That looks great, the metallic green and the flames really make this stand out. I like to see these older kits built up. Ive ordered from Jim in Ohio and Fred from NY, they both were good to deal with.

The Same but a “little “ different….

Fabulous looking Hayes, I really like it when models are built to the vision of the holder and not the manufacturer. It makes me even happier this was sold with 'Coke" livery - those kits should be 1/2 price in my mind since they have a sponsor!! You've added a ton of detail that really makes this truck stand out. Thanks for letting us follow along on the journey, its even better with the back story. -

1965 Dodge Altered Wheelbase - Landy's Dodge

That is a awesome build and what a great reference that magazine was. I followed your lead and found a lot of those magazines on ebay - I'm a book / magazine user more than the internet. Thanks for showing this fine build and sharing the reference material. Ive got a resin altered wheelbase kit with a Ross Gibson Hemi waiting to see time on the bench. -
This turned out great, the vinyl top really caught my eye.

Jeff those are all great, and many of them have been on my "want to build" list. I always liked the Wally Booth camaro! You've had a productive Thanksgiving.

Cat D-7 is finished.

Wow - that is spectacular to see a cable drive dozer built. As with all your models your level of detail is top notch. My dad had one very similar and a cable drive D-2 loader, he didn't believe in anything modern such as an electric start. It was "pony engines" or nothing. -
We live between two neighbors who go overboard with the LED's , one asked me last year how we liked their lights. I told her it was like living between two strip clubs in Las Vegas. She hasn't spoken to us since !

What a looker, those old cars has such style.

First off its been over 10 years since I built anything and posted it it here - Long story short a unexpected move and loss of dedicated hobby room. My workspace now consists of several tv trays. "MW Elky's" 1/4 mile cars kept my interests for several years of wanting to build "Pro Stocks" again. So with that intro here we go - Grumpy Jenkins was one of my all time favorite drivers , so I'm gonna build Toy V, Toy VII (show car), and Toy VIII Starting with "The Old Pro", last time I built this was in 1979, seemed like the most awesome kit back then as I made it with a lift off "fiberglass front". Now my opinion is not as such, backdating this kit made me wish for the Revell 69 Nova - but hey I'm using what kits I have on hand. The fenders - I think they are "Dynacorn" pieces (those of you that used the 1/1's will get it) The Camaro's are also AMT one full bumper with a L88 hood for VII, and the split bumper for VII. I have competition resin lump scoops but cant find them after a decade. I may scratch build the scoop. Here is where the progress is so far - Thanks for looking in!

Sheesh - glad to hear you were able to disconnect everything for the next go around. Its been a few years since I messed with these but I did something along this procedure - I use to take and glue that linkage platform to the bottom of the cab with a bit of canopy glue or white glue. It would allow me to lower the cab and it would have a bit of flex also if it needed to move a bit. I would then use that as a reference for gluing the platform to the frame location. Eventually I quit using the weak kit hinges and went to aluminum tubing and mechanics wire ! If you are gonna weather your cab a bit I suggest pastels or the tamiya equivalent like the armor modelers do. Keep up the good work - I feel I need a tetanus shot from looking at that exhaust - there isn't enough structure to that pipe for the flex pipe to hang on too. Oh hey I'm in the planning process of building a 1960 KW coe -
That is a really nice Bf109 Airfix put out. How was the kit for assembly and such ? It looks like Airfix has really been upping their game You did a fantastic job on this , sorry to hear about your mishap. I had built an old Monogram one many years back and before I could take a pic of it for my forum buddies I had lost it - so I thought. My daughters big fat cat was sitting on it - the landing gear did not hold up to fat cat either.

I never knew a lot of these trucks were ever offered in 1/32, let alone trailers - You've got a nice fleet right there and all of them look great. My absolute favorite is the Sonny Pruitt truck !! Top Notch work 👍

What a trio delight, I really like seeing your projects (1) you give the details to off help to anyone else wanting to replicate (2) they are just always awesome 😎 Thanks for sharing them , I bet your collection of built cars is something...

This will be a very fun project to watch. I'll see if I can find that box of resin parts this weekend - I still may have some of those tanks. Too bad Terry doesn't post here anymore , he casted a lot of those tanks. What is the engine in the background for ??? -

Wow what a looker , you've really upped your game on your model trucks. This is exceptional work and detail - the antenna really caught my eye as that is a item often overlooked. Good to see you posting - was worried you might had floated off after that last hurricane. -
1/16 Scale K & K Dodge Daytona
Old Buckaroo replied to TooOld's topic in Stock Cars (NASCAR, Super Stock, Late Model, etc.)
This is awesome, great back story, good ole K-Mart where many of us bought kits and using reference material pre dating internet and use of balsa wood to make the nose & spoiler and then to top it off No decals!!! Bob I'm so glad you brought this out and knocked off the dust and shared it. Top notch work and sure doesn't look like a 38 yr old model. -
The bane of my existence! Pete 353
Old Buckaroo replied to Bren's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
This is a great project you have going. I had to laugh at the thread title as I felt the same way about the 353 I built years back. Love the detailing you've added - keep with it, your almost there. -

Love the gold and black stripes. Every time I see that engine I can remember that cologne of grime mixed with a hint of diesel fuel. -

Ron I like it a lot - I'm glad you kept after it and brought it to the finish line I mean truck stop. Love the outside pics with the trailer. The three center clearance light - That's classy ? I really enjoy the builds that are backdated.
