  1. I made a Hobby Lobby run yesterday and grabbed the same two kits as Tom This came today.....open but sealed inside. Will raid the 70 Camaro for the rallye wheels
  2. Open but complete.....not seeing this one on the re-issue horizon
  3. I like the odd and different...... 1/18 Citroen
  4. I've bought broken 1/18 die cast and used the parts to complete another broken model. I've never been detail oriented so not sure if there is any photo etched scripts and badges out there for this scale.
  5. At least they strapped them down......
  6. From yesterday's toy show...... $5 for the Chevy Truck promo $80 for the Chrysler (sealed) and the Eldorado (complete)
  7. Good weekend so far.... Yesterday Went to an area toy show. Couple good finds (will post later). I gotten into the Funko characters, but won't pay the insane $$ that some people will spend on these. I finally got the Pops made for the benefit of the devastating fires in Australia. The humane society was less than two miles from the show so I stopped there and dropped off a huge box of towels and blankets as well as two small pet carriers (I frequent thrift stores and grab these for this exact reason). Today 23rd wedding anniversary. Wife injured her back collapsing the inflatable side pool so not doing anything special. Being a nurse she isn't big on going out especially the county has had a serious uptick in Covid cases.
  8. The Call of the Wild and White Fang by Jack London. It was one of the few books on the reading list that I had an interest in. I was not a big reader as a kid, hated it actually...probably because I have the attention span of a goldfish. Ironically I grew up and now read sixty page commercial leases all day, everyday.
  9. I bought a couple of the Moebius late 60 F100's
  10. A roughly $200 million residential development in Oakley (N of Cincinnati) has started with the demolition of vacant industrial buildings. Three Oaks, a 30-acre development that will transform a portion of the neighborhood, has begun with the demolition of the 800,000-square-foot former Kenner Toy factory, which will include a mix of single-family homes, apartments and senior housing. Three Oaks will be used as an example on how to enhance an existing neighborhood and community by adding a pedestrian-friendly approach for amenities within walking distance......Three Oaks will replace an abandoned industrial site “with a thriving, urban, pedestrian area.”
  11. Denver Broncos had 1,800 'fans' from South Park in attendance today!
  12. Proper term is 'foster failure'......and congratulations for joining that club! The pet food pantry (closed a few years ago)/dog rescue (currently winding down operations) I worked with in the past fostered all the dogs they picked up from shelters. I said I could never be one of their fosters as one you are in my house, it's their furever home!
  13. Coors gave free samples.....the Mint was not amused when I asked for the same
  14. I appreciate the dark side humor!!
  15. From the last of the season local cars and coffee...... This is the only way I care to see one of these! (not in the rear view mirror with the light show going on!
  16. About 20 years ago, I had to go to Denver for business so the nerd in me wanted to go to the mint. As part of the tour, the guide asked how many people have spare change laying in a drawer, car console, etc. and of course everyone raised their hands. He went on to say if everyone in the country put that back into circulation at one time, they would have to shut down the mint for three years.
  17. I try to avoid to 'live' line for many reasons: Cashier that feels the need to discuss with you every item you are purchasing Cashier that gives your $0.90 in change as all dimes as they never mastered that quarters/dimes/nickels breakdown Cashier that asks if you want to sign up for a credit card, join the shoppers club, donate to the store's cause, etc...... Get behind the shopper who is digging for the $0.10 off coupon Get behind the shopper that feels the need to explain to the cashier how Colon Blow 3000 has changed their life Thanks for bagging the rotisserie chicken with the ice cream and stick butter As for the one that goes digging for their payment source, the wife gets embarrassed as I frequently express my surprise that we weren't shopping on free grocery day!
  18. If you dated or were a personal acquaintance with the person featured on US Currency, you should not be permitted to use the self check out at the store! Seriously, I was at WM this morning and there was an elderly lady elbow deep in her purse digging for pennies to put into the machine. Meanwhile, the other seven machines had customers come and go (in some cases twice)! I've been eligible to join AARP myself for half a decade now, but if I'm using cash I may put in something close but certainly not performing a deep excavation for that last few cents.
  19. Anyone bought a car on-line (other than eBay)? I had to replace mine recently and went to the local CarMax lot. I was looking at the Chrysler 300S and all the cars on the lot looked like they took a shortcut through the shrubs and badly scratched on both sides! I can buy on-line and get it shipped to the local CarMax but their version of great condition and mine didn't line up. Left there and went to a local, well respected dealership (whom I've bought from before) to look at a 300S in bright blue, again in 'excellent condition' per their on-line website. Apparently the previous owners were the Duke boys as there was a huge dent in the rocker panel that it cause the front drivers side vendor to bow outward.
  20. I know that I will never find all three in stores unless they look like they've been punted from the store room to the shelf out front......
  21. According to the off brand Yellow Pages that was tossed on the porch Friday, there are still FIVE Toys-R-Us in the area....... In the words of Homer Simpson....."they have the Internet on computers now!" Who uses a phone book?
  22. Feel like a road trip?  Carney comes to a toy show in Dayton, OH late January/early February.  They have show specials of 1/24 and 1/64 cases.  I think the 21 car case was less than $100 (at this past years show)

If you're looking to buy several more cases, you may be able to save enough $$ to make the trip worth it.  I won't know the show date until the November toy show.
