  1. I didn't think about that as most athletes charge even more for an inscription.
  2. The schedule below is for the Comic Expo coming to town next month. Not my kinda thing but I stumbled onto the Facebook page and was curious about who was coming which lead to checking the autograph schedule/prices.....WOW....In order from L to R is the price for an autograph, a picture and then a selfie. I think the most I paid for an autograph was John Gruden (he came to Dick's Sporting Goods for a MNF awards program for a local school) but the money went to his foundation. No charge for the a pic and got to meet him (I was working there part time and being a Bucs fan begged to work that night). Other than him, my max was $3 for a former college basketball player who was a huge fan fav. 3. He was a stray. He has two chips but neither had current owner info. His fur was so overgrown that his first trip was to the groomer/vet and they cut over 4 pounds of fur off him! His fur was so bad that he couldn't even even have a bowel movement without it sticking to his butt (the shelter could have at least trimmed THAT) Too many humans failed him!
  4. From the Facebook event page of a local event My Furry Valentine.... Today we celebrate mixed-breed dogs, or mutts. This special day was created to be celebrated on two dates per year, July 31st and December 2nd to raise awareness of the plight of mixed breed dogs in shelters around the nation, as approximately 80% of dogs in shelters are mixed breeds. Most pure breeds that end up in the shelter are generally rescued quickly by either the public wanting a “less expensive” purebred dog or by a pure breed rescue. The day’s mission is to educate the public about the sea of mixed breed dogs that desperately await new homes and to celebrate the amazing characteristics that the mix of breeds creates in each individual dog. Here's three of my foursome (all four are rescues) Turner...Jack Russell/Sheltie Bear....Pekingese/Border Collie Brian....Husky/Aussie Not shown only because she turns every time I try to get her pic....Jamie, purebred Aussie
  5. 1/24 Die cast...$12 including shipping. I miss the days when MPC issued trucks and gave 2x4, 4x4, standard bed, stepside, etc variants Wife's nephew has a 1:1 similar truck without the stripe.....$44K
  6. 1975 Chevrolet Impala Polaris Slingshot Subaru SVX

  8. Despite filing for bankruptcy twice in just over two years, RadioShack announced a partnership with HobbyTown, a toy and hobby retailer, which will bring the electronics retailer's branded merchandise to 60 HobbyTown franchise locations across the U.S. The new stores will be called "RadioShack Express." Over time the new RadioShack Express “store-within-a-store” concept will be rolled out to HobbyTown in over 100 of their locally owned stores. The first Express stores will open next week. Total Retail's Take: Good news for RadioShack and its loyal customers. It's the first big announcement from RadioShack since it emerged from its Chapter 11 reorganization in January with 400 dealer locations across the U.S. (mostly in rural locations) and a focus on its e-commerce business. This partnership with HobbyTown will give RadioShack more exposure to many of the suburban markets it had to give up when it shuttered more than 1,000 stores after filing bankruptcy the second time in 2017. What's more, the store-within-a-store concept has been a popular and successful strategy for many retailers over the years, so it will be interesting to see how it fares for RadioShack. Seems like the marriage of Sears and KMart version 2.0
  9. I would like to see the 4x4 'off road' version come back
  10. From the Derby City Modelers show last weekend...... The 36 and 48 Ford are sealed. I didn't think the Supra was going to be on Round2's horizon so I had to grab it. The Viper ACR is a Bbuargo die cast (needs some detailing)
  11. I got into Mr Potato Head's a few years ago with the Three Stooges version......
  12. I have an uncle that is a chiropractor. I have TMJ and read on line of people getting relief from treatment so I reached out. After watching the 20 minute demo with the cut outs in his office and big words sailing WAY over my head (I was a solid D- student, with the curve in high school Zoology) I gave it try. The sounds were creepy and was hoping I wasn't going to need a helper monkey the rest of my life as he adjusted me. It took several treatments but it did work.

  14. Thank you for what you do (!) especially giving a head up and not pulling the plug then telling us later you had to take it down. Most IT I've worked with take it down and then get snotty because they have to close the fifty work tickets people put in because their Internet quit working.
  15. My Aussie hurt herself (most likely playing with one of my other three dogs) so I called the vet. She was limping on a front paw as well as had that old man walk (that I myself know and do too often). It was almost the end of their day and she was able to lay comfortably so I asked if they had an appointment the next day. Will 10:30a work? Absolutely! I gave her an anti-inflammatory (took care of the limp) and she slept through the night. I can call my vet (we recently changed as the other one was farther away but they knew how to treat greyhounds which both have passed) and get an appointment within half a day (either one would do this for me). Call the family Dr (four in the practice), spewing from both ends like a fountain....we have an appointment a week from next Tuesday? BTW.....Jamie is doing fine. They gave her an Rx for the anti-inflammatory and a steroid shot. Strained the muscles in the middle of her back.
  16. I'm more drawn to the McDonald's colored vehicle with the cross-eyed headlights
  17. They are just misunderstood.....I think the PC terminology is a horizontal recreation business manager of the service industry
  18. 1/18. Costco should be getting their annual shipment soon as well
  19. This one is going to be a rough build..... One of the very few models my father ever built was this 48 Ford. He brush painted the body blue (didn't do too bad for what it was) and a red interior. He had a 46 Ford when he was young and this was the closest he would ever get to a model of one. I still have it somewhere in my BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH in his basement. He passed away a little over a year ago after a lengthy battle with Dementia including the last two years in a nursing home. He always loved cars and I would show him pics on my phone from car shows (cars of the 40s and 50s were his favorite), but as the disease progressed I had to stop as he grew frustrated that he could no longer communicate and tell stories or details of that specific car. I got it today at the Derby City model show in Louisville today. (pic plagiarized from eBay).
  20. Absolutely! For me it's seafood...shrimp, squid, octopus, clam strips, gator, scallops, lobster. The wife's limit is the BBQ salmon at Lone Star. Both boys will eat my shrimp, but that is about it. I don't help matters when I also go for the Jamaican, Thai or other aromatic spices. (I'm fat because I can cook and apparently do very well)
  21. GM.....why? This is why people ignore warning messages on the info center. I drove to Derby City Model show and around the two hour mark this popped up. It did it again when I drove across I64 to Lexington even though I spent about half an hour sitting on the highway while they funneled three lanes into one (resurfacing). I turn on the digital readout for the odometer as I know I have a tendency to exceed the speed limit and this is easier to read without my old fart 'up close' glasses on. Low fuel, low tire pressure, check engine....yes! We don't need the car to nag us.
  22. Fried Calamari. Wife worked and my oldest son took his younger brother fishing so time to break out the one food only I will eat in this house.
  23. Progressive Insurance!!! 1) My son had a flat so I called for Roadside Service. It was less expensive to put him on his own policy. I called their 800 line and after half a dozen prompts I get a live body. She proceeds to ask which vehicle I'm calling about. There is ONE on the policy! 2) I said he has a flat but if the tech can just inflate it, he can drive to the shop and I'l get the tire looked at. She said the tech won't have a pump. Say what? I have Safeco and twice I've broken a seal with the rim and the tech had a pump (this is an important part) 3) They text him with a message they will be there in 45 minutes. No problem. I call him two hours after my request and they haven't there nor updated him. I called Progressive and lit them up! Fifteen minutes later they track down the driver and they said he had a 911 kinda service call. That is fine and I can wait my turn, but the lack of communication was unacceptable. 4) They show up and yep, no pump so they put the spare on. I get the typical apology call from the service folks (who ironically do the roadside service for both Progressive and Safeco) and got told him this was by far the worst experience with Progressive. I dropped my policy with them as after about 10-12 years and no accidents/tickets my rates jumped For the outrageous rates they charge (especially single, male drivers), I expected much better service
