There's one not far from my office so I could stop by when they had the 40% sales. I rarely made it a point to go when they had just the coupon as someone likely bought the entire stock of one kit that I wanted. When I bought a kit, it was usually accompanied by a couple cans of paint and an 'oh that's new' 1/64 die cast or two. Low quantity in stock....priced above the market.....one check out line open......isn't that the same game plan Toys R Us followed to the grave?

But did you know that long-available option is about to disappear? The chain store is about to take a pair of scissors to the option, saying it’s doing away with the popular promotion that has allowed customers to hold out their cellphones at checkout for a quick scan and a big discount on everything from wall art to party supplies. “By making this decision, we are intensifying our efforts to discount thousands of items every day,” Hobby Lobby said in a statement. “This will offer a better value instead of providing a discount on only one item with the coupon.” So when does the coupon expire? Hobby Lobby said it will honor the promotion through Feb. 28.

Especially property taxes! The county I live in jumped about 15% across the board. A neighboring county had a similar jump and when questioned, they admitted the state pushed them to increase it. I do commercial leasing across the country and landlord's are complaining about absolutely huge jumps that, per the lease, gets passed along to the tenants but at some point they know tenants will start shutting the doors. And if they improve their property, the value goes up even more so they are further punished by more taxes.

My teenager was complaining that his school is teaching him how to write an e-mail. PLEASE someone teach people the difference between 'reply' and 'reply to all'!! I've marked all the e-mails from our church as SPAM as the last Saturday of the month is a work around the church day and the person that heads it up sends out an e-mail to solicit help. One person 'replies to all' their ailment of the month in graphic detail (only missing pictures)...WAY too much information. Another person 'replies to all' their weekend itinerary that includes the visit from their first cousin, twice removed whom they haven't seen since last big snowfall right after they left the last remaining Golden Corral, etc. Again....TMI! At work, I get about a hundred e-mails a day. When someone has a birthday or work anniversary, their manager sends out a notification. Everyone on he floor hits the 'reply to all' to wish that person a happy whatever.....that should add about 30% to the e-mail totals for the day.

Back when players could hit a home run and not do the bat flip, stand their pompously watch it or taunt the other team around the bases....... RIP Hammerin' Hank

A-10...the Warthog. When I was in grade school, GE made the engines for these so the military did a low, slow flyover. For a young male, it was incredible. Last summer, I was listening to Bob & Tom and there was to be a tribute to the healthcare providers with a flyover by A-10's. I took my teenager and we made the two hour drive. It's impressive to see one, let alone four in formation. Where else can you see such a thing and not be their target! As quiet as they are, you're likely toast by the time you can see or hear them approaching

An e-mail from my teenager's school..... Ohio recently passed a law allowing community members without a Bachelor's degree to substitute teach for the remainder of this school year. Seriously....a pulse is a qualification to substitute teach? Just for a laugh I clicked on the link and there is about 20 local schools. I joked with the family I'm disqualified as I have two Bachelor's. The wife said I would last about an hour.....my son had less faith and gave me 30 minutes. I lack that filter between the brain and mouth.

Congratulations!! My mom passed six months after they hit their 50th anniversary. I made Dad put it in Mom's obit as it's not an easy accomplishment

Two of my foursome are on a Glucosamine supplement. Turner is almost 12 and (per the Xray) the ball never fully developed in his hind hips so he's always had issues and this has helped him tremendously. I've been on it for 20 plus years after a recommendation from a former NFL player turned trainer.

When posting pics on your store's Facebook page, pay attention to your background! Both of the following are 'toy/collectible' stores Store #1....picture of individual items but took the pic on the register counter, but also in the shot is the notebook showing a column of 'sell price' and 'cost to buy'. Oops! Store #2....either they drove a few miles away to purchase an item for $12 at Bargain Hunt or gave the seller around $6 and priced it on their page for $28. Come on, like the people that sell the kits hoarded from Ollie's at least pull the store tag.
