Chi'na is notorious for faking silver coins / troy ounces. Ive been a collector of silver since the late 80's as the companies I worked for you give it to you for a safety bonus for no lost time accidents. When I was working in NE Washington state there was a coin shop in Spokane and they had a five gallon bucket that was about 3/4 full of "fake troy ounces" they left that out as to detour the thieves that might break in thinking they would steal that instead of trying to get into the vaults. The coins/ bars would have a silver coating and junk metals on the inside. I have a friend here in Montana that has been buying the "Buffalo rounds" for about $10.00 less than spot. They are about 2mm bigger around and 1mm thicker. He says I'm a fool for buying at a reputable family owned coin shop as I'm paying more than he is, as his coins are bigger - even though they are identical to mine but the size difference. 🙄 Remember - real silver coins, troy ounces has a distinctive ring when dropped on a solid surface (like three inches above a table)

Tim that's awesome you went and had a Perfect breakfast. My wife and I went for a drive (320 miles RT) today and go check on our friends property and house while he is out of state working. The scenery was fabulous, nothing like clean snow every direction you looked. The interstate 90 was closed up ahead due to 70-90 mph winds. Gotta love Montana !

Kurt , you're doing a great job to convince people to move to AZ when already having swap meets and we look like this ! 😄

That truck is looking so awesome, you're really doing some top notch work. I also like that your not afraid to paint something a different color than what the perception should be. Ive painted a lot of 1/1 engines non factory colors and have caused a lot of melt downs over that !

A big disappointment - been looking for the Charles Carpenter '55 kit for some time , found one still sealed and the shipper wrapped the kit in paper. It didnt travel well.

Minus forty one this morning and my wife's car started! Seat felt like a oak plank when I got in.

Out of 25 plus years of buying model kits off ebay - I got one. A kit wrapped with paper only and mailed from New York to Montana. A sealed OOP desirable kit at that. Box was mushed and a bonus hole in it from the abuse the USPS is known to dish out. I haven't been brave enough to break the seal and check contents.

Ok so I'm confused here, " the vendor is dropping support for screen names" does that mean our screen name will be replaced by our email or we getting assigned a number like in prison ? Ive been a member for 15 some years and never had any issues with my account, not once did anyone try taking credit for my mediocre models. Perhaps the hacking issue is from being able to use facebook to log in - you know what they say the more cooks in the kitchen .....

I use a hobby saw that takes blades like the old gillette razors for making lines through putty. The fine blade is forgiving . Attached is a pic of the internet - my saw pics always have a project in the background and I don't want to derail your thread. Disclaimer - I use regular auto body putty on my models..

Local news for Billings Montana, a Postal worker employed at the package sorting facility was stealing sports cards. He boosted a collection then tried to sell it back to the store who had originally shipped it to another collector. Link provided for your reading enjoyment for this piece of excrement handling parcels. https://www.ktvq.com/news/crime-watch/ex-postal-worker-admits-to-stealing-mail-containing-sports-memorabilia-from-billings-facility -

Very nice Mike, too bad on the decals. I would look for some MicroScale Alphabet decals to finish it out. -
Got one of my most wanted in the mail today after a helpful forum member pointed me in the direction of it. Its in great shape assembly wise. Gust enough glue that parts have fallen off rather than fused forever. It is missing one radius rod for the front. If I cant source one I will scratch build a replacement. It will be cleaned up, rebuilt and hopefully I can find a set of decals also. On another note - I have figured out where all those resin wrinkle wall slicks Ive bought over the year originated from..
