  1. Interesting, VERY interesting. I will be watching this one very closely. Sounds interesting, and looks good too... Keep it going.
  2. Some point I planned to build one model at a time, but....... At this point, I have about 50-60 projects going on, so I failed on that attempt.
  3. Starting to take shape very well! Even if I don't like that Tojota came in NASCAR Tracks, this will be very interesting build to follow. You do great job, keep at it.
  4. This would be cool to have on stash too. I would get two of them, other would be a Replica of my Dad's car, he used to own in the '80s. It was never finished, though, but I would build it just like he planned to do. Other would be bit like the car in the picture, so it would be Box Stock. I'd like to get this one too, since I like Group B Rally Cars. Nowadays those WRC Rally Cars don't interest me, but these old Group B cars are great. Especially the Lancia S4 driven by Henri Toivonen & Sergio Cresto. Oh and I had to test how my '57 Chevy would look in Monogram's box.
  5. I would use those American Racing Wheels. They would look very good on this body. Just remember to paint the spokes, otherwise they look too modern. Nice project, I'll be watching for sure.
  6. I buy both, Glue Bombs and New Kits. And there are few reasons why I bought glue bombs too. First one is because my Modeling Budget is not too great, and Glue Bombs are just simply cheaper to get. And another reason is, that if the kit what I'm looking for is very rare or expensive it's much easier and cheaper to get a Glue Bomb. Usually as they are possible to build as nice as if you started from new kit.
  7. Chuck, William and Jim, are you officially in? If you are, I add your names on the list. And Haubenschild, when you decide what you'll be building, let me know and I'll add it on the list too. Especially the Edsel Gasser sounds very interesting, since I've been planning to do one for years, but never picked up that kit anywhere, even if Edsel is the nicest car, Ford Motor Company produced in the late '50s I think. Looking forward to your builds, guys.
  8. And I painted the body two days ago. I used Metal Flake Red paint, it fits pretty well on this Simca. As you can see from the pictures, the hood is masked and will be painted with the second color soon. Actually, I've made little more progress today, but I have no pictures yet. I try to take them tomorrow and then I should have another update for this one.
  9. I added little styrene strips on the body. These hold the frame in right position, and it can't fall too deep inside the body. The engine will be 392" Hemi what came with the Studebaker kit. It just needed some paint stripping before it was ready to be painted. Here's the engine right now. The block is painted silver, and valve covers are of course painted Gold. I added so far the Ignition Wires but more detailing will be coming soon.
  10. Here is a picture of The First test fit. Front End was not high enough, so little cutting needed to be done. So I cut that frame crossmember, and moved it backwards, when I was able to install the front axle there. Now the front end would be bit higher, too.
  11. Looks Good enough for me, I hope we get more entries, but I start the Official Entry list and this CBP is now started. Here are pictures of my Simca Project. I've started it already, but there's still lots of more things to do. It started out as AirTrax '59 Simca Vedette Resin Body. I opened the windows: There was only a one big question. Where I could take the chassis and interior? I knew I had lots of spare engines, but chassis and interior was real problem. Then I found Revell's MissDeal Studebaker GlueBomb. The chassis fitted nicely after little narrowing. Of course I had to do some other modifications, like stretching the frame from front end.
  12. Sounds Good! Let's see if we can get few more etries, and then let's get this Community Build Rolling.
  13. I used very thin plastic "tubing", softened it a bit with Plastruct's Plastic Weld-Liquid Glue. Then I pushed several "marks" for it with screw driver. ' Actually they look better in person.
  14. This has been in my mind for long time. Since I really like Gassers and Altered WheelBase cars, let's see if there would be any interest for this kind of CBP. The Rules: 1. You can build any type of Gasser. It can be Between Traditional Old School Gasser with Leaf Springs & Straight Axle and Modern Drag Car what races in Gasser categories. Altered WheelBase cars are allowed too, as long as they are AWB. 2. You Can use any kit, it can be built Box Stock or then you can kitbash parts from other Model Kits. You can build your Gasser or AWB car from any car that you'd like to. 3. You Can enter with as many builds as you like. There's no Deadline, so slower builders (Like Me) can finish their builds too. 4. ALL kinds of Gasser/AWB builds are allowed. It can be American, European, Japanese body, or whatever you like. It can be everything from Replica to What If style build. 5. You can enter with a build, which is already started, but there needs to be bit more work to do than just adding few details, or gluing Gas Tank on place. If there's any interest on this CBP, Let me know, all kinds of questions are also welcomed. 15. My Opinion on the wheels: 1st Set: No, those are too modern. 2nd Set: Not those either. Tire profile is better than on that first set, but wheels are looking like 90's HiTech to me. 3rd Set: Absolutely not those. Horrible wheels and way too low profile tires. Don't fit into old Classis like this. 4th Set: Yes! That's just right.
  16. That Ford Focus WRC doesn't look like real WRC Focus. The kit may be pretty good quality otherwise, but it's not correct if compared to real car. Finnish Model Car Builder, who actually builds mostly Rally Cars reviewed this kit in Finnish Model Car Association's Magazine. There are lots of parts, yes. Photo Etch and Cartograf decals too. Instructions are very good, too. Anyway, there are lots of ejector marks and other mistakes what need putty. Panel Lines are very light too, and need some scribing. Glass parts are not that good either. Headlights are too small, and they don't fit nicely. Body needs to be glued together from seperately molded parts which don't fit together well. There's no engine or opening hood, but doors are opening. That's bit weird, I would say. No Door hinges are included. Chassis detailing is not too great either. There are lots of differences with the Real car and this Model Kit. There's missing some quite important parts from the kit, but luckily they can be found from Renaissance's Photo Etch parts set. (I don't know what parts those really are in english, sorry about that.) Body is not so correct shape, either. For example the rear spoiler is incorrect shape, too small headlights, too wide Grille in the front and too wide fenders. This is not my opinion, or I don't have this kit. I'm not going to buy it either, since it's way too expensive if it has that much mistakes. Hope this helps someone.
  17. That might be, but if someone would have been in Berlin and visited in some of these shops. At Least I'm trying to find any information.
  18. Well I'm going to Berlin, Germany with my Family, and of course needs to visit in Model Shop(s). I searched from Google, and found three shops what had Model Cars, they are in pretty good place too. 1. The Shop: Berliner Zinnfiguren & Freussisches Bücherkabinett Adress: Knesebeckstr 88 Opening Hours: Monday-Friday 10 AM-6 PM. Saturday 10 AM-3 PM. 2. The Shop: Staufenbiel Berlin. Adress: Georgenstraße 24 Opening Hours: Monday-Friday 10 AM-7 PM. Saturday 10 AM-4 PM 3. The Shop: Tamico Adress: Richard Wagner Str 25 Opening Hours: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 3 PM-7 PM. Saturday 10 AM - 2 PM. So I'd like to get some help or information about these shops. When looking at their Web-Pages, it looks like the first one is the best shop. But if you have any information about this, please tell me. It would be greatly appreciated.
  19. Thanks, Daniel! Post pictures of your build too, sounds very good to me. Thanks, Corey. Now it feels like I need to get this off from my bench, and moved to "Display Case". Thanks to Darryl too! Detail work makes the model "Pop Out" and I think it's easy way to make these builds to look better. Little update too. I clearcoated the body yesterday. Luckily it went Okay. It's bit wet on the pictures, but that's what it will look when it's completely dry. Now needs to let it dry, and then polish it.
  20. Very nice build of great car. These Firebird were best looking Funny Cars on those days. You did great job with paint and details. Parts fit looks very good too.
  21. I'm planning to install the front suspension from AMT '67 Ford Mustang. It looks pretty close to AMX suspension. I haven't found those Front Axle parts anywhere, and I don't have money to buy a new kit right now. But that's what I'll be using. Inner Fenders will be built using again those Mustang parts as a Basis. I have those inner fenders, but haven't seen any front axles on my bench. I'm building the Sox&Martin Cuda too. I filled holes from the engine, and I'm not going to use that Metal Axle anymore. New front axle will be taken from Revell's '71 Cuda, which I have some where. It's true, engines and bodies are really nice in these kits. That's what keeps me going on these builds. Actually thanks for the Bump. Needs to get back on the AMX too. If I didn't explain good enough, feel free to ask more questions, and I'll try to answer them.
  22. Not Too Great, but.....
  23. One thing why I don't buy so much Convertible Model Kits is, that they can't be converted to Race Car so well as non-Convertibles. As well as they are not as Cool Customs etc. The subject must be very interesting if I buy Convertible cars, '57 Chevy would be very interesting.
  24. Thanks Roger! I'm going to use just simple and easy Maston Clear straight from Spray can. It has always worked fine for me with every decal job. Maybe some paints, you have in the USA are better, like HOK or something.
  25. Great job as always, Chris! The Mid Plate looks very good to me. Truly amazing.
