I like it....at least in the pic. I didn't think I would like the four door version of the Jeep until I saw one when they came out (and even worse rented one for a weekend from Enterprise).

Great customer service continues......(Sarcasm) I ordered three things from Dicks Sporting Goods on their Black Friday sale of 25% off and free shipping. I wanted a fourth item (Pops character of the Vegas goalie) but it was out of stock so I wasn't able to add it. I got my confirmation immediately and then one by one confirmation it was shipped.....well, for two of them. They arrived today so I did the live chat asking about the third one. The operator said is wasn't in stock even though I pointed out that it was STILL in stock on their website. Yeah he didn't give a poop and was issuing a credit.....but i can re-order when it's back in stock. I asked if they would honor the sale and he said probably not. This quality service was one of the nails in TRU's coffin. One of my last trips to a store a manager dipped the conversation with the cashier when she asked if I found everything and I said 'no'. I told him there were no hockey goalies in the McFarlane series (there were two in that issue of six) and he was so cocky that he knew they had a case in the warehouse. I said if you have a case, I will buy all six characters to get those two! He came back ten minutes later empty handed. My final dealing with them was ordering two things from their website. Got the BS e-mails they were coming, shipping soon, in stock soon, etc and finally "yeah we're canceling your order but check in our stores". Wait....you don't have it in the warehouse so I should drive around to their stores when they should be able to see on line if they have it in their OWN stock?? I never set foot in their store again...not even when they had their closeout. Too many other places want the business.

I was much younger in this pic...... My brother in law put this on his Facebook page when friends were hounding him for pictures of him when he was a kid. He is extra "fluffy" so I don't think he appreciated my comment "I didn't realize you were such a great swimmer"

Round eye steak marinated all day in Brazilian Steakhouse flavoring (used lime juice instead of red wine vinegar). It may be the last decent weather (50's and no rain/wind) so had to grill out (charcoal) one last time. Cheezy Cheddar potatoes as a side.

Today is the final pre-teen birthday for my youngest. The wife stopped going to hockey games with me years ago (I still believe the wedding vows should be changed from "I do" to " I use to, but not anymore!!". She actually had the idea of going to the ECHL Cincinnati Cyclones game to night, I don't know what site she was on, but got four tickets right behind the opposing team (Kalamazoo Wings) penalty box. I'm okay with it as he's not going to hear any worse language than what slips out at home from either of his parents. One of their players was a frequent flyer to the box tonight (three consecutive trips) and on the third trip, saw Garrett and tossed him a game used puck over the glass when he entered the box. I think he is sleeping with the puck tonight!! This is one of the reasons I prefer the minor league teams!! The players try harder as they wanna make it to the next level and they appreciate their fans! He just made a 12 year olds day...no, year!! I will reach out to the team next week when the front office is back from the holiday and make a donation to the team's charity in that players name (Ben Betker)

Sadly, these companies are too focused on the $$ more than the quality of their work. I've been in commercial real estate for almost 30 years (property management, facilities management and leasing) and know the cost of certain things. I tip my hand and tell the contractor my background with the thought these companies are going to be realistic with the estimate....wrong!! I understand that manpower, equipment, insurance, etc each add up but the profit levels were just more than I found reasonable. Roof replacement.....two quotes well over $11k for a complete tear off two layers and new shingles. Neighbor had their roof done and I had their contractor do mine....cost? Just under $8k! And a year later I gave them a co-workers house because they treated my right! Garage door replacement......$450 for just the install. YouTube'd it and bribed my oldest to do it for $200. All the garage door companies want to double dip selling the door AND installing it. Tree branches hanging over the driveway if they fall will pull the wires from the house......$600 to trim a couple branches. Called the utility company and told them if they are close to the wires. Couple hours later I hear the utility company's contractor in the driveway with chainsaw's roaring....no charge.

We moved away from Direct TV as due to constant issues with the signal strength. I don't think the sales rep at HHGregg appreciated my comment to stop sending the tech with the lazy eye to align the dish! He said they sent their best guy, in fact the guy he has dial his own personal dish in. You had four tries with a different tech each time and clearly went with 'good enough' not 'we have a good signal'. Time Warner was short lived as a replacement as we had signal issues which I was willing to have (to a certain extent) with satellite but not actual cable. When we left to Cincinnati Bell, Time Warner did not credit my account correctly and charged me $10.xx for not bringing the equipment back on time and even sent me to collections. I wrote a nasty-gram and just lit them up on the WalMart quality equipment, service 'quality' and we actually brought the equipment back before the end of the contract. They cancelled the collection and refunded about $30. Still won't go back to them.....

It wasn't until a great uncle's funeral did I learn "Uncle Bob" was in FDR's Presidential Honor Guard and escorted his flag draped casket. That's him behind at the wheel. I knew he was in WWII and those that served never spoke other than 'they did what they were called upon to do'. He also had a purple heart and a silver star. My father served seven and half years in the Air Force including deployment to Germany during the construction of the Berlin Wall (although the VA didn't consider that active deployment to a hostile area). Dad lost his battle with Dementia a year ago Memorial Day weekend. He gave me the appreciation I have for cars. I acquired a 1/43 AMT 48 Ford (still wrapped) last year at a show...same one my Dad did when I was a kid. He kinda phoned it in on the skill level but it's hard for me to touch it right now but I will build it as he intended.

That happened at my Dad's house. I called in a local company that had great reviews and the tech came out, had to cut a hole in the door (no other door, glass block windows and the cable wrapped itself around the track) so it could be opened. He claimed the spring had to be ordered (okay....?) I called his office and ordered the spring AND a replacement panel for the door since this one had a big hole. Two weeks later another guy shows up with the spring (stating it was a standard part and the first quy should have had it on his truck) and no panel. The office didn't order one. Why would I replace the spring on a door with a hole. Leave....just....leave. Bought a close out door from Menard's. Called their recommended installer and they wanted $400 to install it. Um, no! All other placed wanted to double dip selling the door AND installing it. I bribed my 21 year old son with what it should cost (around $200) to do it with a YouTube video.

I would NOT commit that crime again!!!!! First thing would be enroll in the Witness Relocation Program.....I'm off the grid! Second would be start an animal rescue/refuge/sanctuary as rehoming my father's dog when he was no longer able to care for him was a struggle. I've seen too many dogs dumped at shelters when their human can no longer care for them and family can't/won't take the animal.

They must survive on the r/c world. I haven't been to the local on in several years (or the one in Lexington) due to poor customer service. They used to carry Hot Wheels and other collectable lines so I figured I would stop in. The sign says the store opens at 10a...no signs of life. A middle age guy and an older gentleman unlock and walk in a few minutes after 10a so it'll be another ten before they are ready to welcome the public. Almost all the models were the same as the last round of close outs at Hobby Lobby or the current stock at Ollies. There were a few Revell Germany kits. Down a little farther, the die cast shelves were in disarray. A few years ago I worked at Dicks Sporting Goods and no one left unless the Manager was happy everything was straightened for the following morning. (The 1/24 Maisto yellow four door Jeep did catch my eye but not at $24!!). I did grab the die cast 1/24 New Ray 66 GTO for $15 as I only saw one at Hobby Lobby once and never again.
