  1. That GMC Stepside has very nice body shaping, I think, body looks better than Fleetside. But everything else on that Fleetside is looking better, great job with it. It's really rare to see Pro Street Pickups.
  2. It has been long time without updates. But today I took this on the bench again. Those rear wheel openings were too big, so I had to make them smaller using styrene. Now I need to make somekind of "axle" so I can do same thing for the other side too. And there's lots of sanding to be done, and bondo is needed too. But this is just starting point-I will build other side on same situation, and then start shaping and cleaning out those...
  3. Thanks, Mark and Andrew! Some bondo for the engine block. Tomorrow some sanding, and if everything looks good, I will paint it with primer. I'm trying to build this car as nice as I can, all of the ejector marks, and mold lines need to be removed. And of course detailing is important too.
  4. How I should paint door panels, as I'm building factory Stock Hudson? I was looking for pictures, but didn't find any good ones...
  5. That looks like great conversion. Next you can fit that leftover bed to some other cab, and that will be another cool conversion. Great job, I like where this is heading, needs to stay tuned for more.
  6. Well, it has been a while since the last drawing... I had to try, if I still can do them... It didn't turn as good as I wanted, but hopefully next one turns out better. I've been thinking about making next one as good, as I can. I can see few problems on this Chevelle, but maybe next one will be better.
  7. Here's little update. I painted some silver for the valve covers, to give some more realistic look. Somehow they just didn't look good. I also removed some ejector marks from the intake manifold, and that's why there were not much chrome left. I painted it silver, but after that I found little mistake, which needs to be fixed before assembling that intake manifold. I have no pics about valve covers yet anyway. Here's the intake manifold. And also I had to glue piece of paper between the engine block, and that bellhousing, because otherwise it was possible to see, what's inside that bellhousing and there were nothing, of course. So I glued bit of paper, and painted it orange to fix this thing.
  8. Well, you guys just don't get it. From here, Finland. It's three hours flight to Paris. Last winter, we came to Orlando, Florida. It was 16 hours travel, with one plane change etc. Then, I visited two model shops, and no one wasn't asking, why I'm visiting them... As I said, I visited in two model shops, and then Daytona Speedway, and some of those Universal Studios etc. Last summer, we were in Rome, Italy. I visited in one Model shop there... If I remember correctly, it was 3 page thread here and no one suggested model shops to visit there... But I found one, good one. I visited there, and of course those traditional Colosseums, Vatican etc. I can post pictures, if you don't believe it. Now when I'm going to Paris, visiting in Model Shops takes few hours of that tourney, Museums, and that Eifel Tower etc. are on the list too, of course. So why not to do them both? Traditional places to visit, and model shops? You have more than 10 hours flight to Paris, guys. It's bit different than my 3 hour flight.
  9. Well, this was really great information, THANKS! I've been thinking, that Green Putty is too thick, but needs to try some thinner. Thanks. I've been looking for another, thinner putty which is bit easier to use, than "bondo". But now if it works, problem is solved. Thanks again. Steven: Thanks for the information. That shows, Tin Box version should have been better. But in this kit, there's frame and body for two Dragsters, so axles etc. are not so big problem. I was watching, that Streamliner Dragster can be modified to look better too. I'm going to take Dremel on my hands, when I start building it. Thanks for the information.
  10. I would suggest Pro Mod too, but maybe I'd start it from AMT kit, which has stock body. But I think, Chopped '49 Mercury would look good too as Pro Mod racer, but I think, PM cars look the best when front end is not shaped aerodynamic. So I wouldn't do any other body modifications, than spoiler and chop top. Of course hood needs some work too...
  11. Well, that's Cool! That 1:1 photo looks very nice too, and build looks very interesting so far. Great stance you have there, even if rear end needs to be bit higher. And I'd like to go with injected Hemi, blown Hemi engines are seen so often in these Gassers.
  12. Thanks, Christian! Au Chat Botte and Tony Shop are something, where I need to visit. AJC is bit far away, but I might visit there also. Great thanks for that info.
  13. Cool builds. My absolute favorite is that LabRat Gasser. Great stance on it and style is just perfect. What kit did you use to build that Panel Wagon? Great builds, keep them coming.
  14. Some better outdoor pictures...
  15. It sure looks good! Great stance and very interesting build. I have been looking for these Truck modeling sections, but I don't understand much from these. I found one problem from this build, though. In my opinion, rear wheels and tires are sitting too back, I'd move them bit forward for better look. But it's not bad like that anyway, thanks for sharing this build, I'll keep watching.
  16. We are going to Paris at week 8. And of course, needs to find model shop. If you know any of them, please let me know. It's quite difficult to search while everything is written in French language, and I don't understand single word of it.
  17. Thanks, Bart. I don't know the differences between "normal" version, and that Tin Box version. This is just "normal-version", but I would think, there are no differences in the parts, maybe it's just that box. But I might be wrong also.
  18. Oh, those are really nice builds. All of them. I was just wondering, what are those '57 Bel Air, and another roadster on the same picture, Super Gas racers? Nice detailing, in every build. And of course, welcome to the forum!

    1967 Impala SS

This is great, and it's just like mine will be. Because I've been planning about blue color, and Rallye Wheels... Great job with it, paint looks very realistic, and great job with BMF too. This is very nie build, thanks for sharing.
  20. Here is styrene on its correct shape: ...And thanks for looking in.
  21. When that '64 Corvette is finished, I thought, I would share another build with you guys. Hope you enjoy as much as I will while building this. So I got Monogram '59 Caddy as christmas present, and it'll be Factory Stock. Body will be red with red and white interior. I will leave that soft top optional. I started from the engine, glued that engine block together, and used Tamiya liquid glue to smooth that engine seam off. I There was little fit issue on the frontend of that block, so I glued piece of styrene to fix that, and then cut it to correct shape. Some more liquid glue was added after that last picture was taken. Some progress pictures. Engine block together. Fit issue... Some styrene to fix it...
  22. Ok, here's the first set of WIP pictures. Slingshot Dragster is on the bench first, I startede building from the engine. No need for bondo, I used Tamiya liquid cement to smooth that engine block seam, and then orange paint. After paint was dry, I assembled oil pan and cylinder heads. I also added some putty to that front mount of that engine (or what it is called). I continue tomorrow, so stay tuned.
  23. Thanks, great pictures. I'm going with Injectors on this one, maybe some day I'll build one with carburetors... Great pictures and info, thanks for them.
  24. This is something I need to get, but not sure what I would build from it. I think, Factory Stock version would be... I'm not sure about "cool", but something different, I think, there will be many street cars and Racers built from this kit...
  25. Thanks, Terry! Great pictures, those help very much! I found problem with Topolino Altered. There's missing that part F6, which is rear engine mount (or something like that). But after few moments of thinking, I thought, that I would scratchbuild it. Needs to find correct size bottle and then some aluminium, or silver sheet metal. I just need to build frame first, because I haven't that original part, so I must have almost completed frame for test fitting while scratchbuilding that part. So I'll start from the frame with that build. I might do this as WIP thread too, because this kit has so much unusual parts and they are molded bit different. So then I can ask help when I'm in trouble, and of course your comments will give inspiration to keep on building, I think.
