  1. This is very Cool. I like the paint on it, and engine details look sharp. Especially that text on the belt caught my eyes. Very nice and clean build.
  2. The huge gap between the Door Line and body makes me say Model... But when I say Model, it's possibly Real.
  3. http://cs.scaleautomag.com/sca/modeling_subjects/f/30/t/41879.aspx There is one set... Looks like it's rare, but I don't know if Air Trax has those (Finnish Resin Company by Juha Airio and Tapani Rauramo) on their shelves. AirTrax bodies are really nice quality, but bit pricey. Still they are worth buying.
  4. I agree with 1320Wayne on this. Most of my builds are in the Drag Section, and there are other great builds updated almost daily, easy to follow and alot of fun to follow. If all Motorsport categories will be put together, well, there will be a lot of Drag builds, but they are not as easy to follow as they are now. I think it should be left as it is, If It Ain't Broke, Don't Fix It. But..... I do agree with Harry, too. I don't understand why Drag Racing Models and NASCARS have own specific sections. Of course it's good for me and other Drag/NASCAR Builders, though.
  5. Wow this is looking excellent so far. You nailed the wheel and tire choice. Especially I like the Hoosier textes on the tires, and the way they fill those fender wells. Where are those tire decals from? I've seen one set in '69 Nova by Revell, but just wondering if there is another source for them. Keep it going, I will keep an close eye of this one.
  6. Thanks for the positive comments guys! They really keep me going. I had to put this one as a Back Burner for now, since I'm finishing The '53 Hudson Hornet for Model Car Show on January 26th. The Hudson can be seen in CBP section (The Hornet's Nest: Hudson Hornet Build Madness- topic). Once that is done, I will attack to this one again with full attention. I have sanded the seat smooth, though. Or at least pretty smooth, it needs some more putty before paint. Hope to have more soon.
  7. Thanx Doctor! My plan is to get this one finished next week, there's a Model Car Show on Saturday, so that's my plan. I finally got the body polished and it turned out very good. It looks better in person, though. Somehow didn't manage to take any better pictures, but I hope you get the idea. Next I have to remove some wax from it (White in the door lines, grooves etc.). Then it's time to start another "NightMare"- BMF!
  8. Heh, thanx James. The kit offers decals to the Fan Belt, two decals for the Generator, one for the Oil Breather Tube (can't be seen in that picture) and the Valve Cover Decals. It really is excellent kit. Of course it's very fun to build, too because of the parts count and nicely molded parts.
  9. Monogram STP Firebird has Weld Draglite Wheels. They are much different than those in the picture. I don't know where those are from, but there are tons of Centerline-type wheels in many kits, wide and narrow and something from the between.
  10. Thanks A Lot Bernard, Doctor and Matti! I got to say those wheels and tires turned out very good. Have to thank Revell, who made excellent kit of this car. And sorry for the delay on this. I have been really busy in school, and the time I've had, we have been in Garage building the 1:1 Chevelle. Yesterday I managed to get something done, though. Started the seat belts, installed them to the Roll Bar. I'm very glad to see Revell Made a Roll Bar with cross member where the seat belts can be installed. I'm still planning if I have to make one Roll Bar on the side of that bench seat, then it would be NHRA correct, but since it's '60s style Super Stocker, I'm still not sure about it. We'll see... The Seat is just Mocked Up.
  11. Very Nice Demon FC! I like the paint a lot, decals look great too. Fine job with wiring the engine, too. Those wheels got my attention-what did you use to paint them? The shade of Silver/Grey is just perfect.
  12. This turned out very nice! I really like the paint and weathering on it, and engine is excellent too. You really nailed the stance and tire and wheel choice. Nice Job!
  13. I'm suprised that no one has posted this yet. The legendary AMT Flip Nose Corvette! When I bought this kit, I thought it would be cool to build, since it looked nice on the box art. But then I found out that parts don't fit at all, and noticed the Retouched Photo Of Actual Model on the Box Top. Edit: Why part of my text dissapeared, and I had to write it again?
  14. Yep, got to agree with the others. I really like Pro Tech's Braided Line. I've had it once, and it was fantastic stuff. Now I had Scale Dreams' stuff, because Model Car Import had no ProTech lines in stock when I bought that last time, it's far away from Pro Tech's quality. Next weekend there's a Model Car Show, I hope I can get few packages of Pro Tech lines there.
  15. I have a Soft Spot for these GM H-Bodies. They are really fun cars in 1:1 scale, and I'm building one in 1/25 too. Your progress looks excellent so far, but for the wheel choice, I would think about Centerlines or Weld DragLites. Those look like 90s hitech to me.
  16. Excellent engine choice on this one, can't get better than those Old W-Blocks! You are doing excellent job with this build, I will be following this one surely. The best 409 Engine I've seen, is in the new Revell '62 Impala. Here's picture of my engine in progress, only those carburetor linkages, plug wires etc. are added details, other than those it's box stock. Ouch, just noticed mold seam in this picture....Gotta Fix that one.
  17. Very cool Dragster! I like the paint job on it, looking Vintage-style. The Slant Six is an excellent powerplant for this one, nice details too. Maybe moving the engine bit closer to firewall would still work?
  18. Nice looking Pickup, Ian! The weathering looks excellent, and I do like the stance too. Dodgefever, sure, I'll add you on the list. Thanx for joining in.
  19. Both look very good! You do very good job in short time, that's always great to see. Especially I like the Cuda FC, the paint and decals turned out very nice.
  20. I think the front end looks okay, and side profile isn't too bad either.... Only the rear end looks bad for me, where are the round taillights what have been in Corvettes from the Early days? But overall, it's pretty nice car, and especially I like that GM builds Front engined sports cars with powerful engine, not as europeans or japanese manufacturers, who make Middle-engined cars.
  21. Thanks for the great comments. Steven: I use Flocking which I bought from local model car show maybe few years ago. I really don't remember the manufacturer, but I think the bag looks like this:http://www.modelcargarage.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=70 . It's really easy to use, just put enough material over wet paint, and when it dries, knock all spare flocking away and you're done. I'm planning of starting the interior tomorrow.
  22. Then I started cutting the door panels. I want them to be smooth, that center section looks bit modern to me, so let's draw the cutting lines and let the sawing begin! Glue some styrene to the hole, and use Super Glue to fill the gaps.... Then I came up with this. Putty time.
  23. Since many of you know, I really don't like seeing Old Classic cars being modernized with big wheels and/or modern engine and transmission etc. Also I got Revell's Chevy SSR Model kit as a prize on local Model Car Show... ...So I decided to start building it as Old School style Pickup. I'm planning to add Chevy Smallblock from the Street Fighter '60 Chevy Nomad with Old School style speed parts. I'm going for '60s look with the engine. Wheels and tires will be of course 15" Steelie Wheels and White Wall tires. Also the interior is way too modern for me, it will need a lot of cutting and smoothing, but I hope I can do something for it. I started today by gluing the engine block together. Can't really say that the engine is good quality, needs to add some putty on it tomorrow. Once test fitted on place, I had to cut part of the front suspension off so I could get the engine fit right. Once I get bit further, I will glue the part back to little different position.
  24. Thanx Kerry and Matti ! Here's some more... I painted all of the chassis parts yesterday, and today I installed the Front and Rear Suspension pieces to chassis. I had huge problems with connecting to rear tires to the chassis... But somehow I got them on place. Also flocked the interior floor.
  25. Very nice work so far. The detailing is incredible, I bet this will be cool to follow. Lifted Pickups, Jeeps and other OffRoaders are cool to watch come together, hopefully I'll be building one some day too. ('66 Ford Bronco kit, anyone??? )
