  1. Okey shows up at shows sporadically. He has a couple resin kits and some unassembled promos, but otherwise mostly Jo-Han parts bin (tail lights, tires and a few hoods)
  2. I went on their website last night around 5p Eastern time looking for the AutoCar dump truck (local stores stock of one each was gone) as they were offering free shipping over $50. They were not offering the 40% off on models? Oh well....I can wait a couple more weeks for the in store sale and stock to be replenished.
  3. Intentional duplicates (to build variations)......MPC Jeep, P/L VW Bug, AMT Challenger Unintentional duplicates......Tamiya RX-7, AMT Ranger Splash
  4. My oldest got his BS in Infomatics today......Bittersweet I'm an only child and my mom wanted grandchildren. She would have loved every minute of the graduation ceremony but she passed unexpectedly of a stroke 12 years ago this Memorial Day weekend. My youngest is a high school freshman next year so the wife and I will be doing this again in eight years.....hopefully just eight.
  5. FedEx left a package on my porch yesterday that had a non-existent house number and name of no one at my house. (the non matching address of my house is on the side of the mailbox below where the driver left it!) I thought maybe the shipper transposed numbers but no one of that name on the street (or they are rents so cant find through the Auditor's website. I tried to go through the FedEx website but it wouldn't take my info so I had to call. On the third try (the first two times the automated system said I cant change the tracking number as I was not the shipper), I finally got a lady that was, well, not these shores. I told her their driver left the package and the wrong address and she said she would contact the driver to pick it up. She asked where the package would be and I told her on the front porch where he originally left it. I omitted that I placed it there like Ace Ventura Pet Detective did. (That is usually how I know I hear a package delivered to my porch....from well outside the three point line). They picked it up some time late this afternoon.
  6. Stopped by one of the HL's this a.m......they might want to have a chat with their marketing person about killing off the 40% coupon and new pricing structure. Frequently when down the model aisle, I check out the die cast and something else comes home with me as well. 1/64 Johnny Lightning and M2's are now $13! I can go across the street and grab them for $6 - $7/each at Wal-Mart, Target or Meijer. Funko POPS are $13.....$9 at WalMart or $11 from Funko's website for the exact same ones! Next step will be major shrinkage of the whole aisle to a four foot section (like the local Michael's) and blaming consumers no longer purchasing these items
  7. From Yahoo's Home Page.... Disney’s problematic princess: why Snow White is forever being cancelled It's because of the non-consensual kiss of the Prince to Show White. My guess was they were lobbying to change it to Snow White and the Seven Vertically Challenged.
  8. Rocky & Bullwinkle Underdog Dudley Do-Right Tennessee Tuxedo and Chumley Mr Peabody & Sherman Woody Woodpecker Flintstones The Jetsons
  9. Only model purchase from the Dayton toy show Sunday...... It' s missing the rims and apparently the intake system, but it was $10
  10. Didn't know there was one in my area......
  11. From the Dayton Toy show yesterday........ 1/18 Aston Martins
  12. As I told both my sons, the best recipes were made when someone experimented. My soon to be college graduate can cook and the teenager is just starting to get into it
  13. 1/18 Maisto Lamboghini Urus and Hot Wheels Cadillac XLR
  14. 1978 four door Ford Fairmont. Dad wanted me to learn a stick but it was three-on-the-tree of a four door 1964 Ford Falcon. I always had a hard time with the hand over hand feeding the wheel back after a turn but on the driver's ed road test I nailed it. However (!) I'm about half way through the tes when I had an Oh S&^% moment and realized I didn't have my seat belt on. There is no smooth way to grab/fasten it at that point so I continued on like nothing was wrong. I passed but to this day still recall that moment.
  15. You knew Motor Max had to recoup the investment of the Jeep pick up from the F&F series so they made factory stock versions......
  16. Made by Husky (VW pick up conveyor)
  17. The ladder truck brought back images of this. Had one as a kid and I likely still have it buried......somewhere in the man cave
  18. Never saw one.....never knew it existed. As i walked up to it, the you could smell the beautiful leather interior so I presumed it was British, but had to go out to the ole InterWeb for the rest.....
  19. Why? Just wait until later this year when Round2 has another 'look what we found moment' and re-issues it but with better decals and pad printed tires....and cheaper! (No I don't have insider info....its just the way it seems to work) Seriously I wanted the Chevy Luv kit. Years went by and I found two at a toy show had a built white one with a cap and an orange one with the step side bed. I went for the standard bed......a year later Revell reissues it!
  20. The Cincinnati Reds game was postponed last night in the eighth inning due to sleet. The local TV weather forecasters said up to an inch.....we got THREE! Enough already. It was 60 degrees yesterday afternoon. Three of the dogs gave a serious "what is this???" when I let them out this a.m. Brian? Doggie Snow Angels!!!!
  21. Only wanted one but it was a two-fer auction. Factory sealed
  22. It varies.....glue bombs, vintage stuff, parts kits, etc. I don't recall ever seeing a vendor there with current kits. There are two vendors that are there almost every time with current Matchbox (the retail selection around here is non-existent) and current Greenlight/M2's......both at sell at regular retail prices.
  23. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a shortage on salt for pool filters as well. Due to the pandemic, salt supplies were already low so some of local news stations had hardware places telling folks to check their pool supply house as its the same stuff just ground finer.
  24. Make the road trip to the South Louisville Antique & Toy Mall....about a 90 minute drive from Columbia. Not a bunch of models, but such a wide selection of various items I've never left empty handed.
