My son is going to Lake Erie with the school's fishing club. Considered renting a car until the reservation page had their cheapest ride (Mitsubishi Mirage) at $100/day, even booking it a week ahead of time. Seriously?

Our neighbor two doors down and I have a pact.....if one catches the other mowing the grass in black socks and sandals, sniper rifle and head shot! My dad passed away four years ago from dementia. My oldest son just graduated college (BA) debt free and the other son starts high school in the fall. There is a magnum of champagne in the downstairs fridge when the younger one is out of the local school system (it's not him....it's the new way of learning that I just don't understand). I'm also stepdad to four furry ones who are currently crashed in the living room snoring as the doggie Xanax only does so much to help them get through the storms of last night.

Go over to the office supplies aisle and grab a blue marker......underline the misspelling like their phone does for them.

Sorry Hot Wheels......not seeing the point of this

Nope......there was a whole other paragraph on that as well! -

Better known as Herbert Ruggles Tarlek, the sales manager for WKRP in Cincinnati. "Somewhere out there, there's a Volkswagen with no seats."

I went out to Ollie's website and filled on their survey and told them the stuff that happened at my local stores. Surprisingly I got a call from the area manager who blamed it on shipping issues/staffing issues at the warehouse and that they track any pre-sales to prevent stuff not being available. I said that isn't happening as the one pic I posted was taken at the store opening the day the sale started. She said it's the Amazon sellers that are hoarding them and they try to limit them to no more than half a case (yeah, that's not happening either). The second store had nothing and when I asked the clerk she admitted to pulling some for her dad but he didn't want the one rig (I told her I would take it). I said the Camaro and Escalades linger for months after the add and this time there wasn't even an empty box. I invited her to visit this forum subject to see how widespread it is. Point blank, I wanted one of each on the cars as I have a teenager that I actually talked into attending the local model car club meeting (he seemed to be into it!) He is learning airbrushing so at $10/each, I will get him several kits to experiment on.

A couple years ago, I bought a handful of built models at a local auction. It's nice combination of drag cars, stock cars (including a first gen Ford Fusion COT stock car) and police cars. Most of the drag cars have been traded off/sold but still have a few. Looking the police cars, I'm going to turn the 74 Impala back into a regular coupe as will the 71 Cyclone (need to get stock seats as the builder user low back bucket racing seats?). The 76 LTD will be converted back to a street version of the last new car my grandparents bought. The 56 Buick is a resin, no glass...I wonder if it was cast off the Maisto kit? I believe the 74 Chevrolet sedan is a Modelhaus release. No clue on the four door Mopar. There's another half dozen 70 Ford Galaxie patrol cars not pictured here.

"Holy Grail" Models?
HomerS replied to Billy Kingsley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I was never a 'group hug' kinda kid but I did have a favorite uncle who lived in Florida. I remember Uncle Buddy (real name was August) took us on a neighborhood tour in his Bonneville. It was virtually the same as the promo as shown except had the rally wheels. Buddy was good for driving it like he stole it. -
My thoughts and prayers are with you as my father had dementia. You never knew what his demeanor would be when you opened that door. His best episode was he was convinced people were breaking into the house as they were leaving things. Um no burglars dont do that dad so I told him to call the police....and he did. Expletive!! We only lived about half a mile apart but had to leave work early and go talk with the officers.

They continue to 'tweak' the model section on their website....and not in a good way. They used to have the Coca Cola model of the Cameo truck or the VW Bug, but if you order on line you had to call them and tell them which one you wanted. (Sorta defeats the purpose of doing it on-line). Now, it appears to be whatever they have an abundance of or easiest to grab when filling your order..... While you may want the Supernatural Impala, they grab the Galaxie police car or the Bond Mustang..... The picture of the larger scale 1/16 '55 Bel Air convertible, you may get the Trans Am..... Ford Lightning.....you may get the '53 F100

The local high school gym, there is a sizable advertisement near the score board for the local plumber that offers 'high presure water jetting'. As a solid "C" student in English my entire life, it's that noticeable.

Kinda depends on what it was. Mine was a well used/abused 73 Duster which except for the indestructible slant six was a POS. Second one not much better (72 one owner two door Mercury Comet). Third one was the first one after college.....84 Dodge Rampage. Currently not running but having the hard time parting with it. Blew two timing belts (cheap plastic belt). No internal damage but clearly went low budget on that engine (2.2L)

When my mother owned a beauty shop, she would read them daily to see if anyone wasn't keeping their appointment that day

I've not opened the VW kit but have build their 2004 GTO and the Ford GT. Lots of detail, especially for a snap kit. No flash not fit issues

No.....he said he parked specifically in that space so he didn't catch anything on fire. As for the Kei cars, there is a Honda Beat that attended in the past. I almost stopped at the other C&C show but from the highway clearly most of the cars had left. Pics on their Facebook page showed a new Ford GT came to that show

After going to a Cars & Coffee show, stopped by the Hobby Lobby not expecting much. Rarely ever see more than one or two of a kit, but grabbed all three of the PL Coca-Cola VW's. I want to do one my late father brought back from Germany after he got out of the Air Force and another he had that he tinkered with in my grade school years. I came close to pulling the trigger to buying the Auto World 76 Cadillac, but without the 40% off coupon I just can't pull the trigger on $10 for 1/64 car. I'll wait until it shows up at a mass retailer at $5-$6.

Company outing today to the Cincinnati Reds game. It was bad little league effort.......lost 19-4 !!!!! Payroll of $121M.....guess that explains the $22 for a beer and a pretzel
