  1. Very nice Chevy II. Excellent finishing, and cleanly built. I like it. Since I have built the kit, too I have to take my hat (Which I actually don't have) off and congratulate you...The kit is not very good IMO. Are the Injector Stacks from the kit or Aftermarket?
  2. Great News! I sent you a PM, I usually check my Email so rarely that I'd forgot to check it...
  3. Wow nice collection, Richard! I really like them all, but somehow that '58 Chevy Pro Street just fits to my eye perfectly. Maybe it's because I'm building the same car as Pro Streeter with Blown 409 in it. But as I said, all of them are very nice.
  4. The new Eye Candy is rolling in here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=72751 Again, the FreakShow turned out fantastic! I could never do that much bodywork that nicely, great job.
  5. Woo Hoo, it looks excellent! Thanks Tom for making the Master and thanks Kevin for making it into production. I can't wait for the '74 once that comes out at some point. But in the meanwhile... Do you ship these to Finland? And what would be the price of that kit? I have to start saving my pennies.
  6. Here are over 400 pages of Junior Stockers on The H.A.M.B. It should take a while to go through that whole thread, but it is very cool. I've been planning many Jr Stocker projects while going through that Topic, and I already have one '58 Chevy Sedan Delivery body waiting..... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=201085 I have some of Mika's pictures from Bakersfield Nostalgic Drag Races from the '90s.... We just don't know how to scan them.
  7. Great job with the frames, the paint is looking incredible. I'm taking notes on these, since I have that 1/25 Don Garlits' Rear Engine Dragster, which has quite similar engine and suspesion etc... The wheels and tires look very good too, they need to be 1:1 scale.
  8. I'm building '58 Chevy Sedan Delivery Pro Street, and for that body, AMT '66 Nova ProStreet chassis fits. It needs to be a bit wider than original, and you will need to stretch the front frame and rear floor, but those are really easy to do modifications. I guess the chassis fits to AMT '58 Impala, too. Oh well I got AMT '58 Impala and that chassis, as well as Pro Sportsman chassis... I can do a test fit for you.
  9. Okay this is just my opinion, and I'm sure there are better ways, but here's what I use. Glue: I use regular Super Glue what can be found from Hardware stores. Mine is made by Locktite, but I don't know what brands you have in the USA, so I can't say what is good and what isn't of those you have there. Rocket super glues work fine, too. These work for most of the parts I need to glue. And sometimes I glue parts on place with super glue, but then I make the glueing stronger with liquid glue. I use mainly Plastruct's Plastic Weld or Tamiya, but I've heard that Ambroid Proweld and Model Master works fine too. Sometimes I use Revell liquid glue also. For little chrome parts (Door Handles, Mirrors etc) and for glasses I use white glue because it dries invisible. Putty: I use Squadron Green and White putty for smaller places, basically if you don't make big body modifications, that is all you need. It shrinks if applied too thick, but that is not a problem when fixing the simple ejector marks etc. For body modifications and other stuff like that, I use Two Part Bondo that is used on 1:1 car bodies. It doesn't shrink, but it is harder to sand - Green and White putties are very easy to sand and that's why I like them so much. For interior flocking, I paint the interior floor with that color what the Flocking will be, and then I put the Flocking over wet paint. Once the paint is dry, I remove all unnecessary Flocking from it, and then it's ready for assembly. Hope it helps.
  10. Oh I forgot that I had posted this kind of Topic in here, but I have some more. (There are more older pics, too. Watch them all if interested. ). But American Car Show 2013 pictures are here. First the Friday photos: Here are All Of Them: http://tapahtumakuvia.kuvat.fi/kuvat/Tapahtumat+2013/36th+FHRA+American+Car+Show+/Friday/ And Monday, when the cars rolled out from the Show: Link To All Of Them: http://tapahtumakuvia.kuvat.fi/kuvat/Tapahtumat+2013/36th+FHRA+American+Car+Show+/Monday/
  11. It's better to take One Step Further than Two Steps Back.

  12. Hey guys! I just got Revell's new '10 Camaro kit, and I will be building the new Copo Camaro from it. This thread will be both, for collecting reference pictures, and finding parts for the build, and later I will post the progress on here, too. My first step is to find Reference pictures. Here is my Reference-Albums on Fotki (http://public.fotki.com/ModelCarReference/reference-pics/chevrolet/2012-copo-camaro/ ), they are under construction, but all pics what I got of Copo Camaro, are there. If you have more pics, or find more pics of mainly the engine, interior and chassis, they would be greatly appreciated. And of course, where could I find these parts: 1. Blower. I'm going with 327 SBC and Blower on this one, but where could I get one. '07 Shelby Mustang has something that is pretty close, but how about some other kits, or resin parts? 2. The Hood. Is there resin part, or do I have to make that scoop from styrene? 3. Wheels. There might not be perfect ones, but as close as possible. Where I could find something similar, or then where could I start modifying? 4. Decals. They are quite simple, I could paint them too, but of course it would be easier if there would be complete set of them. There might be more parts I don't know where to get, I just don't remember all of them....All kind of help would be appreciated.
  13. I had to try what I could do with these Picture-editing programs... And wow they are even harder to use than I thought! After a lot of swearing and many times of doing the same thing, I ended up from this: To This: It is not perfect, and actually far away from it. But the first time I tried using that program. The Impala is Chopped, I removed the inner Headlights and Hood Lettering. I will post more if I manage to make them.
  14. Yes it seems to be! I smoothed the Ford's engine with putty. And while it was drying, I had to continue an old, stalled Gasser project of mine. It is '50 Austin Gasser by Revell. It will be built mainly OOB, with added details and engine swap, the Ford engine from the kit just didn't look good. And because I'm a Chevy guy myself, I think 427 BBC will handle this one well. It will be Hilborn Injected. The block is from Monogram 1/24 kits, not just sure which one. I glued the halves together, sanded the seams and then I filled few mold mistakes I found. Tomorrow I hope to get it primered. Also the kit's Frame didn't look very good. A lot of sanding, smoothing and work to do. It looks much better in picture than it really is.
  15. Okay I thought it would be great time to get this one rolling. So it's my '69 Torino Talladega which will have Ford Big Block and ProCharger. Well since I guess those two brothers who are going to participate in the race will drive High speeds with this one, I figured out I should make a proper Roll Cage for this one. Luckily I had Polar Lights' Petty Torino, which is same year model than this one. I'm scratchbuilding a cage from Plastic tubing using that cage as basis. I Made some simple drawings of how to bend those tubes... Here's the start: This is where I am at right now: And I painted the engine block with primer. It needed only a bit sanding and smoothing before primer - but no putty or Bondo.
  16. Thanks Jonathan! It means a lot.
  17. This turned out Great! Very good idea, and when the build-quality is as good as this, I really like it. Nice paint job and excellent bodywork. The engines look good in there, too. Nice job. Can't wait to see what you are building next.
  18. Nice job guys on them all! It seems to be easier to start a new project, than finish old ones. I decided to build NHRA Legal Gasser from Lindberg's '40 Ford Coupe that comes with the kit where is also that Dodge L700-Truck. This will be built to match the 1963 Rules. I started from the chassis....At first I thought this is going to be a bit easier project, but the chassis showed immediately, that it won't. Lindberg has molded the Exhaus pipe to the chassis, and it can't be removed without making damage to the floor pans. So I decided to cut the Floor away. After that I started cleaning the frame, but there is still a lot more work to do with it. Engine will be Oldsmobile 394 Cid V8 that was produced from 1959 to 1964. It will have A Blower to make this Ford bit faster. With that engine combination, it will go to A/GS.
  19. There are ready Photo Etch detail kits for carburetors. Mostly they are for Holley carbs. Many of my builds have Rochester Quadrajet, since I build alot of those Stock Eliminator Drag Cars, so there are no Detail kits available. Drill the carburetor throats open and add Fuel Lines just as the Reference pics say. The carburetor linkage can be scratchbuilt, too. Also I bought just a pair of decent looking Carter AFB carburetors. Can't remember the Manufacturer, though but they were Resin. Few Carburetors of mine.
  20. Nice work! Olds Gasser is on my "To Build-List" too. The body style is excellent and the Gasser style really fits to this one. Nice and Shiny paint job and excellent detailing in the Engine Bay. Great job.
  21. Wow that is Cool! I have been missing your projects, glad to see one rolling again. And the subject couldn't be much better. I like the FlipNose a lot, nice job with the steering too.
  22. Haha, why would you buy a Bugatti Veyron since now you can get something a bit more powerful straight from the factory. It looks much better than that Bugatti does, too. If I had the money, I'd get one right away.
  23. Thanks a lot guys! The kind words are really appreciated. Kevin: The Air Cleaner is one of my favorite parts, too. It turned out better than I originally thought. Michael: Yeah, I wanted to keep those narrow tires, they just fit nicely to this kind of Road Racer. And for the wheel size, I Never put bigger wheels than 15" on these Classic Cars, just like my signature says. Now back to the '65 Rachero.
  24. Well here in Finland we have pretty good amount of Hobby Shops and other Dealers. I live in Vantaa, which is very close to our Capital Helsinki, where are at least Four Hobby Shops. One has airplanes and other Military stuff, but it is possible to find cars in the rest of them. Especially TietoNikkari has a lot of car models on their stash. And it is possible to buy Evergreen and other styrenes and plastic rods etc from those shops, as well as BMF, Revell & Humbroll Paints etc. Then we have a few online dealers, and one of them sells of course model kits, but also a lot of Aftermarket stuff, parts, resins and Photo Etch sets etc. I have bought a lot of stuff from these Dealers, and there are more of them too. And we mostly have American Cars in here. Also private sellers have great kits and parts for sale. The rarest or the newest items need to be ordered from the US, but otherwise it's possible to find treasures from Finland, too. Oh and about the prices....They are a bit more expensive here, of course, but mainly new kits are from 25 to 30€.
  25. Very nicely done Camaro! I really like the paint work and the overall detailing on this. Especially I like the hood with that Cowl Induction scoop. Really nice job all over. The lettering on the tires is done perfectly, too. It is also nice to see these Camaros with 15" Wheels and high profile tires. It looks thousand times better than with those original low profile tires and big wheels. Congrats on very fine build.
