That's true. It's better to try modifications on paper, than on model kit or 1:1 car. And it's pretty fun too if you can get the car shapes nicely on the paper.

I've been really busy now, but this weekend I might have time for that '32 Ford, maybe Mercury too. I will post pics from the starting point of that Hot Rod today, stay tuned.

The Hornet's Nest: Hudson Hornet Build Madness!
W-409 replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in Community Builds
Thanks for the information! I think, we don't have Testors paints here in Finland, so maybe I'm going to use an other one. I think, the right sheen is not so important, because bit wrong sheen looks good in finished model anyway, and it's still looking pretty factory stock, I think. -
WOW, looks like it's going to be full detail! Great looking engine, can't wait to see all of those wires and hoses etc. on their final places. Great build all in all, keep going.

1/16 Scale Army Vega Funny Car - Finished 10/14/2018
W-409 replied to Mooneyzs's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
My Vega is fine, and I should continue it soon. I've been bit hurry now and had no time for building because of the school. But now it's four day weekend ahead, so maybe I can get something done for Vega too. -
Ok, thanks for the info, Silken. Now I know, what to do, don't want any problems when everything is painted...
-
Thanks, Billy! I'm pretty happy about the Mustang too, but I can't be happy about the coloring. Marker pens didn't work as I wanted. Now I might draw something again. This week we had exam every day of the week, so I had no time for drawing.

Sounds good, Patrik. Can't wait to see some pictures. Same thing with Mark's progress. Sounds interesting, please keep us posted!

The Hornet's Nest: Hudson Hornet Build Madness!
W-409 replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in Community Builds
I'm in! I got one Hornet for birthday present, I'll build it as Factory Stock before building Gasser, Nascar and Custom versions... Here are some pictures, what's in the box. Maybe they are not interesting, because so many does already have this kit, and we've seen pics from the parts, but anyway, posted these on Finnish forum, because there were no pictures. Now I post a link. http://public.fotki.com/NostalgicDrag/53-hudson-hornet/ I'll get started tomorrow, but while waiting, please tell me, what was the correct engine color? -
1963 Galaxie Super Stock newbies first finished post, ! be gentle
W-409 replied to Biffo's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Very nice and clean build. That paintjob looks great, and I like that engine detailing too. Great to see older Stockers or Super Stockers being built. They are one of my favorites. But the best was Junior Stock. -
1/16 Scale Army Vega Funny Car - Finished 10/14/2018

This sure looks good! This needs to be the best Army Vega, I've seen. It looks as realistic as the 1:1 version, I think. Great job with it, those front spindles just look right. Really great job, I really enjoy about following this build. -
This turned out Fantastic!!! Details are so incredible and that paintjob is truly amazing. Really great stance and I really like those wheels and tires too. It's absolutely the best '69 Camaro Street Car, I've ever seen. I can say that, even if I can't remember all of them. It's just so amazing, could it be any better?

Great Hudson. I haven't seen Lowrider Hornet before in this scale. I got also one as a birthday present today. Really great kit, was there any problems with the build, fit issues, etc.? Color is very cool and paintjob looks good too. Thanks for sharing.
-
Thanks, Virgil, Shane, Glenn, Erik and Chuck. This kit is really simple, but with some more work and fixing some little problems it can be built to look good. Flat black look fits fine to it. And it truly looks like '64 Fairlane a bit.

I won Arii's 1964 Prince Gloria model kit from Model car contest. It's 1/32 scale, and that kit doesn't have engine. I decided to build it as Mild Custom style with matt black body and gloss red steelie wheels. Just a fast build between more serious projects, it took about week to complete, but because I had no enough inspiration, this build was off the bench for few weeks. But now it's complete. I lowered the chassis and painted interior as two tone with red and white. I painted the body flat black, and chrome trim is painted with a brush. I used masking tape on the other side, but other side went without it. Grille and bumbers were painted by Humbroll's Polished Aluminium and grille was black washed with Detailer... Exhaust pipe was shortened and I drilled hole there too. Here are the pictures, please let me know, what you think.

After seeing your FrontEngineDragster, I can't wait to see more. Your building talents are amazing. The start looks very good, tires and wheels are really nice. Keep it going.
-
That looks pretty good, Andy! I was first thinking that index... 5.04 sounds pretty fast, untill I realized that it's for 1/8 mile... Didn't remember, you race very much on 1/8 mile too, we don't use that nowhere, except few Races on airport.

I haven't seen much '79 Camaros being built Drag Cars. Great to see one. And that frame construction looks very good, really great scratchbuilding. Can't wait to see more, very interesting subject.
-
This is very interesting. I'm glad to see you back on the bench, great job with that frame and engine so far. Detailing looks very good to me. Can't wait to see more, thanks for sharing.

Yeah, that Nova was very amazing, and this one is really amazing too! Great to see '69 Chevelle, and especially when it's Something else. I like the paintjob, really great shine. Wheels and tires are very beautiful too. Great job with it, can't wait to see those outside pictures.
-
Oh, now I remember that Honda, it's amazing too.
-
Great job with it. Personally I don't like pink cars, but if it's build for your little girl, that color is just perfect. Great job with it, I can see only one bad thing: When you cut chrome part off from the tree, there leaves little spot without chrome plating. Maybe try to paint or foil that away next time? But anyway, really nice and clean build. Nice detailing.

This is going to be interesting. Great to see '68 Impala on the bench. It's really sad, that there's no Round2 release, or any other re-release of this '68 Impala. It's much nicer than '67 Impala, which looks very good too. I'd like to have one, but looks like one Promo model on ebay costs "only" $163.00... That's right now 120 euros, but it's pretty expensive anyway. Hope Revell or any other factory makes kit from that car. I've seen newer kit from '58 to '67 Impalas, but not 1968.

All I can say is Wow! Great job with that mesh. This is going to be really amazing project as always. I'll be watching. Your scratchbuilding skills are awesome, very impressive.
