  1. Got these several months ago from a local hobby store that specialized in radio controlled cars/planes. There was talk of the store closing and the owner had taken ill. I went over to check the stock and got these along with a pair of Moebius step side Ford's at 40% off. Later that afternoon, their facebook said the remaining stock was purchased by a competitor and the store closed. I went past the building this weekend and it's been dozed by a bank that bought the property. Shame to see another small store go out.
  2. Didn't need them but priced right......
  3. Have no idea what I'm going to do with it but it was too cool to pass up. We didn't have cool toys like this when I was a kid.....
  4. D50 started JoHan Cadillac has a small crack at the base of the drivers side windshield post but complete...including odd ball custom parts
  5. Funko...... So i ordered two Pops characters and eight Protectors taking advantage of their 20% off Black Friday special. I get the shipment and the box is clearly too small to contain ten things. I open it and the Pops characters were there but only two protectors with the packing label showing it should have contained ten items. I e-mailed Funko the same day....no response. Next day I day a pic of the box and the contents showing the box is too small....THAT provoked a response. They apologized and will ship my missing items but to allow seven days to fulfill it. Wait....the first one took over a week to ship via ground (which was fine since it was part of the Black Friday offer) so it'll be at least TWO weeks to get what I should already have? Earlier this week, they sent a survey asking how the customer support person did. I marked it as unsatisfactory as the rep did an okay job as an error that obvious one would think they would expedite the shipping.
  6. Impressive detail for $15.

  9. Be careful as I bought two models from them Black Friday last year. One of them had the seals broken and box badly worn as it had been opened many times. I e-mailed them and they only said 'send it back' so I presume it was at my cost and no mention of how much would refunded. It was meant to be a gift so had they been honest in their description, I would have passed.
  10. Things got ugly Monday night as the area took a direct hit from several tornadoes including at least two that have been classified as EF3. I let the dogs out before going to bed and being almost 50 miles from ground zero, the lightening show looked the finale in the original Ghostbusters. Talking to a co-worker this morning who lives in the area of the storms said it went on for 45 minutes. Amazingly only one person died in the storms. State Patrol closed down I-75 for Dayton to use snow plows to remove the debris from the highway.
  11. Went to a local toy show and bought the Funko Pops Addams Family (including Gomez w/ the sword and the black & white Gomez and Morticia)
  12. Like I need another project but it appears complete with all the custom pieces (missing the center console).....
  13. I think my city does that with potholes as they seem to reappear after the next rain
  14. The Russian judge only gave a 5.5 for not sticking the landing....
  15. RIP Barnacle Boy!
  16. Thanks to the perpetual road construction between home and Indianapolis, I was late for the open house at Greenlights corporate office. Managed to grab these for $20/each. The Yenko Camaro is missing a wiper......don't see anything damaged on the Trans am.
  17. Went to the Greenlights open house today. They had a food truck on site. This.....was.....awesome!!
  18. From the InterWeb yesterday: The pay gap at Citigroup, led by Michael Corbat since 2012, is the biggest among large U.S. banks. Corbat made $24.2 million last year, 486 times the median employee pay of $49,766. ...and companies wonder why they have high employee turnover.
  19. If you feel like a road trip, Greenlights (Northside of Indianapolis) is having their open house in a couple weeks (May 10th). Their warehouse sale is a great opportunity to get the ones that the local stores never get or end up as 'employee exclusives' (never make it to the store shelves). Their open 1/64 are usually $1 for plastic bottom and $2-3 for metal bases, 1/24 are $10, including trailers and 1/18 are $20. Last year I got the 1/18 Mad Max Ford Falcon for $20 (needs side mirrors) and a greenmachine trailer for $10 (needs back bumper)
  20. Dayton Cars & Coffee Fiat (owner wasn't around so don't know the model or year) Pao Honda Beat Nissan Figaro
  21. Twenty two years ago, I managed an office building that had a similar wood system, built in the days before sprinklers and fire walls. Easter morning, 4am-ish (remember it well as my oldest was just two days old!), it took a direct hit from lightning and burned until the newspaper carrier saw it an called it in. 6a I got the call. From a mile away I could see the lights from the aerial truck! The only things left of the second floor of the building was a Steelcase desk and a file cabinet....the rest wasn't ash.....it was soot! (it burned that hot!)
  22. In the six months after turning 25, I had to get glasses (the names and numbers on the back of the jerseys of the hockey team were getting smaller and blurry), had the wisdom teeth cut out (three impacted) and had my knee scoped (torn meniscus play tennis)....30, 35, 40, 45 and 50 have been a walk in the park!
  23. Blue Jackets won their first ever playoff series and to do it sweeping the President's Trophy winning Tampa Bay Lightning. Love Torts!! That man knows how to give a motivation speech. If you find one on-line from Game One that is unedited, don't play it work without headphones.
  24. I used to work with a guy who did everything his father did including when he was in the professional world (bought a Buick as his dad had one....carried a briefcase as his dad carried one). I want both my boys to blaze the own trail and follow what they want. I encouraged both both in sports (both played basketball and baseball) as you learn teamwork and just want them to try new things (we only had rec baseball when I was a kid). When my now 22 year old was playing basketball around 7 or 8 years old, they had enough players for three teams when he started but only one by seventh grade. My 12 year old played baseball against a team this weekend that the other team had ONLY nine players and one didn't show so they had to take the "L". My son was sign up #9 for his baseball team and they acquired a few more so not in danger of having to being short for a game. ...and it drives my wife nuts with some of the off handed comments, but I've told them both that athletes get the hot girls.
