Great project! This is one kit what I'd like to build too. You're doing great job with it, nice bodywork and excellent paint job too. That's what I think everytime when I start polishing, but then I just start the polishing and hope that everything goes alright. I haven't failed polishing yet, so it can't be that difficult.

RATical chopped and channeled '25 T (hot rod, not rat rod)
W-409 replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in WIP: Model Cars
This is the way I like them, Traditional and well built HotRods, not those poorly built Rat Rods. You're doing very good job. Engine looks good. That's true that even if the car is Rusty, it can be well built, here's one Ford T Drag Racer just for inspiration. Yep, it's from Finland. -
That interior made me laugh... I thought that Doysha Chevy Monza kit had very bad interior, but that's even worse! Anyway, I'm sure you'll do good work with this one as always. I'll be following this one very closely.

Wow, that TransKit can't be very cheap, but it sure is worth it. Looking very good so far. You do always great work, and here's another build to enjoy.

It's Not too late, just let me know what You're building and I'll add you on the list.

Great job on it, engine detailing looks terrific. I like the stance too, White Wall Front tires fit perfectly on this one. Can't wait to see more.

1/16 Scale Army Vega Funny Car - Finished 10/14/2018
W-409 replied to Mooneyzs's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
WOW, Truly amazing work, Chris. Oh well what else could I expect from you... Those fittings look GREAT. And thanks for the size comparison pictures. Those just make me realize, how small those parts really are. -
Lets See Your Replicas of Yours/Your Families Cars
W-409 replied to Platerpants's topic in Model Cars
I haven't built any Replicas of my Family's Cars, but I did these two to match GrandFathers cars, he used to own in the Seventies. -
Amazing work on the engine, looks just like Real Thing! Absolutely fantastic work, Bill.

Fiat Topolino '60s Altered & Finished Slingshot Dragster
W-409 replied to W-409's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
I had bit problems with the painting, but after one wetsanding and repaint, I was happy about the paint job. Now I put the decals on, and it looks pretty good. Then clearcoat, and polishing. -
I scratchbuilt Electric Switch Panel. The Basis is styrene, where I drilled holes for the switches, and they are made from solder. I have to say that it looks terrible in the pictures. It's better in live, and small too.

Thanx, Corey and Tom! The Mine is already planned for another project, so it will not take place on the Hemi Dart. Starting the brake lines. That Connector part (Whatever is it), is made from rubber pipe, and brake lines are metal. I'm not done with them yet, but I'm working slowly....

Thanx Christian! That ModellAutoCenter looks very good, needs to check it out. ModellAutos Budig is also on the list, I'm trying to visit there, too. The flight leaves tomorrow at 6:30 AM, I'll let you know what shops were good, and what were not when I'm back.

I have that Dodge L700 with that Flatbead Trailer and '40 Ford. Not a great kit at all. Parts are not looking as realistic as I hoped, and doors don't fit nicely to the Dodge Cab. Also when I haven't built many Truck kits, I don't know all the parts and what they are. I can remember that parts trees have part numbers, but instructions don't. Or was it other way, that instructions have part numbers, but part trees don't. Well anyway, not the best kit from Lindberg, but really worth buying and building. The subject is cool and with some detail and scratchbuilt parts it will look awesome. (And no, I'm not talking about mine now...) Haven't started the Ford much yet, but the quality of that kit doesn't matter that much, since it will be basically Old School Custom with lots of modified parts.

This is very cool! Big and good looking Early 60's Car turns out into Pro Sportsman? Pro Mod? Drag Racer. What will be the correct category for this? Great job, looks like the chassis needs some extension.
-
This is near perfection! I was drooling in the WIP Topic too, but now I have to pick up my jaw pieces from the floor. Great job on paint and all of those details, especially the grille looks awesome. Wheels and tires look very good and realistic, too. Excellent build, absolutely the best '69 Chevelle, I've ever seen.

The 5 best GM designs
W-409 replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Interesting list. I agree with the Corvette. '63 Split Window 'Vette is one of my favorites. That really might belong to Top 5 Material. I like Riviera Body Shapes very much, but I think that it's not Top 5 Material. Very cool car, yes, but I can find many cars which are nicer, for example '57 Corvette with Fuel Injection. Then there would be already two Corvettes, but that's just because they are nice. '70 Chevrolet Camaro... NO, even if it's really nice car. But '69 Camaro looks better to me. That one or '68 Firebird would be better on that '70 Camaro's place. '66 Oldsmobile Toronado.... NO. Not my favorite cars, of course that '66 Year Model is much better than those newer Toronados, but anyway that doesn't fit inside the Top 5 List. For Example Buick GSX would be better choice. Pontiac Solstice Coupe... NEVER! Very ugly car in my opinion. Really terrible body design, looks like typical new car: Too Much Plastic and ugly body shaping. Maybe an owner of 1:1 Pontiac Solstice Coupe has made that list, that's the only reason why I can see it there. Well, seriously, better choice would've been for example '87 Buick GNX. BUT I wonder, where are: -'68 Impala SS -'60 Chevy Impala HT -'59 Chevy Impala HT -'58 Impala -'72 Chevelle (Yep, much cooler than 1970). -'74 Chevelle -'53 Chevrolet Bel Air -Chevy Coupes from '40 to '48. -Tri Five Chevrolets -'69 Nova SS -'72 Pontiac LeMans This could keep going and going, but there are a few. And yep, it's My Opinion. -
I have never built any kit more than once. Well now I'm kind of building Miss Deal Studebaker FC for the second time, but now I'm using Simca Vedette body... But I guess that doesn't count. Anyway my favorite kit is maybe Moebius Models' Hudson or '55 Chrysler C300 NASCAR version. I'm sure that the Stock Version is worth buying too.

Wow, Great Job! I like the body style of this Monte Carlo, especially in NASCAR Tracks. Your builds are always very clean and nicely finished. Just wondering, how many finished builds you have?
-
Yep, all of them are very nice. My favorite is the last one, somehow paint job and details just look the best. But as I said, all of them are awesome builds, as always.
-
Cool Plymouth! Pretty much body modifications, but you did awesome job! It looks great to me, the front fenders continue very smoothly all the way back. Very cool one, I will keep watching.
