I like this project and it really has a menacing look . Take care of your rebuilt injured parts, dont rush into anything you should not do.

I failed myself on the left side sleeper and did not seal my tape well. I will have to fix that or outline it . Gator - I am not sure if I will do the Aero conversion, but it would be easy enough to do.

Kinda / sorta - It is the same truck AMT boxed as the "Movin On" truck but the one in the show had a later cab with the latches along the bottom of the door instead of the handles up high. Great save you have going on here !

Hey Jt , looking real good. Does the Lonestar not come with the wheels and tires as in the BIg Rig wheel and tire set ? I can hear that lady at the Dually saying "Orange you glad to see me "

That is way nice and the Ford is top notch. I am so kicking myself for not getting one of these trailers.

I really can not decide what I like the best on this one - The idea or the AlClad engine (so cool) or the folding "tank type bridge/ ramp" This is such a great project !

Something quick and easy with no real direction other then a mid - late '70's owner operator truck. PS Clayton - I shortened the frame to be contraire

I like "parts box specials" . That is some frame length you got going there , a cut down Wilson stock trailer would look right at home there

When I build mirrors I take a spare cab (or you can use the one you have and make the mirrors first) I will use white glue and glue the upper and lower braces to the cab. The plastic cross braces and vertical brace will be glued with liquid cement or CA. Once the assembly is complete and dry I use a flat chisel type X-acto blade to remove from the cab. Scrape off any dried glue. I have a small compartment box to store them in until final assembly. For a tackier and quicker drying white glue "Micro Kristal Klear" is amazing. It is sold for attaching aircraft canopies and other clear parts. I glue my stuff such as mirrors right to the paint (Enamel) . I started using white glue do to my shaky hands. If I botched it I could clean up my mistake , something you cant do with liquid cement or CA. I have not used wood glue, just the white Elmers glue. Jeff - I glue painted parts with Tamiya Green cap liquid cement. I imagine the other types of liquid cement work the same. The seam will wick the cement in with no damage to the surrounding paint if use in moderation. I may cement the same are several times within a few seconds just so I dont overload the area at once.

Everyday Elmers white glue. Not only do I use it for mockups it is what I attach mirrors and hood badges, head lights ect ect with so as not to damage paint. Also when it comes time to move again , I can pop the mirrors off for safe packing.

That is one dirty truck, looks like the trucks here in Montana. Nicely done ! I bet those were some unforgettable trips you went on. Was there anywhere good to stop and eat along the way ?

Looking good Clayton , I like the air intakes. Why is all the "Cat Yellow " spray paint glossy ? I have never seen a shiny cat yellow product.

Wow - this is fantastic , will you be using a Detroit to power it ? I really like projects like this and I have seen a lot of 1/1 loggers that were rebuilt and rebuilt with everything when I lived in Washington State.

That is one really nice looking Western Star. I miss the days of real trucks with real paint jobs. You have definitely captured that bygone era.

Howdy Benny, I really dont know much about these Mack's - I do have the AMT hid away somewhere. I would imagine a "day panel conversion" would be welcomed for the Revell kit as it looks like the sleeper is molded to the cab. A 60" Able body sleeper would be really cool. There seems to be more guys over at Hanks that build 1/32 trucks and you might get more feedback .

Brian - thank you, I believe it was your White I saw over at Hanks that impressed me to where I wanted to build one myself. Dave - thank you , I am pretty pleased with it. I call this my learning curve. Clayton - I am glad you like it Sam - wow what a comment, honestly color combinations are my biggest obstacle that I deal with. Dave - Spalding Trading has them on ebay all the time. You better get one before the molds wear out. Trailer - we have no room for trailers here Terry - Your style of trucks and building have really influenced me, Thank you ! Michael - Thank you, I usually cheat on my tires and use a mini sand blaster, but is has been like negative 10 in my garage. So I had to result to Green Scotchbrite pads for this truck. I cut the pad in about 1" squares and dry scrub and scrub. I clean the green dust off with a stiff brush and scrub more if there is any shine. Vic - I am glad you stopped in and that you like it ! Angel - Thank you, I have a few more oddities planned to hit the bench. Gator - Thank you, I am not so intimidated to tackle some of my other resin projects.

Jeff - Thank you I use Model Master Enamel Military Brown with an airbrush for the base. Sometimes I will follow up very lightly using a drybrush of tan.

Jeff - I buy the 6mm & 10mm refill rolls size. I dont mess around with the dispenser thing, I keep the tape in the packaging it come in to keep it clean and prefer to cut it with scissors for a clean cut. I will go over the sealing edge with a blunt toothpick to make sure it is sealed for sharp lines. I will then mask on the Tamiya tape with everyday blue painters tape for large areas.

I am moving this to the finished shelf. The truck still needs cargo hatch T handles, Windshield wipers ( I checked every kit I have for a decent pair) and the pogo stick (which will be made of brass when I find my solder) This was my first full resin cab project and a learning curve for me. My guess it is one of those "customizing" nightmares of the 1970's . There must of been a shortage of vans. Now dont get all bent from my comment - there was some really cool stuff during the "customizing craze" but also some Not so Good.

That is a Super Fine looking combination. If it had an outside background I would really have to look to see if it was real or not. Thank you for sharing it !
