Looks good! This is truly Old School style Dragster. Those wheels and tires look very good, and paintjob is great. I like the detailing on that engine. Thanks for sharing, I hope mine would turn out this good.

This is incredible build, as always. That paint on the body looks very realistic, and detail all over is spectacular. Very nice interior too, and now when you raised that muffler, it looks even better. Thanks for sharing this build with us.

68 Camaro El General Pro Mod (updates 05/06/12)
W-409 replied to tyrone's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
But these Turbos were great. They are from Martin Lunqvist's Turbo Pro Mod Camaro. Picture is taken in Alastaro, Finland and Martin is from Sweden. This Pro Mod did run 6,1 at Tierp Arena, Sweden and it had 403 km/h speed at finishing line. My picture... -
Fiat Topolino '60s Altered & Finished Slingshot Dragster
W-409 replied to W-409's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Little update for the engine. I drilled holes for those spark plug wires to the distributor, and also on cylinder heads. Also I have glued those wires already to distributor. Maybe tomorrow, or then on Wednesday I will be finishing those plug wires. Thanks for looking. -
1965 Dodge A100 Overhaulin' Style

Is that Ambroid Proweld liqui cement rare or something? I haven't seen it here in Finland, maybe I should order it from the States... Where do they sell that stuff? Great bodywork! -
Fiat Topolino '60s Altered & Finished Slingshot Dragster
W-409 replied to W-409's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
I was able to build this Dragster too. I sanded intake manifold smooth and painted it again. Then just glued it on place. Headers are also installed. Before that I had to drill holes for them. Little black and silver touchups and here's how the engine looks right now... -
Thanks Michael! Little update for the Nova project. I glued that engine to the frame, even if it's not complete yet. Needs to wait untill those gloss black belt pullies dry, then I can paint that belt flat black. Anyway I installed carburetor linkage, but there's still one more part missing. I'll glue that when I'm doing the Final assembly. Also I glued that battery cable to starter. I had some problems with propeller shaft, but I drilled that hole on rear axle bit bigger to make propeller shaft fit. Little interior work too. Door panels are ready to be mounted. I painted that white part, which is in some of those Nova SS door panels. Actually no masking tape was used, and that can be seen from the result... Silver details, no BMF this time even if that was a plan. Now when I can get dashboard finished (few decals, and steering wheel and steering column are missing) I can install whole interior together. One More.

'41 Willys Pickup Gasser circa late '60s - Finished
W-409 replied to gasser59's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Looking really good so far. Front axle work is incredible. Great to see '41 Willys Pickups too, and with your building talents this is going to be really great. Can't wait to see more. -
Thanks, Andy! That helped very much actually- I know, that's somekind of "saastelaite" in Finnish. Now when I watch the rule book, it says, they can be removed. So I have painted wrong belt and pulleys. That's one of the most stupid things in model building, I think. Well, building continues, very big thank you, Andy !

Little more done, but I found myself from a trouble... Does anyone know, what rules say about that Smog pump? I mean, that can it be removed. I'm asking just because I don't know, what that part really is in Finnish and translator gives stupid suggestions. Other problem is, that it's missing from my kit (or I have lost it somewhere). It's that part number 68.

International Lonestar, have you ever seen one?
W-409 replied to kenb's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I saw many of them last winter when I was in Florida. Few on the roads and quite many of them at Daytona Speedway. I have some pictures too (I think). Maybe I should post them here. It is very nice Truck... -
68 MOPAR Transporter / Dodge CNT 900
W-409 replied to Mopar - D's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
This truck looks good. American Trucks are much cooler, than these here in Europe and especially these Older Trucks are great. You did very good job with that truck- paintjob is great and that Trailer looks good too. -
K-Mart has lost another customer.
W-409 replied to Austin T's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've had that same problem too-but now when I know that, I've taken my dad with me. There's one good thing: He pays and I paint. But I must say, that I like painting with airbrush more than spray cans. Those Revell/Humbroll Enamel colors are just bit harder to find. -
Burnout Rubber Compound on quarter panels?
W-409 replied to Ry4ns302's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I stick that rubber when I have wet clear coat on the body. Or if I'm not going to clear that body, then I stick it on its place when I have just painted some wet paint. Those decals are nice, but I think, rear rubber looks more realistic. -
Of course you can make that Jo-Han Cuda factory stock, but you have to change the chassis and hood. Of course some smaller parts too, but those are problem. I would like to build that Cuda as Pro Stocker. Oh- I'm building one Pro Stocker from that kit already!
-
Thanks Ryan. Here's little update to the engine. Looks like I got something done. I built the crankcase ventilation tube. It has two parts. I had to drill hole for the valve cover, and then there's little piece of rubber pipe, and then I installed piece of Scale Dreams battery cable inside it. Then I just installed the other end on carburetor. Also I painted the alternator and started building that carburetor linkage. It's still under construction anyway... More updates tomorrow, I guess.
-
No pictures to show yet, but I have started the work with those door panels. Hopefully tomorrow, after some silver paint I can install them and post few pictures for you. Also little work with the engine, but nothing is assembled yet, some parts painted anyway. Let's see if I can get something done for the engine today-or tomorrow.
-
Little update- I worked with thoe valve covers today. I put some BMF on the Cadillac texts and those other two chrome parts are BMF too. It wasn't easy job to do, and end result is not perfect. Anyway I'm pretty happy about them, because those letters are very small. Needs to make little cleanup and then I'll paint some clear over the engine.
-
WOW-turned out very nice! That color is great and paintjob looks shiny. It's smooth too. Great job with the engine detailing, looking very realistic. Those front tires- are they bit badly glued on their place, or what? Looks like they are not 100% correctly. Otherwise really great build.
-
Basically what you need is metal wire. (Like what we use on Mig-welding) Then some plastic pipe, so you can put that metal wire inside the pipe. Then just needs to do those bendings. Actually sounds easy, and it is pretty easy too. This was my first try with Corvette, and that wasn't easy, because it was first time and I didn't completely know, how to do it correctly. And look for On the workbench section- and http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=51065&st=0 that topic might help you too.

Burnout Rubber Compound on quarter panels?
W-409 replied to Ry4ns302's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I've burned rubber with Dremel. So install spare tire on Dremel and with low speed do "burnout". I've done it on the top of one metal box, needs to say that if I raise the rpm on Dremel, tire starts smoking and then there's lots of rubber compound everywhere. So low speed is better idea. -
Great job with it so far. Those rear tires look pretty good to me. Nice color on the frame-are you going to paint the body with that color too? Nice work all over. I've been thinking, what is good body for Pro Sportsman chassis... Rambler American would be cool...
-
Great looking Shelby, little lowering made it look mean. I like that paintjob too, and engine details are pretty nice. It looks good with those wheels too. I'm not sure, if they are original or not, but they look like original styled...
-
That's great tip--thanks! Must try it when I need to open those rear fenders. And for the question about chrome trim-I would say with them. Without looks like too much 80's to me.

MPC 1/12 1930 Bentley Racing Car
W-409 replied to John Teresi's topic in WIP: Other Racing: Road Racing, Land Speed Racers
There's no way that someone would be tired at looking this- it's simply amazing build, and it's of course nice to see finished product, but somehow I'm going to miss this WIP thread and all of these great updates.. Maybe I must bookmark this thread... Thanks for sharing these amazing builds, can't wait to see what you're building next.
