This looks good! Very sharp build on unique subject, I have to say that you did awesome job with that body. Paint and finishing overall looks very good to me, too.

Wow that's cool! Great lookin' Mustang! In Finnish SPS rules there's an "index" of 6,8 sec. And we have different types of cars, TwinTurbos, ProStock style cars, and of course some with Blower and now it looks like we have soon few cars with Blown Methanol engines here in Finland. This is one of the coolest, I think. It's with 340 Cid. SmallBlock and Blower. Hopefully it runs good this weekend at Alastaro.

1972 Ranchero
W-409 replied to TooOld's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Very cool Ranchero! One of the best year models of Torino & Ranchero. Very beautiful build too, colors fit nicely together and like the details. Over all very nice build. -
Now what to do ? Ideas ?

What I should do: -
Yeah, I will. Even if the progress is very slow. It's my first attempt to do a Tube Frame from plastic - not so easy as I thought. And High School is slowing me down alot. Well, tomorrow I'm going to Final Drag Racing Event here in Finland, let's see who takes the Finnish Championchip in Super Pro Street, it's also a good place to get some inspiration. Do you drive SPS in USA?

'73 Chevrolet Chevelle- Mastered by Tom Ellifritt
W-409 replied to W-409's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Very Nice! '73 And '74 Interiors are pretty close. But There are some differences, here's a link for a few reference pictures, I just took. Hope they help. http://s1038.photobu...rolet Chevelle/ -
Thanx for the link! This helps me alot in the '57 Chevy Super Pro Street build. Thanks, Dave.

Excellent job, as always. This is near perfection, but if possible-it looks better in Live. You have to show Jopo and Tunturi also . I guess that Americans haven't ever seen those in any scale.

Well here's one beautiful Ford! Great wheel and tire choice. Red steelies fit very well with that blue paint. Good job on it, very nice.

Aston Martin DBR9 and Jaguar XKR GT3 - Airfix 1/32
W-409 replied to Matt Bacon's topic in Model Cars
Great job on them! Especially when they are built in that little time. Especially I like the paint jobs on them, but they're overall very nice too. Harry's point is good too, but sometimes it's fun to build something different, and fast. Especially after one long project, it's nice feeling to build something in two or three days or so. -
I use the same method as Nick mentioned above. But... For example AMT '67 Impala, kit tires look more like Lowrider style than Factory Stock. I replaced the tires on mine, and it looks whole lot better. And it's not the only one.

1/16 Scale Army Vega Funny Car - Finished 10/14/2018
W-409 replied to Mooneyzs's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Very nice Rear End! Absolutely awesome work, Chris. I hope I can build this high quality some day too. It looks like real part to me, but because of the background I have to believe that it really is a Model. Is it time to get my JungleJim Vega on the bench too, this inspires me that much.... -
This is a Model. Oh, next one is Real Or Model #200! Let's Have A Party next time!

Mustang gasser ( style) The "thing" is done ! 9-2-12
W-409 replied to cobraman's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Looks GOOD! Only thing I would do other way, is lowering the rear end a bit and then removing some material from the body so the tires fit. And yes, front axle could be a bit more back. Otherwise perfect, keep it going. -
The Hornet's Nest: Hudson Hornet Build Madness!
W-409 replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in Community Builds
Thanks guys! It's shiny, but not so smooth-after polishing it will be beautiful. Anyway I'm having bit hurries, and it will take some time to get back on the Hudson, maybe a week or so. Chuck, nice job on the Convertible! Will watch this very closely. -
Well it's not the easiest thing to build Stock Eliminator Drag Car which is technically correct, or matches NHRA rules, or is a car which could win races in 1:1 world. You have to convert parts from the engine, interior, chassis and it's mostly scratchbuilding, because there's no Stocker kits available ( ) . If you build Super Stock, it needs more modifications, of course. I haven't been built Super Stock Cars (if those old '60's Racers doesn't count). But there might be some kits where to get few parts, but scratch building is needed, too. I would build it as Stock Eliminator Drag Car (this might not be a suprise ) or then buy AMT '66 Nova Pro Street and modify that chassis to fit under Gremlin. If you're building Stock Eliminator Drag Racer, make a WIP topic, I'll help where I can. (Currently building 1:1 scale Stocker with my father, so I might now something ).

Bruce, it's GREAT to see you back! Your builds are always very nicely done and you build something different which is always good. This one is another great build! As William said, it could have been produced by the manufacturer. Looks very good, keep these coming.

After seeing this one and following it for a while, I had to find my Monkees Mobile from my stash, and I had to fit a roof (Pontiac GTO, maybe?) for it. Actually looked pretty good, maybe needs to get it going... I like what you did for the hood on this one. Looks much better than the original one. Really like the design, it looks very good over all.

Weathering - feedback please
W-409 replied to Jantrix's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Opinions wanted, I'll say what I think: It looks good. Rust color is great, and you have rust in right places! I really like it. I'm not sure if this because of the pictures, but the body looks way too thick to me. Especially from the rust holes, body should be a lot thinner, as it is in real life. Otherwise I think it looks great, and better than my first try at rusting... -

1/24 Monogram '30 Ford Model A 5-window Coupe
W-409 replied to Bernard Kron's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
A Friend of mine had that kit. We were very exited about it, since both of us like the Model A better than Model B. If I remember correctly, the top of that kit is molded seperately, and it's not as well detailed as the new kits by Revell, of course. But I think it really is worth buying and building, we've seen hundreds of '32 Fords in different body styles: 3W and 5W Coupes, Sedans, Tudors, Pickups and Roadsters.... This is a difference. Of course it's possible to use a Revell '32 Ford as a donor kit, if the detail in this kit is not good enough. I would buy that immediately if I found it for cheap. -
"portable" modeling kit...grab and go?
W-409 replied to Brian_B's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I build mostly at home, but sometimes when I go to visit my relatives, and I know that I'm going to spend there few days, I take my modeling stuff with me. I have my tools in basic Tool Box. All paints, paint brushes and glues, etc are inside it. Sounds messy, but actually it's not. When I "Move" my bench from one place to another, I put styrenes and stuff like that inside the box too. (In home I keep styrenes and aluminium sheets etc on different place). Then I take the Model Box(es) with me and go. -
