Rick , a common trend on ebay lately is for some sucky sellers to print a shipping label for an item, then copy that shipping label and add a different address. They do this multiple times to get more money in their pocket. The USPS knows of this scam but are trying to figure out how to counter it. Ive had items show they were delivered in other states according to the tracking number then it shows up to my PO box.

@89AKurt - now that is a pretty impressive collection. I never did flight logs, honestly doing such a thing ever crossed my mind, sure wish I had though. I have a hard time picking my favorite - a four engine Saturn 1B is pretty impressive , but as much as I wasnt a fan of the Blue Flame as a kid , I really like that one and cant wait to see it done. ( He broke Craig Breedlove's, record, childhood hero and I have been scorned since haha) I would like to see a drawing of the triple rocket holder as that is one of the best displays Ive ever seen. Your photography of inflight is really something. Did you by chance attend NARAM 2018 held at Pueblo Colo? My wife and I loaded up a truck load of totes and went as vendors. It was a great time camped out on that sandy ranch. My truck still has dust and sand in it. Thank you for posting all those and the back storys

Tinting Windshields for Gassers.
Old Buckaroo replied to Horrorshow's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I have seen guys tint aircraft canopies with "future floor polish" (or whatever its called now) with a very light amount of food coloring mixed in. They would dip them and then wick away the extra with a paper towel so it didn't pool up at the bottom. If you got some tire burnt, cracked or extra windshields - I'd experiment with that. -
Nice Cuda - love the extra details like the paint marks and the red battery caps. What paint did you use for the steering wheel and pistol grip ? That is a perfect match to my eyes ..

Rare/unusual auto options.

Here is a pic of the factory upholstery in that Cuda , I kept it as is (to hang on the wall) for a conversation piece. -
What do you drive?

The rolling chassis looks awesome and I really like the gray engine along with the history that's been added. On the tires - I'm probably the only person that liked the old two piece kit ones. I use to buy junker kits and parts just for them. If I did use soft ones I stuffed them with pieces of tissue paper , paper towels or whatever I could find to fill them out.

Sam sorry to disappoint you - I have a Super Bee model that came with two sets of hubcaps and other vacuform and resin parts. The darn dogdish looking hubcaps have "chevy bowties" in the center. Not why they were in with this other than maybe a mix up by previous owner. Edit - The revell 1/24 1979 Plymouth Roadrunner kit has these hubcaps, they are about 7mm across and 1mm in depth

I'm pretty sure I have some, might even be resin. I cant access them till tomorrow, but I will take a look.

I Need To Find The Tutorial On Posting Pictures
Old Buckaroo replied to oldcarfan's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Thank you for this - at one time I knew how to do this but that was 10 years ago and I was using the dreaded photobucket as picture host. -
KW W900 Aerodyne
Old Buckaroo replied to Jürgen M.'s topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Very nice, and what a difference the reefer unit made on the trailer. I love those KW kits, so much room for improvement out of the box. The front wheels really make it stand out. I remember years ago scouring the stationary stores to find those nice nickel domed thumbtacks to make hub covers out of. -
Are you talking the Model Master Chrome Enamel ? Ive been in several hobby shops that still have the MM paints even though they were discontinued years ago. Ive also seen sellers on ebay selling off new old stock MM paints very reasonable. I still use MM enamel paints and keep my supply up. Let me check my reserves I may even have a jar or four or five. I never lived close enough to stores to buy only a few jars at a time. When you'd travel 200 miles RT - make it worth the trip.

Now that's what I'm talking about - thanks for showing those pictures, I'm way impressed Ive always like building my own also - when I was a teen those "Designer Specials" box'o'parts was the greatest things ever. I would do a string test, some flew great and some did a perfect arc for the ground. I'm considering getting another Saturn V now that they are E&F compatible.

That video is hilarious - as much as I despise ice and snow, I sure got a good laugh out of that situation.

Caboverdose
Old Buckaroo replied to Rockford's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
It makes me wonder what kind of optics he has - I sure cant see that little even with the help of cheater reading glasses and a optivisor. Truthfully I'm more impressed with the work you are doing here rather than dropping in a resin or 3D printed version. This one is all yours. Have you ever seen the old Diamond Reo Phil Jensen built that the cab is made mostly from wood ? Now that is something Id like to try building. -
Caboverdose
Old Buckaroo replied to Rockford's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Steve I love this engine , I'm such a fan of actual scratch built items. If you begin to question your sanity watch this video, especially around the 13:00 minute timestamp. Enjoy! -
Does anyone build or fly them? I grew up less than 50 miles from Estes Industries but I was a Centuri fan that was out of Phoenix Az. Their catalogs really grabbed and sparked my Imagination at a young age. I still build and fly them 50 some years later, most are scratch built to resemble the catalog models I never could afford at a young age.

Duel Peterbilt
Old Buckaroo replied to Bugatti Fan's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
I'm even more impressed that's how you figured you're dimensions. I'm guilty of the same old tech methods - although I stepped a bit into the future. For example I'm building a Grumpy toy Monza, I needed a template for the rear wheel wells. I found a pic online, saved it to my laptop and then made the picture the same size of the model body on the screen. Grabbed a piece of paper and lightly traced the outline to make a pattern. We actually have a vhs in our bedroom, I think the quality of movies are better, no pixilation and the sound isn't off like so many dvd's When I build my models - they are for my entertainment, they may not be prototypical , have sand scratches or paint flaws , but they are built for my own entertainment. Your Duel model would definitely be a front shelf item in my collection. -
Ive got spare windshields from the '66 Pro Street cars. I bought them for the chassis and other parts. If you want one its yours..
