Thank you guys for your kind words!!!!!! Sometimes life seems to be unfair but it is just a matter of perspective, you can always see something positive from these situations. We can’t stand still in our "safety zone" and forget that the whole world is changing and that somehow someday those changes are going to hit us. Thanks ajulia, "pa' lante hermano pa' tras ni pa' coger impulso" Thanks awbcrazy, I love whitewalls but this time I wanted to break the rules and be just a little different… you know… people will stop and stare...wondering why in the world this guy did this???? Is just an "Armor All" thing… Thanks Marcos, I always count on you brother… Hi Bill!!!!!!! Sorry to hear that from your work, this thing is happening everywhere… I managed to keep the 53' and believe me I had good offers, but I really love it so is sitting on the back shelf for now. As for the rest of the projects they are all gone including the BMW507 I posted earlier this year. Glad you like the 32' I will be posting something new in a couple of days. Take care my friend… Hi Dan, yes you are right the wheel covers are from the AMT Studebaker!!!! Thanks ######'n, you bet I'll keep 'em coming buddy.!!!!!! Thanks Ismael, the honor is mine… Again thank you all for your kind words... Luis

My Dad used to say that after the storm, calm comes... Well... after loosing my job on October 2007 I had no choice but to sold about 85% of my model kits collection, including most of my already started projects. First thing first you know... I got a new job but now I have to catch up, pay the bills and stay focus. I just wanted to share with you some pics of a 1932 Ford "Highboy" I build for our first meeting challenge. This is the first model I have finished this year and even it is not a highly detail build, I really enjoyed getting something done again. I only added R & M dashboard-gauge detail set and the spark plug wires. Paint color is Duplicolor "Autumn Maple†with black primer to make it darker. No clearcote was applied, just polished the paint. A simple project, but a really nice kit to warm up again after “Hibernationâ€â€¦ Hope you like it and thanks for looking…

Where Do You Work And Paint?
Luis Ayala replied to Clay's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Well, I finally managed to get my spot almost done with the help of my wife and kids. I moved to a new house about a year ago and strugled with and endless remodeling. Before, I had no place but a small 2'X3' table but now I have plenty of space and everything is confined in the same room so, I hope to get organized for good. I have a 6' by 30" workbench where I do all the surgery and have enough room for a "photo boot". I have a 7-feet rack for the paints and suff, a couple of wall shelfs and a display for my models. Still need to organize a few things and add some artwork to the walls but is great to have a place for my stuff. The painting area will be outside the room under a steel stair for the second level where theres a patio and enough ventilation. -
Hi Marcos!!!!!!!!! The paint really came out nice, this is my second attempt with this enamel automotive paints and this time I didn't used the hardener. It landed very smooth and dryed in about two days with a decent shine. The polishing wasn't as difficult as I expected so it took me just a couple of hours to get it done.

Thank you all for your comments!!!!! Hi Kelson, I am using the kit instructions for the assembly, but I also have reference material and pics from the web. It took me a couple of days to get what I needed to start. If you do a"google" search and select "images" you will get lots of reference pics. Hope it helps... I will post more pics in a couple of days.

Well 2007 is gone and I still have a couple of things in the work bench that didn't make it through. I decided to put them aside for now and start a fresh project that I already had in mind for a while, the 1955 BMW-507. This is a very nice kit and I am sure it will be very fun to build. The body is already painted, polished and so far I started to work on the engine. The paint is the original 1955 color "Signal Red" wich I had it mix at a local automotive paint store. Hope you like it and thanks for looking...

Ok harry, this one cost me a full year supply of Tylenol... It looks real... ... so it is a 50/50 chance guess... I will go for model this time. The only two things that make me think it is a model are: 1) I don't see a gap betwen the door and the front fender. 2) The door skin seems to be too thin.

I voted Model... Large Scale Gullwing. The rear view mirror is the giveaway.

I will say model, just because of the wiper, if you look closely it is barely touching the windshield in the center and that is a common mistake on model kits. The real car wiper frame is thinner and has a sectioned architecture to allow the blade to travel among the wide windshield contour.

Model Cars Opinion Poll
Luis Ayala replied to Jairus's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I really enjoy the whole magazine, but the 3 things I like the most are: 1) The "Kit Reviews" Section 2) The "What's New" Section 3) The "Ask G & J" Section I believe that the magazine is great as is; the way things are arranged is the reason why I really enjoy every page of it. There's no if's or but's or go to page XX or things like that. As for new sections, I will love to see a bunch of articles regarding the story of this hobbie, you know like who was the first company, the first models, how the aftermarket company have grown since they started and stuff like that. Another thing I will like to see is some articles covering club meetings where they show their builds, and get together to have fun... -
This is one of the models that were in my plans for our CSAE event that was held on Nov-4th. I planned more detail on it but unfortunately had to abandon the ideas cause of lack of time. It was very fun to build and eventhough I didn't achieved the detail I was expecting i am very happy with the results. The kit is mostly box stock exept for a pre wired ignition and some scalemotorsports upholestry decals. The paint is a custom mix with testors enamels covered with boyds clearcote. Pics are from madslammer's fotki album; I will post more pics later this week. Hope you like it and thanks for looking.

I really admire your patience, I bought two of those kits about 3 years ago and I know what you are talking about... I did started one but got tired of cleaning parts and put it aside. I know your mom will love it... Keep us posted!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations to Ray, as he is one of the best modelers of the Island. He is always there to help when you need advice and he has done a lot of "how to" seminars on our monthly meetings at "The Plastic Model Store" at Bayamon PR.This was really the most deserved prize of the day. He brough only one model to the show and he won 1st place Euro Class and Best of show.

Sorry to hear that Ariel, but the good thing is you will be around anyway so... I'll buy the "lechon asao" and "guineitos en escabeche", Rogelio and Carlos will get the "neverita"...
