Grey Peterbilt 379
W-409 replied to BigBad's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Very nice Peterbilt! You did great job, all details are great, and I love the overall look too. Really sharp Truck. -
Very nice Hemi Dart. Paint job is very cool, so shiny and smooth. Decals look excellent also. Where did you get those tire textes? Great job all in all, but maybe some black color for the panel lines next time?

I have always liked this car. The body shaping is excellent. It looks good in Factory Stock form, too. You did great job with this one. Clean and nice build.

Some pictures, not from Pro Sportsman Cars, but plumbing is pretty much the same. Couldn't find more, but I have them somewhere.... I keep looking and post few more pics if I find them. Hope These Help.

Thanks Fred, John and Dave, I appreciate the kind comments. The body is now ready to be polished, I guess. I'm going to continue working with this tomorrow with some engine detailing and hopefully I can get rest of parts painted. Polishing may take more than just one day, since I don't like it and it's pretty slow too. But hope to have something to show you tomorrow.

68 Firebird Drag Car. Updated with old wip pics
W-409 replied to dimebolt's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Very nice build! I like these 1st Generation Firebirds, especially this '68 looks good. You did good job with this one, everything seems to fit as they do in real life. Especially I like the wheels, very good idea and Execution. -
Wow, great job. This kit is not too great quality, but you built it very nicely. Great detail and paint too.
-
Awesome Build. This is The Kit, I've been thinking of buying and building some day. I've always liked it somehow, but never found this kit from Finland... Great job with the finishing of this one. Every little detail is just right, and it's funny model too, that's one reason why I like your builds too.

Very nice Nova! Those details sure look good, paint and decals are very nice also. You did awesome job with it. Only thing what caught my eye, is that "1969 Nova SS Used Under License"-Text on the chassis.

Early 60's Dragmaster IV - Update 08-03
W-409 replied to Bernard Kron's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Great project. These Dragsters are my favorite, these are cooler than Late 60's Front Engine Dragsters. I mean those what are way too long.... You're doing awesome job, as always. Frame and engine are looking beautiful. Like the pictures too, great job. -
Aluminum Willys Coupe: finished pictures posted 8/2/12
W-409 replied to John Teresi's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Looks incredible! Paint job is fantastic, as well as detailing. Very impressive paint job, and in short time! I really enjoy following this one. What Primer are you using? It looks better than the primer that I'm using. -

What Slows Down Your Builds?
W-409 replied to slusher's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
What slows down my builds, is parts. Many, Many times there are parts missing, and usually they are very hard to find from Finland. Sometimes the only way is to buy completely new kit, what is not so simple either, since I don't have so much money to spend on these, as some of you guys. And the kits are more expensive in here, too. Other thing what slows me down, is polishing the paint job. It's boring and there's big change to screw the whole paint job. There might be other things too, but they just didn't come up to my mind. -
Best Way To Create Vents?
W-409 replied to kenshapiro2002's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
The panel which is between the windscreen and hood. Sorry my English is not so great that I knew what is it in English, this is not my native language, you know. -
More and More BodyWork. Today I was able to spray another coat of primer, to see that it isn't ready for paint yet. Looks good from long distance, but when looking closer, it's not that good yet. I've been thinking of buying Spray Filler for this build Never tried it, but others have used it and they say that it's good stuff. Well let's see.

Best Way To Create Vents?
W-409 replied to kenshapiro2002's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
How about trying to scribe them with Panel Scriber? Or if there's not any other way, cut those Vents from some other kit's WindScreen Panel, and make that fit on that rear fender. -
This kit is another Must Have-type of kit. Hopefully those opening doors just close nicely too. I know that in AMT '57 Fairlane, they didn't.
-
Resin bodies are pretty fragile stuff too, so don't drop them. And before painting, remember to wash the body, since there is usually some Grease used in the molding, and paint doesn't stick to the body.

68 ford BRONCO
W-409 replied to Grzegorz's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I've been dreaming of this kind of Bronco. Needs to start looking eBay if I can find one. GREAT job, nice paintjob and very well built over all. Can't find any mistakes of it. -
Dick Rathman's #120 Hudson Hornet of the new century
W-409 replied to Dominik's topic in WIP: NASCAR
WOW! Your Station Wagon Hudson was incredible build, this one is another one. Great idea to use that leftover body on this one. It looks mean & good. -
Very cool project. Great to see you back on the bench, I always enjoy (and learn!) when watching your builds. This is going to look awesome when finished. What you did for the roof, I would never noticed that mistake on Revell's kit. Actually when you said it, I can see the difference with those roofs, and that original one sure looks incorrect. Great job all in all, keep at it. I'm going to follow this build very surely.

I also glued the engine into chassis today. It's still Under Construction, but it can be built on that place. Now I can make good engine mounts too, and now I can solve all clearance issues much easier. I just threw the body on the chassis for a little MockUp.

Update for the Simca Gasser. Mostly interior work today, especially with the Roll Cage. I glued the Miss Deal Studebaker cage on place, to see how much it needs to be modified. Well there is not much left on the Studebaker's cage, but it was a lot easier to do like that. You can see it in these pictures, silver tubing is what's left from the kit's Roll Cage, white is styrene tubing. After taking those pics, I painted the cage silver. Little engine work, too. The Blower is from my parts box, and it was stripped off from chrome plating, and painted silver. That scoop on the top of those little injector stacks is scratchbuilt from styrene. I installed MoonEyes Logos on it, to give nice finishing touch. Belt Cover is from Miss Deal Studebaker kit, too.
