  1. My father got a post card from the bottom feeder "Doctor" that would come to the nursing home to charge $50/person to cut their toe nails. Dad passed FOUR years ago. The record stands with my former home's owner who was getting solicitations for $$ ten years after she passed. I would send things back she moved a new address and gave them the address to the cemetery.
  2. I'm only going to look.....I'm only going to look....I'm only going to look Yeah that didn't work. Auction stuff too mice to pass up. Averaged out about $36/each with shipping Jo-han - all open but complete Middle pic - open but complete Matador & Bad Actor - still sealed Sorry for the sideways pic....Phone is sending all pics that way.
  3. The County Outdoor Warning sirens were temporarily activated this morning (around 9a) as a result of an operator error during routine training. The sirens were briefly activated for several seconds this morning before being canceled. Even the local news had no idea what was going and it took 20 minutes before even they found out it was an error. Good system but I would think the system would have higher security than "hit that red button on the console". And they wonder why people ignore warnings.....
  4. Weekend toy show finds...... Jo-Han Cadillac....driver's side A column small crease, but otherwise good condition/complete. Seller also had a 64 Cadillac hardtop sealed but passed as I already have one A-Team van.....open/complete but the glass has yellowed. Box is trash
  5. I'm running out of room in the man cave but I'm such a fan of the AMX, I couldn't pass up the pair at a toy show this weekend. Maroon one is missing a driver's side mirror......Teal one is spotless.
  6. I bought two kits from Freetime Hobbies a couple years ago and the seals had been broken on one of them (internal bags opened too). I reached out and got an e-mail it was the last one they had and I could return it so I would pay for the return shipping for them selling an open kit at full price. That was my first and last order from them! I returned a broken POPS protector case to Hobby Lobby as one couldn't tell the lid was damaged until the shrink wrap was removed. A couple weeks later I stopped in and they put it as-is back on the shelf (at regular price).
  7. For $3, I couldn't pass it up. Appears to be sealed/complete inside
  8. When the husky mix gives you a 'nope!' on going out to recycle and curls up like this, even he's had enough of the snow and cold
  9. I got back into it 25 years ago when my oldest was born but it tailed off when Hot Wheels started making weirder and weirder designs. I am a fan of Matchbox but it's a shame that all the major retailers around here stock very little of them. I have M2's and Greenlight's as well. I don't 'collect' but buy 1) what I would own in 1:1 2) to customize 3) know we'll never see in 1/24 or 1/25 kit form
  10. One of the local Hobby Lobby's has a better stock than the others so hit it this a.m. and grabbed the entire stock (both) of the Coca-Cola Volkswagen and the Maisto C7 Grand Sport. I have a couple other editions of the VW but it's personal. My dad brought a 1962 back from Germany when he was discharged from the AirForce. It was his baby. Dad's been gone coming up on four years, but as his dementia got worse, he had bought a 1972 VW a few years earlier so I took the tags off it and let him drive it around the back yard at his house......otherwise I knew I would get a call in the middle of the night from the Detroit police that my father had driven up there and had no clue how to get home. The Corvette was an impulse thing as several of the Maisto kits come out really nice with some detailing. (HL had six of those kits) The Weird-Oh's Digger was from a thrift store that I stumbled on while in the store looking for stuffy's for my son's dog as she is a Golden puppy and has a tendency to de-stuff them fairly quickly.
  11. Since Thursday, the forecasters have been saying the next round starts Sunday evening and will dump another ten inches by the time it stops Tuesday morning. Wife tried to stop at Kroger's this a.m. to grab lunch before she started her 12 hour shift, but the herd had already stampeded in for milk and TP.
  12. Sorta like Les Nessman of WKRP in Cincinnati. Andy Travis : Now, you have this thing you call "Eyewitness Weather". What is that? Les Nessman : Well, I just look out the window and witness the weather.
  13. February 5th National Weatherperson Day Local TV stations were encouraging viewers to post on the FB page how much they appreciate them February 9th The 1 to 3" of snow forecasted for last night/this morning finished at 7 to 10" I want to grow up and be a weatherperson where accuracy means nothing. One of the local morning radio shows used to comment about one of the attractive female weather forecasters, "if you're going to give me complete inaccuracy, at least give me something to look at".
  14. My favorite Mopar..... I have the Sublime Green one too....somewhere.
  15. Turner....originally named Leo. 12 year old Jack Russell/Sheltie mix. He knows thunder follows lightning so there are no flash photographs of him. Rescue named him Turner as he spins around when you are getting his food ready. Bear.....originally named Hugbug. 10 year old Pekingese/Border Collie. Major daddy's girl. She has her own pillow between the wife and I on the bed. I wanted to name her Dora as she 'explored' the entire room at the meet-n-greet ignoring us and the cat in the cage in the middle of the room. Brian.....shelter named him Harvey. 10 year old Husky/Aussie. Picked him up on the way home from the CARS show almost five years ago. Teenager named him Brian Griffin (from Family Guy). Jamie.....10 year old tri-red Australian Shepherd. May be in the witness protection program as she disappears if you pull out your phone to get a pic. I want one of her when I come home (even just switching cars around) as she sits in my walking path with the big grin "shall I kill for you today master?" She was fostered with a deaf dog so she knows several commands in sign language. All are rescues! Sadie.....granddog Golden Retriever.....roughly about 8 months old now.
  16. A hair cut. Working remotely at least through the end of March so it hasn't been a priority. I tipped at 50% as the floor looked like what it looks like after the groomer buzzes my husky/aussie mix. Came home and shaved the beard back to a goatee.
  17. Is the Early Iron edition the only version with a non-louvered hood?
  18. Was there ever a model of an American phone booth? For the younger folks in the crowd, this is where us old farts went to make a call in a public place. A friend has 1/6 scale Bill & Ted so it needs to be about 15" tall.
  19. Set up the sniper rifle... Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow......BLAM.....next thing/last thing he sees is the muzzle flash
  20. ...and to cover their butts, the 'free shipping' is noted it would take up to 12 days! It's coming via FedEx so I will hear it land on the porch when the driver takes the shot from behind the three point line....
  21. Didn't really expect to see one in the stores and I refuse to pay the eBay scalpers......
  22. Notta big fan of the Pagani, but in Ferrari red I couldn't pass it up (1/24)
  23. Parts box of built miscellaneous trucks.... Found at the bottom of the box.....AMT Chevy 1500 SS 454 (stock wheels not used) and the AMT Ford Lightning (not the current release as it has the correct tailgate...haven't found the drivers side headlight lens yet)
  24. I'm showing my age on this one! I had a professor in college that gave me a "D" in a marketing class as he was able to prove why Coca Cola was right to change their hundred year old formula to compete again Pepsi. How did that work for Coke outside the classroom....aka the real world? Nice work BTW!
