  1. JoHan Turbine.....complete minus engine. The front suspension needs reglued Renwal Stutz.....builder got a bit glue happy, but complete
  2. They are still in business but far fewer stores than just a few years ago. They morphed it to a franchise system (aka buying yourself a job). For a laugh I went out to their website......check their spin on the benefits of being your own boss: Become a Franchise Partner with a $10,000 investment Earn 50% of restaurant profits Unlimited earning potential It is one of the cheaper franchise fees if you have the interest in owning own. What they DON'T share: Headaches of staffing (I cant imagine what a pain this is nowadays) You use the franchisor vendors of which they get a cut of the sale You use the franchisor software, again they get a fee for the Sales promotions come from your profit, not the fee paid the franchisor (ask a Subway owner about the $5 footlong promotion) Franchisee suffered in bad promotions (Jared from Subway, no Tuna in the Tuna sub) I managed a site in a previous life where there was a Subway. He owner about seven of them and made a good living but I'm too old to deal with all the BS he had to do.
  3. Kia Stinger......since only the drivers side front wheel was still on the road (the rest were down the slope on the side of the road with the rest of the car). Gonna go with its a RWD
  4. I'm in for the repop of the Dodge D-50
  5. I had a manager years ago that had a couple good sayings..... I'm not paranoid!! That is a vicious rumor started by people out to get me!!
  6. 1/18 Buick GS 400 Sorry for the bad pic......just got done resecuring it to the base. Likely to get unboxed when the clear case goes up
  7. Had to get the Covid before the knee scope later this week. The wife (who is a nurse) had to get one at a drive thru testing and I could not watch that elephant Q-tip disappear up her nose like a magic trick. She told me they don't use them anymore so I was less than thrilled when the lady pulled that thing out of a drawer. I hate when a bug flies up the nose so I knew this would be worse so I told her I'm putting my head against the wall before she rammed that Northward as I'm sure I will have a reflex. What is up the right nostril that isn't already up the left nostril?? She told me we were done, but I think the proper answer was "Tada!" when she pulled it out.
  8. Part of my finds..... Don't worry....there is a plan for the Prius (besides a left hand drive conversion) GT-R came with an extra set of wheels The AeroMax was a steal for $50
  9. Serious poker face.......I would fold!
  10. Goddaughter stopped by Halloween night just to say "hi". I had to tease her to ask if the Jeep she was driving was her idea or her dad's (he used to have one). Turns out it was he aunt's who needed a bigger vehicle but the young lady is driving a stick shift!! Well done young lady!!
  11. Yeah I don't think this was their intent when they said they would save the customers more money by getting rid of the coupon. I used to do the same thing with Greenlights and Auto World 1/64's as the coupon took it down to the WM prices next door.
  12. When they both go for the chair at the same time, they have to share........
  13. Confirmed.....bone chips in the knee.....scope scheduled for 11/9. Getting old sux....
  14. I'm mid 50's and when I hear a parent yell at their child using all three names, my butt still puckers!
  15. I've told both of my sons that there are rules and in some cases, laws, in place because of stuff I did at their age! I'm certainly not Ward Clever...not even close! I've taught them that you are judged by the company you keep. My oldest has seen one friend die of drugs, a couple that have been a 'guest of the state' for various offensives and others that are still living at home with their parents as they can't afford an apartment as they are in their mid 20's.
  16. Went to Sam's Club for a few things (two packs of lunch meat and one box of Ritz crackers). Grabbed a box from the bin on the way out to put everything in once in the parking lot. The girl scanning receipts scans one pack of lunch meat, the crackers and then the clearly EMPTY box of fruit pies which set the device into a frenzy as I didn't purchase any. Now she tries to clear it an locks up the device that as the line behind me builds and someone else has to come over to scan.
  17. Years ago, I managed a small retail in-line center that had a bar at the far end. The local mail carrier would stash the delivery vehicle in the dead end alley behind the bar.
  18. That's how I met most of my neighbors when I first bought my house......dropping off their mail delivered to my house. But when it's at the other end of the street or (oddly frequent) wrong street, I drop it in the mailroom at the office go they get a second chance. And even if you write on the envelope they delivered it to the wrong house, I've found that if you don't cross out the computer coding at the bottom, they get it wrong a second time.
  19. Garlic Butter Shrimp Scampi over udon noodles. I warned the teenager he'll be sweating the garlic out tomorrow.
  20. I was out of town and hit one of that areas nicer WM's....success! Grabbed two 64 Cutlass Convertibles and two of the GMC Jimmys. I grabbed the lone Penelope Pitstop kits. I needed one of the but it was 7:30a so the brain was still low on caffeine and couldn't recall which one I was missing (The Creepy Coupe is the one I need). They were on an end cap across the aisle from the toy department.
  21. I said the same thing about owning a mini van 'til we had the Nissan Quest (the unique design when Nissan had their CA studio doing them). The four wheel independent suspension and the same 3.5L as the Maxima made me change my mind!
  22. Zipfizz! I can't do some of the energy drinks as they set my heart on hummingbird (not good when I'm already on blood pressure meds) I cut my Mt Dew/Coke/Pepsi consumption as whatever they use as a sweetener any more is nasty
  23. I don't do needles. Endured years of allergy shots as a kid and avoid needles at all costs...until you can barely walk. Got the shot Monday afternoon. Dr whipped out the freeze spray and then stuck in the needle. I was able to walk out of the office. No exertion for several days and no alcohol for three days. Feels fine so long as I keep it propped up.
  24. Stopped in looking for the Cutlass kit to no avail but did grab this......
  25. Jacked up my knee.....don't even have a good 'hold my beer' story to go with it. After X-rays and an MRI, there are half a dozen bone chips. Talked with the Dr this a.m. and I can have it scoped or the cortizone shot. I'm opting for the less evasive procedure. I had it scoped 30 years ago after tearing the meniscus playing tennis. Apparently I was prepped by a nurse who was cheesed at her boyfriend/husband as my leg was dry shaved.....the razor burn hurt more than the incision sites. Getting old sucks.....
