Stunning is all I can think of, man that looks nice and it looks flawless. Lil John Buttera was one of my early influences, looked so forward to his articles in the hot rod magazines of the early 80's. (I need one of these kits)

No that's a sweet looking Poncho , did you scratch build the Tach. ?

DAVE LYALL’S 1970 FORD GOING THING PRO STOCK MUSTANG
Old Buckaroo replied to M W Elky's topic in Drag Racing
Very nice looking representation of Lyall's Mustang I'm pretty partial to those "4 speed years" myself. -
Now that is a really cool and clean build up - the first pic is Wow! I had one of these kits at one time but never fooled with it. Seeing yours makes me wish I still had it.

Mine would be to actually place all the parts, decals and kits for planned projects in one box and put peel off labels on such boxes labeling them for example "California Flash Camaro" instead of the box of wheels, decals and resin parts all in their own areas. That way I'm not wondering - "now why did I acquire this kit"??

Love that blue paint and your busy bench.

Bill - I'm wanting to build the '71 Roadrunner as first choice, 72 Cuda would be second. Have kits to do either. Thanks for checking..

Thanks - I had seen that and almost bought it thinking maybe I could paint over the Name with gold paint - but I don't think my hand is that steady anymore ( for the last 30 years to be truthful)

Ive got a set from the AMT offering if those will work for you.

Kenworth Alaskan

Most excellent build and even more bonus points that its rebuilt! I like that you added the icicles and frosted windows. Now we know why the original kit came with the propane bottles! -
I feel you pain - There is a radio station that plays "oldies" on Saturday morning. The music is great - makes you feel like your in "American Graffiti" problem is the host likes to hear himself talk. Talks through the songs about his memories or whatever sometimes even sings with them.

Its nice to see models that resemble real daily drivers ! Ive got a complete unassembled small bock engine for this kit if you want it. I rarely use the small block chevy engines in my projects.

Now this is a really cool project with a back story ! I love the pic of the chassis tied to the top of the family car. That is model worthy right there!! Are you using a micro torch or an electric iron for soldering?- 63 replies

“BUILDING THE COVERS “ Vol # 94 BARRY SETZERS Pro Stock Camaro
Old Buckaroo replied to M W Elky's topic in Drag Racing
Another nice addition to your collection. How many 1/4 mile cars have you built Mike? As always thanks for the parts break down and you're 100% right about those Camaro kits! Ed Pink - I think I still have some of those 1/1 decals out in my toolbox from a set of connecting rods. -
This is actually one of the rare times I bought a model from a walk in store - Hobby Lobby I wouldn't have been as surprised if I had bought it off the bay. Someone at Round Two was sleeping that day.

AMT - retooled '67 Camaro kit. Had it for awhile, cut the cellophane off today to see if the suspension was better detailed than the Revell '69 Camaro kit. There was No parts bag containing suspension , engine and and spare hood with hole. I'm glad my wife was sitting nearby to hear my astonishment 😲 Never expected that from a sealed kit - now an open box from a yard sale or ebay - yeah that could happen. Thankfully there's always those parts on ebay from slot car racers.

Shasta trailer
Old Buckaroo replied to TonyK's topic in All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
That is a cool little trailer, a different background it it would look real. Did you have any warp'age issues to fix before hand ? I remember seeing those advertised in the old SAE magazine, wish Id ordered one myself. -
Thanks for looking and commenting Ian - yeah good ole Dynacorn. I can tell you've had experience with their products .😃 I made a deal with my wife to not put the spray booth back in till after the holidays. So I'm stuck in the construction mode for a bit. Started one more for the group "Toy VI". Starting with a Revell 69 Camaro kit. Does anyone know if this mold started originally as a snap kit? Open top rear diff, front suspension not much to brag about either. Scratch built the "lump" and the old style "Lakewood roll bar" Thanks for looking in.

Resto Rod Autocar

Those look like a close match to the Diamond Reo fenders. Bumpers are easy to make with styrene, truck frames or plastic channel -
89AKurt - Nice launch, almost landed on the pad - how did you manage that ? I didn't see any relief holes in that parachute. I'm envious of your weather there.

Johnny Cash 1972 C60 Chevrolet
Old Buckaroo replied to DRIPTROIT 71's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
This is an awesome truck, "she may not have much for glamor but shes a hauler". The exhaust pipe is my favorite part as the bracket bolted to the top of the sleeper ! -
What a great improvement on the leaf spring stacks , that's one of the things that can put me over the edge - diamond shaped leaf springs (and figure 8 shaped shocks) You know - you're missing an opportunity to use one of those p/e weld seams on a "repaired spring" !!!
