Finished Slingshot Dragster
W-409 replied to W-409's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Thanks John And Chris! The First build of Double Dragster kit is completed. Next one will be the Fiat Topolino Altered. Anyway, I had little problems with the final assembly. Body didn't fit well, it was too high all the time. Because of that I had to sand some material off from the "Dashboard" and frame parts to get the body fit. Now it fits Okay. Otherwise I had no problems, very fun build over all. -
...And the last set... Thanks everyone for looking, posting comments etc! Now when I've finished two builds (This and the Dragster), I can start two new.

Thanks so much, Bill, John and Chris! It really means a lot when coming from Master builders like you all. Okay, here are the pictures of finished model. It turned out better than I thought, but it's not as good as the Nova, I think. Well, most important is, that I'm very happy about it and feels good to get something done. Few More:

The closest one might be '69 Chrysler 300 by AirTrax. I just bought one body yesterday, it looks good to my eye. Here are pictures of the body (not mine). http://public.fotki.com/tomcoolidge/scandinavian-resin/page5.html

Very nice! My favorite type of Dragsters and excellent build. Great paint and detail on this one. I wish I could see more Dragsters being built.
-
Great looking Pontiac. Very good subject also, I haven't seen these "Burnout Cars" being built too often. Great idea on the engine too. I wouldn't have an idea of using the Pro Sportsman engine and modify it for a street driving.
-
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! That engine is piece of art, it's a shame to hide it inside Cuda engine bay. You could display that engine on its own too, it looks so GOOD.

I had bit problems with the rear wheels and tires. They didn't fit inside the wheel wells nicely, I had to narrow the rear end a bit. Now everything fits Ok in the rear... Well then to the front. I test fitted everything to see how tires fit. Front tires need some spacers, since they are too deep inside the body. Otherwise I'm very happy about how it looks right now.

Here we go again. I did some test fitting for my Stepside. It fits in correct ride height in the front when using the Custom axle from the kit, but I had to saw little material off from the back to get it sit right. The rear end can't be lower without frame modifications, and I don't want to do them for this. So it's going to be on this ride height when finished. Now needs to show some paint for the chassis parts.

Beautiful build of this kit. This shows that it is possible to build nice Gasser Chevy from this kit too. I built mine years ago and I remember that it wasn't the best kit I had. All in all yours looks good. Nice paint and nice details. Good job all over.

Fiat Topolino '60s Altered & Finished Slingshot Dragster
W-409 replied to W-409's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Thanks Ken! Luck is needed there, so I don't break anything while driving to Lahti. It's FINISHED too. I'll post pictures tomorrow after that Show. I'll tell you more information and final thoughts about this tomorrow, now I must get some sleep. -
Thanks Tyrone! That's true, my skills have been improved a lot in last year or two, I'm really happy about it. I really hope that I keep getting better and better and I wish that some day I'm in your level. Thanks, Carl! I'm happy about the paint too. To me it's very important thing, because paint job is maybe one of the things that can be seen well. Polishing kit is a friend. And thanks Roger! I was bit unsure about the Power Brake Booster. I know that nowadays these cars don't have them, but I wasn't sure about how things were "Back In The Day". Well, next one better I guess. Now I can tell you that Hemi Dart is Finished, just in time for tomorrow's Model Car Show. I will post some pictures of completed model tomorrow, not it's so late that it's dark outside and I can't take pics.

Fiat Topolino '60s Altered & Finished Slingshot Dragster
W-409 replied to W-409's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Gettin' There! These are the final WIP pictures of the Dragster, it's close of being completed. Glued the body and some other parts too. I had a bit fit issues with the body, but I managed to make it fit somehow. It should be done in few hours. -

Thank You! Little more progress with this one too. I'm planning to finish this today also, there are pretty much things to do, but at least I'm gonna try. BUT if I can't make it, I'm not going to rush the finish on this one. Body and Belly Pan have been polished. I'm really happy about how they turned out. The chassis is pretty much done exept few little parts and some important details. -
Few More Pics...

Thanks, Ken and Tyrone! This "needs" to be finished today, because tomorrow we have a Model Car Show here in Finland. I'm trying to get this thing done for that show. I have done some little things on the engine bay (still lot more to do) and yesterday I installed the grille and front bumber too. Time to get rest of the parts and details installed and then this one is ready to go. Here are some pictures with a good camera.

Looks very good so far! You're doing fantastic job with this fantastic kit. Engine looks beautiful over all, so smooth paint job and somehow it looks like Real engine. Great! If still is possible to do, remove that little mold seam of the carburetor linkage which is molded to the carbs. Otherwise it looks great. I don't know about the tooling, but it sure looks like AMT '57 Chrysler engine. Doesn't matter me, of course. Both engines are very nice.

Chevrolet Didn't think of putting too big wheels on their cars! Interesting project. Overall I don't like those wheels and tires, and not that modern interior, but you do GREAT job, so I'll be following this one for sure.

Nice job on the Crusty Hudson! Looks like you know how to do the weathering right. Excellent job with it, very unique idea too. I'm sure that we don't see many of these built as Junkers, or Barn Finds.

Fairmont drag car build - Hanging/hinging DS door 8/10/16
W-409 replied to futurattraction's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Looking good. I like what you did for the frame. Engine fits nicely on place, very beautiful. I've always liked Fairmont Drag Cars, yours will turn out nice. -
Today I glued the chassis to body too. No fit issues found. I installed few details on the engine bay, too, but it's still in rough stages. Now there are only little things left, let's see if this gets finished tomorrow. All of these pics are again taken by Cell Phone, but I try to borrow a Camera tomorrow, if I get this finished.

Thanx Darryl! More work, yesterday's update: I installed the interior inside the body. It fitted fine. Also engine is glued to chassis. That wasn't so simple, but luckily glue what was strong enough managed to keep those parts on place.
