How could I detail a battery?
W-409 replied to Mr. Moparman's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Well, I have used Detail Master's Battery Hardware set, that's great. I usually build the bracket from scratch, or then I use one from that hardware set. There's only one type of bracket on the set, so sometimes it needs to be scratchbuilt. Then of course painting the details, and photo etch cable clamps. It works fine, here is a picture of '70 Super Bee's battery which is detailed with that hardware set, and some scratchbuilt parts. -
Those tires... Where are they from? Really relistic looking, and haven't seen Hoosier tires very often. Nice project, this Mustang is going to be real nice, as always.

63 chevy 2 nova outlaw prostreet updates 10/31/14

There's nothing wrong with that paint, very nice! Smooth and pretty shiny, looks good. Maybe bit of polishing, or waxing would make it look even better? Nice job with those little details too, this project is going to be amazing when finished. -
Yes, they are from the kit. The boxart shows only the "Lightning Express" decals, but those are included.

Because it's so ugly?

Cool, this is absolutely the only way to make Toytoa Supra interesting.

Thanks! I tried that battery cable-thing, how to make it look more realistic. It turned out Ok, but I can't post picture from it now, because my camera got broken... I can still post older pictures, but can't take new ones anymore. Needs to get a new one and then I'll post picture to you from it. Thanks.

This is really nice too! Figures are bit large, but otherwise they are pretty good, I think. One thing really caught my eye. Those cylinder heads aren't looking very realistic, when valve covers are off. I'd make some detailing there, but otherwise really nice build, I like it. Here is a picture what I did to my AMT Cylinder heads, not perfect, far away from that, but anyway. Original cylinder head, VS detailed one.

This is really nice and clean build. Nice to see something other too, than Bel Air. Colors are nice, and paintjob looks good. I also like those wheels and tires, they look pretty realistic. Also engine is nicely done. Can't find any mistakes, other than that front fender, that you already mentioned. Cool build.

Really nice work again, Mark! That looks good. I like how you modified the side trim to match the real car. Nice job with it. Looking forward to see more work with it. Great start. Where you find these decals, I'd like to build some Nascar racer also, but I'd like to have decals for that too.

Hood is primered from the both sides now. It's bad that hood is not detailed from the "wrong side", so I didn't take time to modify it realistic, because this might be the last time, you can see it from that side. I'll paint it maybe next week, same time I must paint the Hemi Dart Super Stock. Hope the weather is good, so I can paint it then.

One more picture.

I have painted that front clip of the body from both sides now. Also added decals. Some of them went nicely on their places, but some of them were really hard to install right. I had to shorten two of them and used lots of Micro Sol to make them look better. They aren't good now, but I must clear the body next week and then I can fix those decals with white paint.

One more picture, thanks for looking! Now here comes a little break for building, this weekend I'll be at Finnish Drag Racing event. Finnish Championchip Finals, hope there's no rain.

Nice job with this Big Ford! This is truly a sleeper. I like that engine, and detailing of it. Paintjob is also very nice. I like that scoop on the hood, and of course those wheels and tires are nice. Nice job with it, keep these models coming.

Trumpeter Ranchero build up

It looks good, nice kit! Needs to get one, that would look really good with steelies and wide tires. Your project looks good so far, keep pictures coming, I'll watch this one. -
This will be very nice model! I like watching your builds, they are spectacular. This one looks really good already, only thing what I should do different, is those wheels, but otherwise looking really good. Flipnose looks good on this Buick. Keep it up.

This one is going to be really nice as always, from your bench. It looks good so far, stance is just right and I like the color on it. Paintjob is nice too. Engine detailing looks super, keep it coming, I'll be watching it.

Wait a minute, I'll comment when I can get my jaw pieces from the floor..... ... Looks good! This was very nice build to watch, and now on these pictures, it looks like real, as your other builds too. The paintjob is amazing. Very shiny and smoooth. Nice job on the detailing also. I'm not going to complaine about those big wheels, because they are on the inspiration too. Nice job you did, as always, these are very nice to watch, keep coming. -
This one is easy. It's a Model! .... No, it must be real.... Or is it model... Well, I'm going with model on this one, hope it's correct. If not, better luck next time.

Thanks for the comments fellas! That battery cable clamps should be like that, and it might be possible to try bending them like that, going around the cable. I must try it. This was just my second time using them, so I'm still learning. I'll try that thing, and let you know, how it looks. But those are great quality anyway, I think... Thanks everyone!
