Here are a couple of pics of the Impala progress. I was working in the background with this one while clearing old projects from the shelf, so now is time to speed it up a little. I decided to use black instead of green carpet just to tone it down a little. Hope you like it and thanks for looking.

I totally agree with Ron, I don't see ANYTHING wrong in this VW. Nice work man you should be proud of it...

Thanks Bill!!!!! I am glad you like it... I am using Tamiya lacquers to speed up some projects so I can bring new builds to our CSAE on November as well as a couple of more detailed projects I am working on at the same time. -
I started this one about a week ago for a local show that will be held next sunday at a nearby shopping mall. I decided to paint it on Tamiya "Pure White" white to give it a "sleeper" look . Interiors will be flat black and I added 19" CL on front and 23" on the rear. I will also add some wiring to the engine and an MCG tachometer kit. Hope you like it and thanks for looking. Here is a pic of the body ready to paint Here are some pics of the body already painted, polished & foiled Here are some pics of the engine and chasis.

Thanks Jeff, I really missed being there too... Beleive me I felt right at home with you guys there, you are like a big family and that's what I love about this hobbie... Moving to a new home took more than I expected, but the time and efforts were rewarding. Thanks for the compliments on the Impala, I am glad you like like it. I was speechless when I saw your work on the NNL last year. As you said, that is some SERIOUS metal work man... I learned "tool & die" making when I was at college and I worked with, lathes, mills, and other machine shop equipment, but that was long ago. You have really mastered it. Your skills are amazing. I already have plans for next year so, if everything comes out well I'll be thare at your NNL. I have some projects that are comming up on slow motion, among them are 63' & 59' Impalas, BMW 507, another 53' Victoria,( but this one will be a convertible), Delahaye 135 and a Bugatti Coupe Napoleon. That's my wish list, so I hope I can get them done by next year. If you ever want to come visit us here in PR just let me know and we will work it out. Best Regards,

A pair of vintage racers; 289 Cobra and Porsche RS60 UPDATE
Luis Ayala replied to Zoom Zoom's topic in Model Cars
I totally agree with ken, is nice to see a model with lots of details, but the kind of model that really makes you "stop and stare" is the one with just the right details. Both of your builds are OUTSTANDING. Taking the most out of kit without investing $$$$ is what really makes a modeler stand from the crowd. Man, the cobra looks like you can still smell the paint!!!!! I would never guess it is 20 years old...  Congratulations, your work is absolutely fantastic... -
The detail on the engine looks purrrrrrrrrfect, congratulations!!!!!!!! The paint looks nice & smooth and the wheels look GREAT. Thanks Tom and hope you get well soon, back pain is my twin brother, I have lived with it since 1991, when I fell from a ladder abot 30 feet hight. It took me almost a year to recover, but thank God I can still walk. Take care man and get well...

Looks great so far, don't worry abot the front seat Ray, the interiors look just fine... Any pics of the engine yet?
