  1. Since Thursday, the forecasters have been saying the next round starts Sunday evening and will dump another ten inches by the time it stops Tuesday morning. Wife tried to stop at Kroger's this a.m. to grab lunch before she started her 12 hour shift, but the herd had already stampeded in for milk and TP.
  2. Sorta like Les Nessman of WKRP in Cincinnati. Andy Travis : Now, you have this thing you call "Eyewitness Weather". What is that? Les Nessman : Well, I just look out the window and witness the weather.
  3. February 5th National Weatherperson Day Local TV stations were encouraging viewers to post on the FB page how much they appreciate them February 9th The 1 to 3" of snow forecasted for last night/this morning finished at 7 to 10" I want to grow up and be a weatherperson where accuracy means nothing. One of the local morning radio shows used to comment about one of the attractive female weather forecasters, "if you're going to give me complete inaccuracy, at least give me something to look at".
  4. My favorite Mopar..... I have the Sublime Green one too....somewhere.
  5. Turner....originally named Leo. 12 year old Jack Russell/Sheltie mix. He knows thunder follows lightning so there are no flash photographs of him. Rescue named him Turner as he spins around when you are getting his food ready. Bear.....originally named Hugbug. 10 year old Pekingese/Border Collie. Major daddy's girl. She has her own pillow between the wife and I on the bed. I wanted to name her Dora as she 'explored' the entire room at the meet-n-greet ignoring us and the cat in the cage in the middle of the room. Brian.....shelter named him Harvey. 10 year old Husky/Aussie. Picked him up on the way home from the CARS show almost five years ago. Teenager named him Brian Griffin (from Family Guy). Jamie.....10 year old tri-red Australian Shepherd. May be in the witness protection program as she disappears if you pull out your phone to get a pic. I want one of her when I come home (even just switching cars around) as she sits in my walking path with the big grin "shall I kill for you today master?" She was fostered with a deaf dog so she knows several commands in sign language. All are rescues! Sadie.....granddog Golden Retriever.....roughly about 8 months old now.
  6. A hair cut. Working remotely at least through the end of March so it hasn't been a priority. I tipped at 50% as the floor looked like what it looks like after the groomer buzzes my husky/aussie mix. Came home and shaved the beard back to a goatee.
  7. Is the Early Iron edition the only version with a non-louvered hood?
  8. Was there ever a model of an American phone booth? For the younger folks in the crowd, this is where us old farts went to make a call in a public place. A friend has 1/6 scale Bill & Ted so it needs to be about 15" tall.
  9. Set up the sniper rifle... Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow......BLAM.....next thing/last thing he sees is the muzzle flash
  10. ...and to cover their butts, the 'free shipping' is noted it would take up to 12 days! It's coming via FedEx so I will hear it land on the porch when the driver takes the shot from behind the three point line....
  11. Didn't really expect to see one in the stores and I refuse to pay the eBay scalpers......
  12. Notta big fan of the Pagani, but in Ferrari red I couldn't pass it up (1/24)
  13. Parts box of built miscellaneous trucks.... Found at the bottom of the box.....AMT Chevy 1500 SS 454 (stock wheels not used) and the AMT Ford Lightning (not the current release as it has the correct tailgate...haven't found the drivers side headlight lens yet)
  14. I'm showing my age on this one! I had a professor in college that gave me a "D" in a marketing class as he was able to prove why Coca Cola was right to change their hundred year old formula to compete again Pepsi. How did that work for Coke outside the classroom....aka the real world? Nice work BTW!
  15. Free shipping through the end of the month in stock merch. Pickin's are slim but I did finally get a Revell Chevy Luv
  16. The store closest to me...... See the hair on that lady there? I'm looking for that color of blue!
  17. Madame Defarge in History of the World, Part I Let us end this meeting on a high note........Eeeeeeeeee!!
  18. RIP Frau Blucher (Young Frankenstein)
  19. There's one not far from my office so I could stop by when they had the 40% sales. I rarely made it a point to go when they had just the coupon as someone likely bought the entire stock of one kit that I wanted. When I bought a kit, it was usually accompanied by a couple cans of paint and an 'oh that's new' 1/64 die cast or two. Low quantity in stock....priced above the market.....one check out line open......isn't that the same game plan Toys R Us followed to the grave?
  20. It's official...... MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - If you’re a fan of crafts and coupons, you’ll probably not be shocked to hear that Hobby Lobby has an option that will save you 40 percent on a single item at the register. But did you know that long-available option is about to disappear? The chain store is about to take a pair of scissors to the option, saying it’s doing away with the popular promotion that has allowed customers to hold out their cellphones at checkout for a quick scan and a big discount on everything from wall art to party supplies. “By making this decision, we are intensifying our efforts to discount thousands of items every day,” Hobby Lobby said in a statement. “This will offer a better value instead of providing a discount on only one item with the coupon.” So when does the coupon expire? Hobby Lobby said it will honor the promotion through Feb. 28.
  21. Especially property taxes! The county I live in jumped about 15% across the board. A neighboring county had a similar jump and when questioned, they admitted the state pushed them to increase it. I do commercial leasing across the country and landlord's are complaining about absolutely huge jumps that, per the lease, gets passed along to the tenants but at some point they know tenants will start shutting the doors. And if they improve their property, the value goes up even more so they are further punished by more taxes.
  22. Just waiting for the Grumpy Vega to get back in stock.....(not that I don't have hundreds of other kits to amuse myself!)
  23. My teenager was complaining that his school is teaching him how to write an e-mail. PLEASE someone teach people the difference between 'reply' and 'reply to all'!! I've marked all the e-mails from our church as SPAM as the last Saturday of the month is a work around the church day and the person that heads it up sends out an e-mail to solicit help. One person 'replies to all' their ailment of the month in graphic detail (only missing pictures)...WAY too much information. Another person 'replies to all' their weekend itinerary that includes the visit from their first cousin, twice removed whom they haven't seen since last big snowfall right after they left the last remaining Golden Corral, etc. Again....TMI! At work, I get about a hundred e-mails a day. When someone has a birthday or work anniversary, their manager sends out a notification. Everyone on he floor hits the 'reply to all' to wish that person a happy whatever.....that should add about 30% to the e-mail totals for the day.
  24. Back when players could hit a home run and not do the bat flip, stand their pompously watch it or taunt the other team around the bases....... RIP Hammerin' Hank
