It looks like Revell's Black Widow to me, but can't be sure. Progress so far looks really nice, I guess I have to start hacking on mine again.

Nightmare Kits CBP - aka Masochistic Modelers Anonymous
W-409 replied to Jantrix's topic in Community Builds
I have been working on the chassis of my El Camino. I hope I can get fast Mock Up done today and see if it has the correct stance. If not, then I need to do some adjustments, but I should have an update soon. Also I need to figure out those Headers for the engine. It shouldn't take too long before it's done. -
1/16 Revell Hawaiian Dodge Charger Funny Car
W-409 replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
"Luckily" it's 1/16 scale so I can be without buying it. Even if I'd like to build 1/16 scale build some day, but it would get bit too expensive since all seat belt materials, wires hoses etc needed to be bought seperately. But I can't wait to see what Chris would do with this kit. -
Nice! As a huge Fan of Gassers, I like this one a lot. Perfect color choice, that "Baby Blue" fits perfectly to this one. I like the Hood Scoop, too. Really nice.

Thanks so much Bill and Ron! It means a lot. I got the Door Panels finished tonight. They are painted red of course, some BMF, detail painting and those little Decals from the kit made them look like they are now. Next I will move on to the Dashboard and Steering Wheel & Column and then I should have the interior completed soon. We have Custom Culture Show here in Finland 16th & 17th of February, I can't get this one finished there, but luckily I do have quite a few Pre'65 Drag Cars on my shelf. Thanx For Looking!

Very cool builds, all of them! You got nice eye for little details. Especially the last Chevy Gasser caught my eye-it looks really good in that Red Oxide Primer. Keep up the good work!

Nice to see 409 Engines! Especially with the Hilborn Fuel Injection. The engine looks excellent to me, oh and did I say that yes, it is the only "Correct" engine for '62 Chevy. Nice job with the body and interior, too. I really like the color, nice paint job too. I bet that will look excellent once polished. Keep it coming. Now I know what I'll do tomorrow. I will start one 409 with Hilborns too, to go with the Blown 409 and the one with Tunnel Ram I have on the bench.

I think any kit what has no major fit issues or other bad things, is okay. As I started with AMT '60 Starliner, then continued with AMT '57 Fairlane and Belvedere. Those were not the easiest ones like SnapKits, but I can't remember bigger issues with them because the qualities of those kits were really nice. Oh well the Fairlane doors were horrible, since they were opening and didn't fit at all, and exhaust in '58 Belvedere was bit difficult, otherwise everything went okay. Those would be good I think, the Camaro looks already Great, so I do believe he could build those kits too. It's nice to have whole Family in model building isn't it? My dad got me into Model Building, he had built models earlier but he was having a 20 year break, but then I managed to get him back into modeling and after that I got my little sister to build Model Cars too. She's building Revell's '60 Impala, that would be one good kit too. Mother needs to still get inside the Hobby.

As others have said, it looks excellent! Really like the engine detailing on it, and interior looks excellent. Nicely done all over, makes me want to get one of these kits...

Thanks guys for the nice words! They are really appreciated. Chris: Yes, the white high spots are Pipings. Just didn't know how I could say it in English. And the idea for the Red interior came from Matti's '62 Impala, it looked so good that I had to try my hand at it too. Today I'm planning of doing some BMF work with the Door Panels, and probably getting the seat installed with the seatbelts too.
-
Thanks a Lot Jeff! It means a lot when coming from such a talented builder as you. I got the seat done. It needed more work than I thought, but the end-result is pretty good I think. I had to use quite a lot putty for the seams what came when I glued those two parts together, and once I had sanded it few times and added more putty, I painted the seat red and those chrome trims silver. I didn't use BMF, because it couldn't be seen so well after all. Then I removed the paint from those "High spots". I have no idea what they are in English, but I've seen those in 1:1 cars. Decals are from the kit. I have to install it next, and then put the seat belts on, stay tuned.

I'm not a ProMod type of guy, even if I have one in progress, but I think it looks really good so far! I can't say any bad words of it, really nice. Just remember to add the window net once you get the cage painted. What engine you are going to use? Oh and you can find good reference from those ProMod builds in here. Here are few I have used on mine. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=48179 http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=67869&page=1 http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=46538 http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=56886 http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=61587 Hope this helps.

Looks Excellent! There can never be too many Stockers or Super Stockers, especially when they are built very nicely. As This. My favorite part is the Detailing on the engine bay, it looks just like 1:1 engine. Nice paint and decaling too. How did you make the Air Cleaner? You said it's scratchbuilt. What materials you used?

When I finish one, I can start 10 without feeling bad, but that really makes the Project stash huge, and causes slowly finishing projects, when trying to build too many cars at the same time. Otherwise I'm doing Okay.

"The Gibson Bone" CROSSROADS BLUES '32 (Stacey David's Rat Roaster)
W-409 replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in Model Cars
As always, Doctor amazes me with his excellent builds! Really like this one, the "Black" looks really good and fits nicely on this one. You pulled this out very fast, Congratulations on that, too. All the "Junk" in trunk and interior, nice ideas all over (For example the Crankshaft as Frame Crossmember etc) make this pop out! Really nice. -
Thanks guys for the excellent comments! What Marty says, is true. Needs to say it is just Stock build. Thanks! Bernard: Thanks! Next I will probably finish the '62 Impala in Drag Racing Models, or '64 Belvedere in NASCARS section, or.........

Very nice Buick! One of the nicest cars Buick ever made, your version does it a justice. Very good paint job and nice detailing all over. I really like this one. And hey- Can't wait to see the GNX. There can never be enough Grand Nationals.

...And We Have SparkPlug Wires! I had bit trouble with the Wire Looms, this was the first time ever I tried them. They make wiring look much better, so I hope to use them more in the future. I decided to go with the Yellow wires this time.
-
Thanks! I don't know where it is from, I found it from my parts boxes. But I'm guessing it's AMT Engine. I've been in trouble with the spark plug wires. I hope to get them installed today.

70.5 Z28 10.5 Outlaw (WIP....Update 7.9.13)
W-409 replied to hOLMS's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Very nice job with the Camaro so far, especially I like what you did for the Headlights. The rear spoiler looks very nice too. And beautiful Chassis work! -
That is Nice! I like the paint job on it, nice color too. Details on the engine are fantastic, and I do like the little updates you made. The new Headers look much better, same thing with the Chute.

The reason why I always clear coat, is that it makes it much easier to get that correct shine to the paint job. It makes Polishing easier, too. And since Hornets were shiny from the factory, I think it's not too critical mistake. Do you guys see if the model is clear coated or not? I know I can't .
-
Thanks Marty! I'm planning to build one Custom version of this kit at some point in the future. Gasser would be nice to build too, to match '60s Gasser Rules. And thanks for the information about the clear coat! I can't get the rest of my text in here, somehow it won't post it. The rest is on the next post.

Thanks for the nice comments guys! Och Hej Stefan. Det är trevligt att se fler människor från Nothern Europe här. (Don't know if that's correct, had to use Google Translator. My Swedish is not very good). I'm slowly working on the interior. If I get the seat decals installed today, I will post small update on the progress with that seat. Thanks for looking guys, and for the great comments.

A little update on my '86 Camino, after sanding, sanding and sanding I decided to try how it looks in color. It's Maston spray paint and the paint job turned out Okay. I'm going to do light wetsand and then it will look better. Clearcoat still to come, too. Also I've made some rough sanding with the chassis, more of it coming later...
