  1. Duke Energy! Their folks in the field are some of the hardest workers but it ends there. I got an e-mail from them letting me know I can donate as little as $2/month to help them research a clean energy source. Fund your research so you an gouge me? And Unsubscribe! But the one that lit my fuse was their inspection of the lines at the gas meter. One day I have two ladies banging on the door like they were ready to yell 'search warrant' and storm the house. They said they needed to see my gas meter. Nope....no entry without an appointment or a warrant. I was working from home and was not happy they beat on the door. I've argued with Duke in the past and I told them there are multiple dogs in the house. They told me to crate them. No! It's their house to roam. They told me I can leave a door unlocked for their tech. Sure....just gonna need you to sign a waiver accepting liability if someone breaks in via the unlocked door as my insurance won't pay if I didn't lock the door. So I make an appointment to have the inspection a couple weeks out on a specific date and four hour window. Day/time comes and goes......no tech! He calls THREE HOURS later and admits he didn't see the requested time and wants to come. NO! I took the day off to accommodate them and they missed it. It was close to the rant of the German's bombing Pearl Harbor from Animal House. I told them I need compensation for burning a PTO day and they failed to show. I've been ignored (go figure). Now they threaten to shut off the gas unless its inspected.
  2. Walked past the Duster too many times and for $20, I caved. Needs mirrors and one wiper. I may have the wiper or something close in a parts bin in the man cave. I worked for a company that my boss had an XLR. Since the 'company' owned the car, my name was on the company insurance policy so I got to drive it. Another GM vehicle that had potential and plug pulled too soon.
  3. 25th wedding anniversary today! My mom was not a gambling person other than a very rare lottery ticket, but it wouldn't surprise me if I got a check from a casino that she bet I would never see this day. I'm an only child so have the attention span of a goldfish and maturity level of an eight year old.
  4. My oldest son is car searching and he found a decent deal on a used SUV at a dealership. In the total cost estimate, they tried to slip in 'Pulse Braking". He reached back to the salesman and said it flashes the high mounted stop light 4x in 1.2 seconds to better alert the driver behind you. $900!!! Hard no!!!! Found the part on eBay and Amazon.....less than $20.
  5. I missed seeing this one mentioned..... AMT-1334 1/25 1964 Mercury Comet Caliente Craftsman Plus Series $35.99 TBA
  6. Liked the Shelby for being an off color Don't recall seeing the delivery wagon before.....
  7. No words........ https://www.entertainmentearth.com/product/UTCSSO73044?&utm_source=eefacebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=product-20220906&utm_content=collectibles
  8. Last weeks swap meet Camaro...open but complete 90 C-1500...sealed (heard Round2 was reissuing but dont know which version so grabbed it) 72 Chevy pick up...sealed $18 Midnight Cowbow....minor building and painting but complete
  9. I know they are north of $100k, but wanted to see how much and if it a 'market adjustment' sticker. Dash looks like they slapped a couple laptop screens on the dash and the controls were GM parts bin. Back half looks like a reimaged Avalanche. For the hype, I expected more.....
  10. Area dealership brought it to the show. No window sticker. Meh.....
  11. I love a good auction when they phone in the effort on the pics. No mention if complete and the pics showed the bad paint job as well as the remaining parts in the box. I figured I would gamble on at least the body. Came in the mail.....it's complete! No tire burn on the glass, decent chrome! Small chip on the tab of the hood but that is the only thing wrong.....
  12. Toy show last weekend.... I have the 1/18 Maisto version but AutoWorld came out with the 1/64 version. I dont expect to find them in the wild so I bought two of each (one for me and one for my teenager). Dealer only had three of each Not a huge Rat Fink fan but I will by them when they are reasonable.....
  13. The Shapp?
  14. Dropped one of the dogs off at the groomer so the wife and I went to the local antique mall to kill time. Rarely find anything but did okay today. $15 for the two and the box.....both are screw bottoms. The Buick is missing the back bumper
  15. Pic 1.....Thrift store find. Someone repainted a bunch of these Chrysler's as there was about a dozen of them but some were decent while others were their learning curve. This one was by far one of the better ones......just needs polished July swap meet Love the old boats! Leaving it as is Grand Prix is a rebuilder. Built but dismantled/stripped.
  16. https://t-hunted.blogspot.com/2022/07/as-novidades-da-matchbox-para-2022-e.html Do I spy with my little eye an AMC Eagle Wagon????? (purple top row)
  17. Officer.....when you say 'walk the line' does it have to be the double yellow line?
  18. The lone one in the SW Ohio is moving to a new location around the corner as the complex they were in morphs into yet another car lot. Hopefully the new location brings new employees and understands customer service.
  19. An EF2 tornado did some major damage in a small town NE of Cincinnati. One of the local new stations sent their evening anchors out the next day to broadcast from the area and solicit donations. As the female reporter went on about things to donate like water, non perishable food items, diapers, etc, the male reporter talked about how hot is was the day before when the tornado his (heat index in some areas hit 111 degrees). She picked up where she left off on her list of donatable items and mentioned window air conditioners.....without missing a beat, the male reporter said "they have no electric!" OOPS!! And a quick cutaway to a field reporter. Hopefully the camera man kept it rolling behind the scenes. I was impressed ODOT had slapped snow plows on the dumps trucks as there was a great number of trees clogging the roads and within hours were out there. Cinergy staged at a nearby mall and had over 80% of the power restored in 24 hours.
  20. The voice of Mr Whoppee on Tennessee Tuxedo and Tales Corporal Randolph Agarn on F Troop
  21. Wife and son were out of town so I set my alarm to get up extra early so I could feed the dogs before going to the Cars & Coffee. As I'm checking to make the alarm is off (and not on snooze) I hear the thunder. Only a few clouds in the sky so not where it came from but so much for that plan as this one usually has higher end cars so attendance will be minimal! I shuffled to the deck door and let the dogs out before going to the bathroom to recycle myself. Less than ten seconds later, Brian is barking and getting louder. He is the diva so I'm used to it but as I finish I go to let him in and it's raining. I let all three of them but he is still barking at. I think I just got called some bad names in K9-eze?????
  22. My maternal grandmother had Alzheimers and ended up in a nursing home It's hard when they look at you and have no clue who you are. She was a sock hoarder in the nursing home.....went to neighboring rooms and took socks. Never understood that. My dad had Dementia and it was far worse as you never knew what personality he had today. He could be in group hug mode or racist rants using verbiage I never heard him use! The one thing that brought them both peace was images from the past. Grandma worked in a department store and gave so much of her life there, any tales or pics from the store put her in her happy place. Dad was a car lover so pics from car shows showing things from the 30's to the 50's would keep him focused for hours. Both could recall things from their childhood like it just happened or the last five minutes of the conversation. Everything in between was gone.
  23. Took the day off to take all three dogs into the vet for their rabies and all the other shots.....one dog at a time. They are great together at home but a road trip (less than a mile to the vet) and it's like taking three little kids out. Everyone got a check up and all are good!
  24. Local model swap meet. $110 for the two JoHans. Ambulance is complete....wheels are on the stretcher. Both are complete and the back doors work $5 for the trailer
