  1. Cool Nova build! I like the decals a lot, are they from Model King's Austin Gasser kit? Nice paint job and detailing, too. Really like the Rake on it also.
  2. We had a Custom Culture Show last weekend here in Finland. There were few cars, lots of bikes and Pinstripers, metal fabricators etc. And of course good Bands! Especially I liked Texas Oil's music. There was a Model Car Show, too and I was putting it together with few others. Excellent event, here are some pictures for you... Few Teasers... All Pictures Here: http://tapahtumakuvia.kuvat.fi/kuvat/Tapahtumat+2013/Custom+Culture+Show+16.-17.2.2013/
  3. This turned out very nice! I like the color on it, and paint job is excellent. All work you put into this build really shows - especially I like the opening doors and removable trunk lid. Beautiful detailing, too. Have you tried to get that engine running yet?
  4. Nice GTX, I like the Steelies with DogDish hubcaps on this one. Nice paint job also and fantastic detailing in the engine bay. Really good job, I'd like to see more of these!
  5. I'm 100% Finnish Model builder, so I'll say something. We have FCMA which is Finnish Car Modelers Association and it organizes Model car shows here in Finland and publishes a magazine called Vitriini (where I am a "Journalist", too) and it is really nice magazine especially when thinking that it's for Members only and it is made on free time. The main event FCMA puts together year after year is FCMA Open in November, and FCMA is organizing Model Car shows in American Car Show and many other events. FCMA Forum is alive too and there are some really nice builds. And at the local Model Car Shows there are usually 100-200 models. We have a few Model kit dealers, for example TietoNikkari, Hobby Point, Mallikauppa, Tmi Jarkko Turunen etc. The only Aftermarket dealer, Model Car Import is now closing though. A few excellent Finnish Model Car Builders and an example of their work.... -Juha Airio http://tapahtumakuvia.kuvat.fi/kuvat/Tapahtumat+2012/Model+Cars/IPMS+Open+13.10.2012/PA130321.JPG And http://tapahtumakuvia.kuvat.fi/kuvat/Tapahtumat+2012/Model+Cars/IPMS+Open+13.10.2012/PA130285.JPG -Tapani Rauramo http://tapahtumakuvia.kuvat.fi/kuvat/Tapahtumat+2012/Model+Cars/FCMA+Open+3.11.2012/PB030360.JPG -Eero Kumanto http://tapahtumakuvia.kuvat.fi/kuvat/Tapahtumat+2013/Custom+Culture+Show+16.-17.2.2013/Model+Cars/DSCN0951.JPG ...And so many more. The hobby is alive in here!
  6. You just make it look way too easy. I'm having huge problems with scratchbuilding simple parts, like Throttle Bodies for Drag Cars and you just build entire model from scratch. It looks excellent to me, keep it coming.
  7. Great Project! It looks very good already, keep going. We had one V8 Bug here in Finland, it was really mean car. Haven't seen it for a while, though. My buddy built his version of V8 Beetle in 1/25 scale too few years ago.
  8. I have no idea how I managed to miss this build, but it sure looks great! There can never be enough Stockers/Super Stockers. I really like the paint on it, and the extra details you have added are really nice. Now, let's go Racing, I have built the Ramchargers version of this kit.
  9. Thanks Matti. I've done some bodywork on this one, I hope to have it primered soon. There are few Mold lines still to be sanded.
  10. Nice Vega, got to love those GM H-Bodies. I really like the Paint job on this, the overall detailing and clean look is something I really like. Nice to see these with Four Cylinder engines, too. Very nice.
  11. Nice! Just the way I like them, the paint, stance and everything is just right. Detailing is superb on the engine bay and chassis too. Nice job as usual.
  12. Nice Bug! I really like it, the color, wheel choice etc look really good! I also like the exhaust pipe, just like real VW Drag Car exhaust pipes are. Nice build! We had one Drag Racing VW Bug here in Finland too in the Late '70s. It was called Hitler's Revenge.
  13. Yes, thanks to Christopher of the inspiration, it's coming along again!
  14. I got a inspiration to finish these old projects. Yesterday I clened the dust from Black Widow's box and decided to finish this one. It's on four wheels now, I built the extra pair of Shocks from ones I found in my Parts Box, I just had to make them bit taller. Small styrene slips to the Leaf Springs made it possible to install those shocks. Also I put the Rear Stabilizer Bar on. It is made from metal wire and brackets are styrene and smaller metal wire.
  15. I managed to get my El Camino on Four wheels, I had to raise the front end a little, rear end was just correct from the kit. I painted the letters to rear tires, too. Of course this car needed Cowl Induction scoop, too. I didn't have one, so I had to scratchbuild one from styrene. Here are few Mock Up pics.
  16. It looks like Revell's Black Widow to me, but can't be sure. Progress so far looks really nice, I guess I have to start hacking on mine again.
  17. I have been working on the chassis of my El Camino. I hope I can get fast Mock Up done today and see if it has the correct stance. If not, then I need to do some adjustments, but I should have an update soon. Also I need to figure out those Headers for the engine. It shouldn't take too long before it's done.
  18. "Luckily" it's 1/16 scale so I can be without buying it. Even if I'd like to build 1/16 scale build some day, but it would get bit too expensive since all seat belt materials, wires hoses etc needed to be bought seperately. But I can't wait to see what Chris would do with this kit.
  19. Nice! As a huge Fan of Gassers, I like this one a lot. Perfect color choice, that "Baby Blue" fits perfectly to this one. I like the Hood Scoop, too. Really nice.
  20. Thanks so much Bill and Ron! It means a lot. I got the Door Panels finished tonight. They are painted red of course, some BMF, detail painting and those little Decals from the kit made them look like they are now. Next I will move on to the Dashboard and Steering Wheel & Column and then I should have the interior completed soon. We have Custom Culture Show here in Finland 16th & 17th of February, I can't get this one finished there, but luckily I do have quite a few Pre'65 Drag Cars on my shelf. Thanx For Looking!
  21. Very cool builds, all of them! You got nice eye for little details. Especially the last Chevy Gasser caught my eye-it looks really good in that Red Oxide Primer. Keep up the good work!
  22. Nice to see 409 Engines! Especially with the Hilborn Fuel Injection. The engine looks excellent to me, oh and did I say that yes, it is the only "Correct" engine for '62 Chevy. Nice job with the body and interior, too. I really like the color, nice paint job too. I bet that will look excellent once polished. Keep it coming. Now I know what I'll do tomorrow. I will start one 409 with Hilborns too, to go with the Blown 409 and the one with Tunnel Ram I have on the bench.
  23. I think any kit what has no major fit issues or other bad things, is okay. As I started with AMT '60 Starliner, then continued with AMT '57 Fairlane and Belvedere. Those were not the easiest ones like SnapKits, but I can't remember bigger issues with them because the qualities of those kits were really nice. Oh well the Fairlane doors were horrible, since they were opening and didn't fit at all, and exhaust in '58 Belvedere was bit difficult, otherwise everything went okay. Those would be good I think, the Camaro looks already Great, so I do believe he could build those kits too. It's nice to have whole Family in model building isn't it? My dad got me into Model Building, he had built models earlier but he was having a 20 year break, but then I managed to get him back into modeling and after that I got my little sister to build Model Cars too. She's building Revell's '60 Impala, that would be one good kit too. Mother needs to still get inside the Hobby.
  24. As others have said, it looks excellent! Really like the engine detailing on it, and interior looks excellent. Nicely done all over, makes me want to get one of these kits...
  25. Thanks guys for the nice words! They are really appreciated. Chris: Yes, the white high spots are Pipings. Just didn't know how I could say it in English. And the idea for the Red interior came from Matti's '62 Impala, it looked so good that I had to try my hand at it too. Today I'm planning of doing some BMF work with the Door Panels, and probably getting the seat installed with the seatbelts too.
