  1. Thanks John! Here is a minor update. I sprayed paint and clear to the Dashboard. I hope I can add some details tomorrow to it. Also the interior should be assembled soon....
  2. Thanks for the tip Bill, I will make a Dry fit tomorrow and see if it needs little adjusting. The Thunderbolts you posted in Under Glass while back were great! It is always nice to see Vintage Drag Cars being built. A little update, too. I painted the chassis today with Matt Black. I have all axles etc painted, so if everything goes allright, I should have them installed tomorrow.
  3. That turned out excellent! I like the look of that car, it looks very good as an AWB. Great engine details and nice paint job, too. I'd be very proud of that one.
  4. Yep, it is much worse than the old Photobucket version was. When that new version came up and it was still possible to use the Older version too, I switched back right away... Luckily the pictures upload to the correct album nowadays, few days ago they went every time to wrong place when I uploaded them. Doesn't matter if I chose the correct album where they should be uploaded or not. I'm hoping of getting the interior finished today...
  5. This is going to be built like "It could have Raced in the '60s" so there's no 1:1 car what I'm trying to replicate. It will be built bit like how I would have built it if I had raced (Or actually lived) in the '60s. As for the interior color, I try to do my best, we don't have much Tamiya paints in here but we have some other strange brands which I guess have a color shade pretty close to that. I must print that picture and head to the nearest Hobby Shop. Little update, I built the Roll bar using the '57 Chevy Roll bar as a basis (Red part) and the white parts are made from "EverGreen Transkit". They are just Mocked up.
  6. Thanks Steve and Tom! These are really nice kits and they build up very nice. Also I like the Slant Six engine in that stock '64 Belvedere kit. I had to add some more putty to the Dashboard, but after that it looked really good to me so I painted it Gloss black. I'm hoping to get it installed today, if I do so I'll post another picture....
  7. Thanks Guys! Matti: Post pictures of your '64 Dodge also. I'd really like to see how it comes together. Well not much done since the latest update, I have been mostly painting other projects, and also got the chassis of Thunderbolt primered. It needed some putty, though because the removed Copyright textes could still be seen. After a little sanding and new Primer coat, I came up with this. Next I'll paint it black and hopefully continue the interior work, too.
  8. Thanks Richard! I have been doing bodywork and it's coming slowly. There has been some need for putty and now it's the Third primer coat on the body, and it's not done yet even if it looks pretty good in the pictures. The first two pics show the putties sanded smooth and then I primered it. Hopefully it would look good after next primer coat...
  9. This will be interesting! I can't wait to see how this turns out, the start looks excellent. I hope we would see more of these '50s and early '60s cars built this style.
  10. Thanks Carl! I'm really happy about the result, too. The contest Judges have liked it also.
  11. I have completely enjoyed about Real Or Model, sometimes there have been pictures where it has been absolutely impossible to see if it is Real or Model. Auto ID Quiz is very fun too.
  12. Why Would you buy a Hummer because you can get something a bit bigger? http://www.snotr.com/video/7581/Top_Gear_-_The_Marauder "This is a good Town Car"
  13. I visited in On The Workbench yesterday and this thread had Fifteen pages. Now there's couple of pages of comments about incorrectly assembled Valve covers! Okay I got it too, they are wrongly mounted. But and this is a big BUT, I do believe that once John gets everything assembled, detailed and installed the engine, no one would notice the Valve covers if they were not mentioned 1,000,000 times in this thread. This build is absolutely out of this world, I'm completely blown away, doesn't matter how those Valve Covers are installed. Keep it going John!
  14. Oh I saw two bodies I really want and what I've wanted for a long time. The Corvette Nomad and that Ford Bronco are really good looking bodies. I have to get them at some point I guess. Great thread, I'll keep an eye on this one.
  15. Today I got some clear on the body. It looks pretty good now, well it of course needs polishing, but otherwise I like it. Now I will let it dry maybe a Week or so, and then start the polishing process. I might work on the details that time.
  16. Okay I F-I-N-A-L-L-Y have the Dashboard filled with bondo. There was quite large sink mark or what it is called, and it needed to be filled. Next some sanding, and then some paint. Hope to get the interior done soon. You can see '57 Chevy Black Widow on the back, hope to get that one done in a Month or two, let's see when I can paint it, now it's still in the bondo-sanding stage...
  17. Thanks Ken! I was drooling your Catalina so much that I couldn't get a word from my mouth. You did Excellent job with it. Yes, both of us really like Stockers, Super Stockers and of course Junior Stockers and other stuff. I just wish Mika would get something more done than painted engine block...
  18. Wow I was really suprised to see this old thread at the top of the page again! Thanks Jeremy, and I do agree, it's very nice to see what is currently being built in The USA, there's so much talented builders.
  19. Thanks Steve and Jeremy! Not much more done yet, but I think I might continue the progress with interior. The body should be primered, too.
  20. Hey Kenn if you're having trouble with Photobucket, make another account and upload your pics there. It makes this thread more fun to follow when the pictures don't need to be enlarged, and it maybe makes them easier to post, too? I don't know, I have never used the Thumbnails system. I made another Photobucket account too while back, and without it I guess my Photobucket account would have been full of pics soon, too. Anyway the model looks excellent so far. I really like how the Wheels look. Hmm, that might be worth trying since I need wire wheels for couple of Front Engine Dragster projects....
  21. Thanks guys! I will start looking for one of those engines and once I find one, I could start building. I have the Lindberg '64 Dodge bought as a Donor car, the chassis really fits nicely and all I need is just the engine what was missing from the '64 Dodge kit. I think I have one of those AMT '49 Mercury engines somewhere...
  22. Hey guys, are you already in Long Beach, has the race even started or are you somewhere between the start and Finish lines? So this means that I haven't seen the vote, did I miss it or if I didn't, what was the result? My Camaro is Finally BLACK! I thought that it was smooth enough and decided to shoot some color on it. Hopefully I can clear coat it tomorrow to make it shine.
  23. Okay I'm slowly thinking of starting this build, and well it might not be a suprise to anyone that since I'm building, it will be Stock Eliminator Drag Car with 383 Cid engine. So my question is: Where can I find correct 383 for 1960 year model, or if it can be modified from another engine?
  24. Bill just said what I was going to. I have always enjoyed about the style of your builds, too. I'm a Hot Rod guy too and really like them, but somehow I build them only a few in smaller scale. Maybe it would be a time to fix that problem... Also when I like Old School stuff, it's pretty obvious that I enjoy following these threads! I like what you did for the interior and wheels. They look Great! Color choice is perfect also. I'm tuned in for more.
  25. There are some pics of what I think are good colors for '30s Fords. Actually all of these cars are Located in Finland.
