  1. thank you very much guys, I am happy with it and glad you are too!
  2. Thank you! I used a Jimmy Flintstone chopped body. It's such a nice chop that it was worth $10 vs my pain staking time.
  3. I hardly ever take pics outside because I end up dropping the model or wind picks up on me haha! I shot these outside, and I plan to reshoot all of my builds because it makes such a huge difference. I don't use anything but a lamp and a photo box at home, so pics of my builds don't always come out the way I want them to. Enjoy!
  4. Harry, them kits are definately for the pro builder. Not much out there can top them. If I knew of something they made that is in my genre , I would tackle one!
  5. Once I sat and drank two bottles of water and ate a 3lb bag of pistaccio's.....that was pretty much the hardest build I ever had. Ohhhh....you mean models? hehe I guess I have not considered any of them to be hard? Some take longer than others, some take a lot of patience. Probably the most detailed, most work I have into one is a '32 Roadster I have not finished yet. The car literally has every bit of detail that I can put into it and have added more realism every where I could by making parts and correcting some things. The valve covers, tranny cover and rear differential cover, alternator and some other things are actually bolted on with RB Motion bolts...just to give an idea. Working with tweezers is fun! There is a lot that can't be seen, someday I will finish it and take a million photos in better lighting. Above all....this was not hard, just takes time and patience.
  6. there is a resin SOHC made....can't remember for the life of me who made it. Altered States Resin? don't put a weak chevy 350 in it....the hemi is better choice of the two, but if you like and have a choice....the ford sohc is nice.
  7. Thank you for the history on this one! Thank you for your work in this hobby, it's guys like you who made kits available that still inspire me today!
  8. I own this kit, have a look and see what's included. I hope to see you build it! http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc...alt-shaker-37-/ Here is another more recent issue of the same car, you can compare parts. http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc...7-chevy-limite/
  9. that's awesome! did i see it before? can't remember, but glad to see it again anyways. nice paint job and I agree, it's neat looking!
  10. It's awesome Lyle, build another one!
  11. nice score! the Beetle is the best one there. Boothill...molded in red? rare color. if you can get ahold of Eric Slaughter, I bet he knows a bit about the colors. He collects them and has some rare color variations.
  12. Hopefully this will help you too. I have complete catalog and more in my fotki, new one thanks to Lyle Willits. http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc...casminiatureof/
  13. makes sense to me! thanks for taking the time to explain that. I don't print this stuff, so it's just resolution for the monitor more than anything. Last time I scanned at 1200 it took FOREVER and even opening up photoshop to crop and fix things it was so slow that I quit. I doubled my ram since then, so it's probably better....but I usually do between 200 and 400.
  14. It's ok you don't have them. Yes I stop by the Drastic Plastics site everyday about 50 times....I own it 200dpi ends up about 1581x2049 but fotki's largest resize is at 800x800 I believe. The larger the file the better. My scanner does 1200x1200dpi which ends up HUGE...I mean really really huge! The dots per inch is important , because the more there are....the better and more crisp the image comes out. I don't ask for 150dpi , because it's very generic looking and not as good. I can accept ANY format, since I have programs to open up and convert if I need to.
  15. Thank you Jon! I actually visit your fotki often when I need some art. I like the way you arranged it all, in fact I plan to use that idea when I get around to arranging what I have.
  16. anyone? what is there like 3,000 members and nobody has these kits? I guess they are buried, don't have a scanner or they are too "valuable" to touch? Oh well.....I will keep trying, can't build them without the info.
  17. First of all, I would like to add these to my web site that helps everyone out when they need instructions, box art or decals for reference. I will credit whoever submits scans. Secondly, I want to build the AMT '49 Ford like shown here, but I need scans of the box and instructions. I also need scans of the AMT '56 Ford Victoria box and instructions in which this side panel came from. I like to build models replicating old box art and it's tough to do when you have everything but the reference lol Please , if you can scan these for me I would appreciate it! I prefer scans to be at least 200dpi and you can send them to trakburner@yahoo.com Here is my site so you can see what the endless project is about www.thedpmcc.com/instructionsintro.html[/url">http://www.thedpmcc.com/instructionsintro.html"]www.thedpmcc.com/instructionsintro.html AMT '49 Ford this was built by a friend of mine Dave Charlton. I can't see the box that well. AMT '56 Ford Victoria I need the exact issue that has this car on the side. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE, THESE WOULD BE GREAT TO HAVE SO I CAN BUILD THEM. I hope these help, Ed Fluck pictures... They are the tops of the boxes I need scanned.
  18. looking real good Mr. Kron!
  19. Jason Hunt....scary stuff huh? When the two hit at 2:30am I heard one touch down when all the debris started riveting the foundation of my basement ( I used to be down there with computer). I immediately knew what was happening and as I ran upstairs the front glass door blew open. I opened the inside door to pull it shut and I really had to pull , but got it shut. I didn't think about it at the time...but something could have hit me. I got up the second set of stairs and was yelling at the top of my lungs for wife and kid because I didn't know where they were. Sometimes they sleep on couches if it's hot. I could hear and feel the house shaking and I yelled at them to get downstairs NOW! Got them down there and under the stairs (only place to go) and we sat there while the wind was so loud we could not hear anything else. It got quiet and I heard the other one touch down and really started to pray. The power went out....was on cell phone with my mom across town asking her what was going on.....it was CALM there and she couldn't understand why I was yelling and asking her to tell me what tv said. Scary is not the word.....
  20. My wife's car has cap on passenger side and when she got it, I got driven nuts with it too. I kept having to get back in the car and move it or tell her to turn around so I could put gas in....I don't know when, but I thought it was always on the driver side.....don't know when they put them on passenger side. When I got my truck....talk about things not where you expect them to be! My wife was driving and she pushed the brake instead of the clutch to switch gears....any idea what it's like to hit the brakes at 55 without knowing it's gonna happen? lol
  21. Jason Hunt, that's a familiar photo. I mean, I have seen that and worse here. The poles snapped like that must have been and EF3? I used to be excited about crazy weather, but the older I get and my daughter being 9 years old...all that we have done up until now...it downright scares me. I don't want this stuff to happen, it's not fun like when I was a kid. Here is a link to show and read of what happened last year here. The photos don't cover it all and I ama surprised that some of the worst stuff is not there. Carquest auto parts store was completely blown apart, trees that were 50 feet tall twisted to shreds and the only humor I could find in it was a fairly new car wash had it's roof completely lifted and carried about two blocks and dropped on the edge of a busy street. The car wash was rebuilt and renamed "TORNADO WASH"..... This was about the two tornadoes that dropped about 2:30 am. I just got back from Minnesota "nnl north" and was trying to catch up on email when they hit .....right in my neighborhood. The other bad one we had was a straightline wind storm which was about 113 mph wind that swept across Omaha literally destorying whatever was weak in it's path. The scary thing about that storm was I was with my wife and kid in the car, I tried to beat the storm as it was moving 55mph with those winds...traffic lights hindered me and it caught up. Luckily I was able to get around without any bad stuff happening. You can read on that in a link here also. http://www.3si.org/forum/f182/omaha-wind-s...-6-27-a-424936/ http://www.lincolnweather.org/omaha-tornad...june8-2008.html
  22. Rick all of your cars must be FORDS? lol Kidding....my F150 got a couple dings last year from small marble size hail....barely see it. I can't believe them hail balls you got didn't mess your cars up real good! LUCKY!
  23. you Okie's have been getting some bad weather. We in Omeeha are waiting our turn. That's some huge hail man! Was your roof ruined and did you have any vehicles outside? There was a time when I prayed for hail like that so I could get rid of a car LOL
  24. real cool indeed, nice work Kenny!
