  1. Feel like a road trip?  Carney comes to a toy show in Dayton, OH late January/early February.  They have show specials of 1/24 and 1/64 cases.  I think the 21 car case was less than $100 (at this past years show)

If you're looking to buy several more cases, you may be able to save enough $$ to make the trip worth it.  I won't know the show date until the November toy show.

  2. Rail cars (hauling cars) too tall for the bridge https://www.yahoo.com/autos/watch-freight-train-loaded-cars-151400617.html
  3. Willkommen an Bord! Humor me.....it's one of the few times I get the chance to use the German I took for two year back in high school Incredible paint finish on the '55 Ford!!
  4. Sincerest condolences to you and your family. I'm sure that was not easy to share but it's a great way to honor your son encouraging others to reach out. Jeff
  5. My oldest adopted a 11 week old Golden......Sadie
  6. Got an e-mail today from FedEx that my package was delivered....on August 21st! Um NO! I already contacted the seller and they issued the credit as it was showing 'pending' on FedEx tracker for ten days. The seller was only a four hour drive from my house!! Tracker shows it was delivered at the front door. It may have been (at least not my front door) but it went missing for almost three weeks so hopefully someone else enjoys it
  7. Nooooooooooooooo!!!!!! Lubys has filed for Chapter 7, which means Fuddruckers will be going away! While on vacation in Myrtle Beach last year, I would have off-roaded the rental car to get in there (fortunately the wife was driving). I teach the teenager the joys of clogging an artery and later a toilet but soon they will be gone......
  8. Beauty (2005 Gallardo w/ 15,000 miles coming to the gas station) and the Beast (blown w/ nitrous) about a mile apart......
  9. When I worked part time at Dick's Sporting Goods, that was my only complaint. Things would get moved and no notice. I'm old school and appreciate customer service so I hated having a customer asking for something in team sports and I would walk them to where it was yesterday afternoon when I worked. Today it's two aisles over and on an end cap.
  10. I would like to see the MPC Off Road version make an appearance.....
  11. Just burned the $25 coupon on eBay on a pair of these.....(one for me and one for the teenager)
  12. The Cincinnati Reds were letter the Big Red Machine slowly slip away after back to back World series titles when they traded for Tom the following year. They didn't give up that much for a pitcher of his quality. The local news was replaying his post game interview of his no hitter. Gotta love his unemotional statement of going out to go get another one. A major accomplishment, but remained humble (in comparison to today's athletes) and not on a pedestal "everyone stop and look at me" RIP #41
  13. I bought the pre-assembled model as it comes in dark red or blue, but the kit comes only in the dark red. I don't need to drop $20 on the model for the wheels and axles separated but I do feel like I'm being outwitted by the situation. I will have to grab a pair of the Gorilla gloves as the rims are hard to get much leverage on.
  14. There's a yellow one in that batch which is a limited color (Accelerate Yellow) on the 1:1 version. The second wave has the charcoal gray w/ black stripes
  15. The city is looking to expand the street by taking 18 inches off the property on both sides of the street, reducing the space between the sidewalk and the street. Since this is for the 'public good' isn't the city required to pay for the property?
  16. I'm looking to do minor detailing of the Maisto NSX diecast. I wanted the blue (assembled) version instead of the maroon kit but cannot get the rims off the axle. I checked YouTube but the only video is another brand and the rim pops off the metal axle much easier than what I'm experiencing. The spokes are thin so I'm concerned about trashing using tools to pull them..... Any suggestions?
  17. Checked another local Ollies....no 48 Fords or Suburbans there. About a dozen BRR's and stage coach kits. Handful of the Testors 58 Impala die cast convertibles.
  18. Key Lime Shrimp Burrito with Pico De Gallo and extra sharp Cheddar cheese (hand shredded ...no bagged stuff) I'm fat for a reason! My boys are spoiled as a youth, my mom owned her owned her own beauty shop so she worked Saturdays. My Saturday lunch was can of Chef Boyardee as my father could burn a salad. I like to cook and would be even fatter if I did it full time. My mom was a great cook.....never measured anything and it came out the same every time!
  19. Got a text tonight from one of my closest & dearest friends (her mom thought we would get married) that her daughter got engaged tonight. Very happy for her, but then I remember when visiting her in the hospital when her daughter was born and I told her that means we're getting old!
  20. I bought this in a group of built street cars. I don't follow NASCAR closely but don't recall this version of the Ford Fusion being kitted.
  21. Grabbed a couple of the Suburbans. No 48 Fords. The only die cast they had was the pagani huayra @ $12.99
  22. My sons wanted to know where the door handle was on the 2020 Corvette. I presume it was part of the door vent but I told him to ask the gentleman who owns it. The guy went over and opened the door to show him....then asked if the 13 year old (both my sons are above the norm on the growth chart....my oldest is 6'5") if wanted to get behind the wheel. Then the owner fired it up. I passed on the opportunity as I didn't to have to crawl out of it. I got behind the wheel of a Mercedes AMG GT and thought the dealership was going to need the Jaws of Life to get me out as my knees wouldn't bend enough to get out.
  23. One of my furry foursome. Brian Griffin (the teenager named him!) looked like one of his K9 teeth had broken off so made an appointment to get his teeth cleaned. He had two chips (neither current when I adopted him) and the big guy had little if any care before he came here four years ago. Three beds, two cushions on the couch and a chair...he picks the smallest bed as apparently the pain meds were working well. He did have two teeth extracted (K9 tooth was broken off when I first met him and vet said it's not any worse). No chew toys for three weeks. Seriously? He is a nine year old 'puppy'! As long as he's happy and healthy....
