Finished yesterday night. The paint was wet sanded and polished with novus products. I added only BMF to the trim, windshield and dashboard. This was a very fun box stock project and I am very happy with the results. Hope you like it...

Thank you all for your comments!!!!!!!!!!!! Hi Jaffa, I was working on a 63 and a 59 Impala before I moved to my new home, but since I had to remodel most of the house and had no place to paint it slowed me down. Now I have a temporary "paint booth" so I decided to clear the old projects shelf while I get used to my new place and I am almost done. I will soon post WIP pics of the impalas . I already finished this one so I will post some pics later today when the sun comes out. Thanks!!!!!!!

Just another small update... Ok, The engine is installed and now it seats on its four wheels. I already started to work on the interiors but I wanted to do a mock up just to see how it is going to look. Hope you like it so far and thank you all for your comments.

That's a cool one Greg!!!!!!! Do you think maybe you can bring it for november to the CSAE? It would be great to see it "in person".

Thanks Tom!!!! The first time I used tamiya tape it bleeded through; it took me a couple of "trial and error" to get a grip on it but at the end it came out nice. Congratulations again man, you are doing a GREAT job.

Like my buddy cruz says... sweeeeeeet!!!!! Loks great Tom, are you sure this is the first time you mask and paint that way? Man, the first time I did it, the model ended up so bad that my wife almost call the police squad, so they can secure the perimiter while the CSI guys arrive to identify the body and look for fingerprints on the spray cans... 8) 8) What brand did you used for masking, Tamiya?

Last week I installed a temporary exhaust system so I can start shooting some paint in what is going to be my new hobbie room. So far I have finished one of the three projects I have left behind before I moved to my new home and I am on my way of clearing of the projects shelf so I can move on to new builds. I will post pics of the finished projects very soon but meanwhile I wanted to share with you some pics of one the "in process" builds I want to finish by the end of the week. This is a 1940 Ford that came home as a gift from my best friend Marcos Cruz. I started on this one about 8 months ago and I had all parts prep for painting and boxed. Last friday I took them out of the box and started painting. So far I finished all painting on sunday afternoon, including the body wich will seat on the shelf for a week before I start polishing it out. I decided to use different metalizer shades for the under body. Here are all the parts painted and buffed. Here are a couple of pics of the interiors wich I decided to paint in Tamiya "Light Sand". I will detail them with BMF and put a couple of extra details here and there. Last thing, the body wich I decided to paint in Tamiya "Light Blue Metalic" and top coated with boyds clearcote. I will start the assembly tonight so I will be posting more pics as the build goes. Haven't decide wich rims will go with it so I will welcome any suggestions. Thanks for looking.

I have been in this hobby full time for about four years and I really enjoy it. I have very good friends and every day I learn something new. I have seen posts regarding who will or will not go out of business producing kits, resins, aftermarket parts, etc., but what really worries me is that posts regarding youngsters involved in the hobby are very few. I am 40; I have a 10 year old kid an an 8 year old daughter wich both are involved in model building, among other activities of their age. My wife has also a couple of builds and we enjoy building together. I guess I am a very fortunate man and believe me, I will encourage them to keep building even if it just a snap kit a year. I try to promote our hobbie everywhere I go but people seem to be more interested in "just looking", rather than buying a kit and building, regardless of the kit's skill level. I have met lots of youngsters out there that really enjoy what they see, but they see that this is so time consumming, so expensive, so overwhelming in detail that they rather go play a videogame or hang out at the mall, than spent hours sitting on a desk with a piece of plastic. This is only a thought that's been in my mind for quite a while and just wanted to get some feedback on you guys. Just think about it for while and you will see that the junior class on the contests is the one with less entries every year. Here are a couple of pics of my kids at one of this years event, The 'MC Tonigh" where both got awards. My kid got pic one of the Top 15 and my daughter got a special award because she decided to enter a small 1/32 snap she put togheter with the rest of the crowd. She knew she had no chance on winning, but she just wanted to put her build on the table for daddy to take a pic of it near the rest of the builds, and just for that she got awarded, for not being afraid of showing her work.

My Boy's First Mid-Atlantic NNL Win!....Pics....
Luis Ayala replied to Bluzboy66's topic in Contests and Shows
Congratulations!!!!!!!! I really enjoy when youngsters are rewarded by their work & effort. For Us who are fathers there's nothing better in the world than a smile on your kids face. Among all the things that the kids have these days, like videogames, Ipods, etc., it is great to see them get involved in model building. Your Kid has great skills, I mean like father like son... 8) Again, congratulations to both and keep on building!!!!!!!!!!! -
Mid Atlantic NNL Pics from Gregg

WOW!!!!! Congratulations to "MAMA" and to all who attended, specially the winners and to Mr. Jeff Sauber, Marcos told me he went home with 4 class awards. I was there las year for the first time and all I can say is that I was speechless when I saw his work.  Hope to see you there next year too Greg!!!! -
I wish I could be there...  but I will have to wait untill next year. Moving to a new house is keeping me on slow motion but hopefully everything will be in place by the end of the year. I know is going to be a GREAT show because "MAMA'S Boyz" put their heart & soul into this event. I was there last year for the first time and believe me I felt right at home. Hope you all have a good time and look forward to see lots of pics...

'63 Chrysler Turbine Car Update----Final Update!-6/23/07
Luis Ayala replied to MrObsessive's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Hi Bill, Hope everything is well. Best wishes to your mom, all she needs is good care and a lot of love and she will get well soon. Take care my friend, -
I just grab this kit from the shelf yesterday cause I wanted to get something finished, even if it was so simple. I have been strugling to get some projects finished but I am far behind any luck... Now I hope to get some inspiration after this one. This is an 1/87 scale 1901 Olds, Curved Dash from Replicars. It has no detail, no clearcote, no nothing but what came with the kit and a poor paint job, but at least it seats on its four wheels and is finished. Hope you like it and thanks for looking.
