It's still not too late to paint some detail to those hubcaps. Center logos need some paint, and valves too. Gives much realistic look. But very nice build overall, especially that paintjob is really great.

Fiat Topolino '60s Altered & Finished Slingshot Dragster
W-409 replied to W-409's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Little update for the engine. Those blower parts were on MR Muscle to remove chrome plating. After that I removed few mold seams and painted them silver. I assembled everything together, only those "tubes" are missing. (First picture, parts number 23) Those parts didn't fit at all, so I'm going to make new ones from solder. -
I painted all of the bolts from the engine, and installed carburetors. Still some painting to do, before I can install fuel lines and some other details too...

It's looking really good so far. Like that paintjob very much, and that Black Magic text turned out pretty good! Wheels and tires fit together very nicely, and engine detailing is truly amazing. Keep it coming, this is very interesting build.

Very nice job with it. Can't believe, that Austin Seven can be turned into Really nice Hot Rod. But this proves, that it's possible. Great paintjob, wheel and tire choice is perfect. Engine detailing is incredible too. I'd like to see a picture of the older version too, like two Austin Seven Hot Rods side by side... Is it possible?

NNL West V-12 Dry Lakes Style Modified - Completed 02-02

Another very interesting build, Bernard! I like seeing these Old School Hot Rods. Somehow those Salt Lake racers have been always very interesting. Can't wait to see how this turns out. -
started Tony Schmacher's record setting top fuel

Great start, you don't see too many TF Dragsters built. Great to see this one. Can't wait to see more work. -
Ok I painted the Camaro engine block gloss red. Next needs to paint some other parts, and look if TunnerRam manifold fits with this engine. I did some bodywork too, and hopefully I can primer this thing soon. Looks like the engine needs another coat of paint, though.

Patrik, very interesting project going on. Can we see this one as project in some Model Car show? It would be very cool to see live, very interesting and nice project. Little update for the Chrysler. I have installed some engine parts. I had to paint some black details for the valve covers. Used masking tape this time, I don't like painting another coat of gold, just because I would have been to lazy to use masking tape.

Great job so far! I can believe, those decals were quite tricky to install. Very nice paintjob on that body, will look very good when finished. Now needs to make some progress for my builds too...

"65" chevy stepside pickup
W-409 replied to stulee11's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Interesting build, haven't seen much of these built. I have one kit, but I'm not far with it. It'll be Custom too, and I have started engine building, there were no problems with that, if I remember correctly. That needs to be slammed down too. Interesting color choice, but that combo might look very cool on finished build. Paintjob looks like shiny. Can't wait to see more. -
1/16th Dukes Charger * 3/28/15* Update, **DAISY DUKE AUTOGRAPH**

Really great job with the Charger. Paintjob looks very good to me, and all of that engine detailing, you've done is incredible. Interior looks good too. Can't wait to see more. -
Thanks, Andy! I've painted the firewall and some other parts too, like inner fenders on the front and fan shroud etc. Some of those parts are semi gloss black originally, but I wanted to go with gloss black. It just looks much better. No pictures yet anyway, I need to get something more done for this. Hopefully tomorrow the paint is dry and I can start putting things together...

Really great job with the Fiat! I've been waiting for an update, since this is one of the most interesting builds on this forum. Great detailing all over, it just looks so realistic.

Oh- forgot to ask. Where are those rear tires and wheels from? Actually they look pretty good.
-
Thanks, guys! Online is the only way for buying this stuff, since here in Finland we have quite a few hobby shops, and they don't sell Slot Racing equipment, I think. Maybe those Vintage Parts are not good for me, New parts are easier to get and if something gets broken, also it is possible to buy new part easily. That Parma site looks very good, thanks for the link. Other ones are very good looking also. Does anyone know, does that Parma sell those parts to Finland? Or do I need to send e-mail and ask? I was thinking, these are bit too large questions, but huge thanks for your answers. That Parma Chassis would be very cool. Maybe I'll be buying it. That description says, wheelbase and ride height can be modified. That's great too. That SlotBlog forum looks very good-registered. And Steve: Those AMT Slot car kits look very good. Bad thing is, that they are quite expensive. But let's see.... Mostly Drag Racing is my idea, but of course that normal Slot racing too would be cool. Don't know yet.

I've started my '57 Chrysler 300C for this CBP. Engine is painted gold, and transmission is silver. This will be fully rebuilt car, so color choices are bit different than original ones were.
-
Well, it's bit old thread, but what kind of kit is that? Good or bad quality? And is is possible to turn into Facotry Stock?
-
These are getting very interesting, and maybe I should try building one.... Few questions: 1. What kind of frame these cars have? Brass? Do you, guys scratchbuild it or do they have somekind of ready sets for different bodies? 2. How about the engines? Where do you buy them and how big they are? 3. Bodies... They are lighter than normal plastic mode kit bodies? Where they can be bought? I've been thinking, that if I build one Slot car, I'll use some body from model kit first, and then while learning more, buying lighter bodies... 4. Tires... Where to get them? Are those front tires different than those, what come with model kits? 5. Other equipment? What do I need to build fast and working Slot Car? Thanks, Niko

Very cool Cuda! These Slot cars are getting more and more interesting all the time. Maybe I should try building one.

Detailed Lonestar WIP
W-409 replied to XJRV8's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Very cool build. Great to see more Lonestars. Very nice Truck, even if it's still missing from my stash. Great interior. It looks like 1:1. Chassis work is incredible too. Thanks for sharing this one, and can't wait to see more updates. -
Very nice tutorial, thanks! I've been thinking about building cowl hood, and this proves, it can be done. Needs to build at least one cowl hood for Fox Mustang...
-
Well that looks like great build. Nova Drag Cars are always very interesting, great to see one more. Nice job with that hood- those scoops make this look very mean. Nice wheels and tires also. I'll be following this one.
