  1. Needs to say-that Simca is really great basis for different kind of projects. Here in Finland, I'm building Simca Vedette Gasser and of course there's Pro Street Vedette on the bench too. (not on my bench anyway)
  2. I feel like dumb now. I've been looking for the rules for Stock Eliminator and Super Stock categories. But I didn't realize, that Jo-Han kit has Tunnel Ram Intake and Dominator (?) carburetors and that hood scoop! I've been building the F/Stock Nova with NHRA rules, but I still didn't figure out, that those are of course illegal. Thanks for the replies. Hello! Great to see you again, and great information, thanks! I think, I'll be doing Vintage Pro Stocker, because I love that TunnelRam intake on it, and hood scoop is cool too. I will buy new kit some day and turn it to Super Stocker. Thanks again for the advice. And BTW, Did you get my answer for the conversation at Scale Auto forum?
  3. I'm not sure about this yet. I mean, I don't know, am I buying one or two of these. One needs to be built factory stock, as the Hudson and other would be really cool NASCAR racer, because these were quite popular on those days.
  4. Maybe the best Chevrolet Big Block, I've seen can be found from Monogram's '70 Chevelle. It's not so superdetailed, as newer Revell's are, but it can be built really nice. And it's big, some of those engines in model kits are way too small, they look like law mover's engine when they are installed. That Monogram's engine is good, and it has blower too, which can be installed for some other car, if not on this. Same block can be found from Revell or Monogram '66 Malibu Flipnose kit, with Tunnelram intake, and there was one more kit, but I can't remember it. Those are maybe the best StreetRace style Chevy Big Blocks, I've found, of course AMT '67 Impala for example has bit better quality one, but I can still see those Monogram engines as a better choice. And Centerlines can be found from many kits, but I've seen good ones in Revell '57 Nomad. They are really nice, chromed, but of course they can be painted too. And that Monogram '70 Chevelle, where is that good engine, has really nice Centerlines too. Nice project you got going, that stance is just perfect, and somehow I like the look with those steelies, but maybe those tires don't fit so nicely. Those are like 50's and 60's Drag tires... But anyway, great looking build, that cowl induction scoop just fits nicely on the hood.
  5. Some more putty and sanding for the hood. Tomorrow I will primer it again, hopefully I can paint it after that, but not sure about that yet. Otherwise than that hood, this car is pretty much done, license plate on the front needs to be changed, but nothing special.
  6. AirTrax has '73 Volvo P1800ES, here is completed list of their products. Posted in 2009, so there might be some new ones, but anyway here are some of them. "'62 Ford Anglia, 80Euros, curbside '65 Ford Cortina, 90 Euros, w. separate hood, conversion parts for Tamiya Lotus7 engine '61-'64Ford Taunus 17m, 90Euros '63 Volvo P1800, 90Euros, separate hood, engine castings '73 Volvo P1800ES, 90Euros (Newest) '61-'64 Saab 96 Sport '69 Saab V4 90Euros+complete detailing set in resin50Euros '79 Saab V4, as above '59-'66 Triumph Herald, 70Euros, curbside, 2 separate tops (saloon&coupe), and a possibility to build a convertible. This is an early product, so accurate, yes, but expect a bit lower surface and detail quality... also, still possibly available '61 VW Typ 3, 40Euros, early(our first) mold, needs a Japanese Beetle kit. You'll get one if you insist! Ferrari PF Coupe, 105 Euros, with photo etched details Ferrari PF Convertible, 105 Euros, with photo etched details Triumph TR4, 75 Euros, with photo etched details, needs a Gunze or possibly Minicraft TR3 kit for donor. We do not supply parts plated or windows in the kits."
  7. Here in Finland, car has to be built only from those parts what are in the box. But making plug wires from parts trees, is allowed, so I think, carb. linkages are allowed too, here in Finland. Don't know, how it is in the U.S.A. anyway.
  8. This is looking really wild! Cool. Now when that bodywork is not 100% smooth, it would be great if it would be same styled as Fast Freddy's Chevy Pickup. Matt black and painted rust and some other damages too. But it doesn't look bad now either, great job with it.
  9. Thanks, guys!!! Thanks for the help, I will paint that engine orange then, and oil pan, water pump and heads too. How About the intake manifold, that's the only part, I don't know yet? And I'm not building exactly that Sox&Martin Car, just Vintage Super Stocker just like it could race on these days too, but still looking like Vintage SuperStocker.
  10. This is great build, and I'm glad to see, you're getting back to it. '70 Cuda looks much better than '71, I think. Can't wait to see more of this build, hope you're going to make some progress with it now.
  11. Thanks, Brandon. So then I can paint the block, as I had planned, and needs to look for that oil pan, what does the kit have and is it good or not. Thanks. Information about those other parts would be very appreciated too.
  12. Getting back to my NASCAR projects, Jeff Gordon's Automotive Finishes Monte Carlo, and '72 Torino Oval Racer...

  13. Sorry, I'm asking engine colors again, but does anyone know, what is correct engine color for Super Stock Hemi back in the day? I have Jo-Han's '71 Sox & Martin Cuda which will be Nostalgic Super Stocker, and I'd like to hear about the colors of: -Engine block -Transmission -Cylinder Heads -Oil Pan (was it original type, or aluminuim etc.) -Intake Manifold -Water pump And of course, if you know some other colors, which were "special", I'd like to hear them too. Thanks.
  14. Thanks for the reply. I've been thinking about that color too, but can't be sure about it.
  15. Here comes: -V8 Magazine -Primer -Fuel Magazine -Gasoline And then some Magazines, what are usually bought from the shop. -Gasser Magazine -Car Craft -Rod&Custom -Popular Hot Rodding -Hot Rod -Mobilisti -Power Magazine -Rebel Rodz -Scale Auto And some others too, but can't remember them all. And soon I will order Model Cars Magazine, I haven't it yet, because it can't be bought from Finland, as Scale Auto. But I will order it soon.
  16. This is coming along nicely! Interesting build, Vega FC is great subject. Nice job with the modifications, you've done. Can't wait to see more, this is going to be another breathtaking Vega Build.
  17. So title says it all, what's the correct engine color for 1970 429 Cobra Jet? I'm building '70 Ford Torino for E/Stock category, and I need to know engine color. Any help would be really appreciated. -Niko
  18. Juha Airio and Tapani Rauramo cast these, and I've heard, that they are good quality. I have one (damaged body, it was cheap) and that's pretty good too. And these look very good when they are built. http://public.fotki.com/unturalli/volvo-p-1800/ Here's one... http://public.fotki.com/antikainen/resin-ford-anglia-1/ Here's another. (And these are not my pictures) These pictures show, that it's possible to build nice model from AirTrax kits.
  19. Thanks, Randy! Not so much extrawork on this one, but you are right, it paid off. Thanks, Glenn! Yeah, there were some fit issues, and I was just wondering, how anyone can build this kit without glue? Box top says that No Glue or paint needed... I can't understand, how is that possible. Thanks, Danno! That year model is the best, I've heard, because it feels like nobody knows, what this is really. '49½ sounds good.
  20. Well this is cool! This is looking very good. I like that matt black color, it fits nicely to this style, and those stripes are great too. Engine detailing is great, those plug wires run as in 1:1 car, and headers are very realistic. I like that shifter too, and wheel & tire combo is perfect. Thanks for sharing, this is really nice build.
  21. Another Old School Style Hot Rod! Great to see that someone builds these Traditional Hot Rods and Customs too, great looking start. That chopped top is just perfect, and hood fits nicely to the look. Thanks for sharing, I will be watching this one!
  22. Red smoke... Look at this Finnish Limousine. It has Chevy BBC, I believe.
  23. Well this is looking amazing. Can't wait to see more. Engine detailing is great, and chassis work is really great so far. I'm sure, this will be very nice Mustang when finished. I'll be watching.
  24. My latest completed build for 2011. Maybe two more coming, if everything goes as I've planned. This is MPC kit, which was '50 Mercury when it was released, but round 2 release was from '49 Mercury! So this can be 1950 year model. I got this for free from Model Car Contest, and I started building from the interior. I used Humbroll brown colors, and some satin clear coat. I painted the dashboard like wood, and steering wheel too. Nothing special on the detailing there. On the chassis I changed the tires, because those original ones were hard plastic. I fitted those kit wheels and wheel backs on those new tires. Chassis plate was painted as many colors as usual, even if it was molded very simple. I also built new axles from brass (those what go inside rear axle cover, you know.). Body needed bit bondo, but after that I primered it and painted with Maston gloss black. Then decals... They were pretty hard to instal correctly. After clearcoat, I had to paint some white over the decals, because there were some cracks and so on. But then some waxing and BMF. There were some problems with the final assembly with the headlights, and antenna, but not so big things anyway. Here it is, the final result: PLEASE, let me Know, what you think!
  25. Doh, after Harry said, it's Monteverdi, I remembered the make. I didn't remember, what was the name of that make, so it brought no results for the model, from google. I've seen some Monteverdis, and they are pretty nice cars... ...Well, some of them.
